We need a Firefox extension! Seriously! There are a couple extensions for forums, BBCode and BBCodeXtra, but they're horribly outdated. Neither have Strikeout, PHP, SQL, Codebox, or any of the other innovations Invision has pushed in the last couple years. IMO (but apparently not others) extensions for such a forward-thinking browser should be based on the leading standards, not outdated standards. I know extremely little about programming, and I couldn't make heads or tails of BBCode's source. (Download the XPI, rename it to *.zip, unpack the .jar file, rename it to .zip and unpack that to reveal an extension's source.) It didn't look like it could be easily ada…

I was wondering if the staff has considered a featuer where it adds a setting in the ACP to the moderator or reported post options. So basicly when you report a post, you have some options to choose from. You click REPORT, and you have a drop down above the box, where you can select what type of report it is. For example, Spam, Move Topic, Flamming, Cursing, Slander, excessive smilies, ect. ect. So when the moderator sees the message it will give them a heads up. Anybody could see a use for this, because it would sure help out a most of the forums I visit. Also would prevent the mods or admins, from sorting real reports and bogus ones. IF anybody has a better suggestio…

2.2 lost the feature of highlighitin any text on the page then everytime you mouseover the fastreply a new button appears to allow you to quote that text. I really liked that feature on 2.1 and I think it would be really cool to have it on 2.2

When you changed over the buttons "Complete Edit" "Cancel Edit" somehow now when I tab to Complete instead it goes to the Fast Reply box for typing.

Language files differences RC1 <-> Final

Will be there any changes to language files after releasing of RC1 till Final release? I'm asking this because I translated the files for Beta1, now in Beta2 there are many new added lines. So my questions is if there will be any changes as well so I wait till Final and then add everything new and translate (since there is no auto-update of non-english files with adding new lines) :(

I keep getting logged out for some reason. I'm using Firefox 2.0 RC2 on OS X. Every time I close my browser and open it again I have to log in again, even though I check that keep logged in thingy every time. Also sometimes I have to log in twice because it doesn't work the first time. Doesn't happen on any other forum.. :unsure:

I'm aware that we are on the second public beta release and we are unable/not suggested to upgrade our public board because it will expire on the 30th of October. So I'm wondering... the next release will probably be about that time if I am correct right? Will it be a third beta or I mean will we finally be able to upgrade our own?

I've been running my board now for a couple of years with a custom skin. This includes not only the main board, but also the blogging module. This has been great from a user feedback point of view - they love it - but with each and every major & minor release of the software I have to check that the skin I have works, possibly (probably) get some changes done and then pay $$$. Over time this is starting to add up so I'm questioning the value of having another skin done. It would be really useful if IPB & associated modules (eg blog, gallery etc) came with more than just the blue standard skin. Perhaps a red, orange, green etc skin could be shipped so that this + …

Anyone downloaded the new documentation in the 2.2 public beta 1 announcement? Wanted to see what you thought. Documentation has always been one of our weak areas and we put some effort into them and hope you like the new documenation. You might notice the version that is up there is a little out of date because we're still tweaking the beta series. We will of course update it. We are also working on Developer Documentation to go into detail on the components, RSS, login manager, ipsclass, etc. for developers.

javascript issues with for()

I mostly use script.aculo.us for my projects that go within IPB. But the only problem that I see whenever I try to fix IPB's js to work with script.aculo.us is the way IPB use for() function Somehow if I turn all the: for(var i in ips_xxx) to for(var i=0; i < ips_xxx.length;i++) AND typeof to using typeof with brackets: typeof(xx) makes most of script.aculo.us work. why not use for() completely and use typeof with brackets? I think that quite a lot of people would be interested in using script.aculo.us on their ipb 2.2 board. Basically I am asking that the JS should be well formatted so that other javascript plugins cannot interfere with the IPB jsc…

If I remember correctly you had to edit "index.php" and add a line of code so when someone type "yoursite.com/forums/index.php?act=somepage" it'll read "somepage.php". Does 2.2 do the same or can you have "index.php?act=somepage" read "somepage.php" without having to edit "index.php"?

A couple of weeks ago there was a thread on the fast reply and I said how come vbulletin can put wysiwyg in the fast reply and someone said cause theres no point. Alot of people were saying its stupid to have one and I said it wasn't NOW LOOK THERES A WYSIWYG EDITOR IN FAST REPLY, BOOOOO HOOOOOO. Why don't people think first. and no im not a vb fanboy, I just find them to be BETTER. :D Although I do like this wysiwyg editor and invision forum software, its pretty good.

Hi, This is strange, not sure if its IPB or IE6. (But I've only seen it with the IPB site, no where else) Sometimes, the bottom line of the buttons image is missing. It seems to be to do with the mouse scroll button. If a 'long' page is displayed and then you use the mouse scroll button to scroll up and down, sometimes the bottom of all the buttons is missing. If you then rescroll up / down (so the buttons go off screen and back on), they get painted correctly... I've seen this on different computers, so I dont think its anything 'bad' on my pc... I would attach an example image, but I cant find the 'attach file' section in this forum... Rob D.

I would like the ability to add groups that have some type of power wether it be moding the gallery or downloads manager to their respective groups on the Modorationg Team page
