I have images that need to be used around my website in different sections. I have images that I upload to my website that are 800 x 1100 pixels, these images I would like to be able to make dynamic thumbnails for on my CCS installation. I believe HTML gives me a decent way to do this, but I also want to reuse those pictures in my forums and IP tracker, I am not seeing a way to control the size of a posted photo in BBCode or by Hotlinking images. Maybe I am wrong and there is a way......but I think it would be nice to be able to control the display size of images. I know there is a dynamic resize in IP Tracker, but thats only if I upload them as attachments, and will not …

With version 3, I would have thought it would have made sense to split the forums so that those wanting help on 2.x do not get responded to by people who think they are asking for v3. Also helps with finding information relevant to v3 and not having to search through v2 posts.

I've encountered on occasion the need to converse with a member on my site via PM, however I can't do this if I've disabled the member's Personal Messenger. You may say, well, that makes sense, but I think that similar to overriding an inbox-full, Admins should be allowed to override this and message any member on the board, and vice versa. A member who's Personal Messenger was disabled reported a post to me, and I have no way of responding to his report without re-enabling his Personal Messenger.

CSS Expansion All I'm suggesting is that you expand and and define more classes and IDs on more objects in the default skin so that it's easier to make skins. I've been skinning IPB3 and had to constantly edit the HTML to define new objects to stylize. A simple suggestion, considering there aren't that many publicly available skins out for IPB3 like there was for IPB 2.2.x & 2.3.x. Board Logs I basically already posted this in the modifications section, but it would be much nicer if it was implemented into the boards. The idea is basically to have logs like the admin log-in logs, but for all users. When a user logs into the forums, their Member Number, Login Name, …

Will the resource site be getting some love soon? The searching is terrible and inaccurate. I can post steps to reproduce if needed, however I think there were already a few topics made discussing the issues.

It would be nice if the functionality of the RSS exports would be broadened a bit. For example: The entry links to the last post of the thread. And the description includes this last post instead of the first.

This company is rated an A+ on the Better Business Bureau, and all their complaints have been resolved, I just wonder why people continue to complain about their customer service and support responses. http://www.bbb.org/western-virginia/business-reviews/web-design/invision-power-services-inc-in-forest-va-9008717/ That's the direct link to the BBB site. Personally, i've been quite pleased with what i've been given.

Is IPS resetting the bugs for IPB 3.0.3? I just had my forums upgraded and when I click on Today's Active Topics I get the following error: Now, this is the same error I reported with IPB 3.0.1. This bug was fixed for 3.0.2. Now, IPS has returned that bug with 3.0.3? Active content in the last %s

Many thanks for making this available, it's great! The only issue I've noticed is one missing icon... so not bad going really! If you have IP Downloads on your board, the little globe icon is missing from the download a file link. Otherwise everything looks dandy, great work team! :D

when posting remote images they fill the whole message box, this never used to happen on v2 also when clicking the image it expands the image in the post itself and distorts the board, instead of loading in a separate browser or tab as it used to do in v2. The old v2 resize was not perfect but this new setup is much worse for my forum were i have many posted images. There must be a better way than this new setup or bring back the old img setup.

When trying to "sign in" here at IPB the login page is littered with a few errors Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/forumsi/public_html/admin/sources/classes/output/publicOutput.php(1380) : eval()'d code on line 58 Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/forumsi/public_html/admin/sources/classes/output/publicOutput.php(1380) : eval()'d code on line 61 Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/forumsi/public_html/admin/sources/classes/output/publicOutput.php(1380) : eval()'d code on line 67 Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: W…

Allthough there's the helpfiles we can alter, it would be nice if the board holds a FAQ feature. In there admins can add whatever FAQ they want, regardless whether its about forum or there surrounding websites and features. My users come with so many questions that if I was to put them into helpfiles, the list would be so enormous that it would be unattractive to use. Besides that, the Helpfiles do not show in language bits so I would have to create helpfiles for all languages on my board, making the list twice or three times as large. It could be done in a forum layout I suppose, but it would be nice if there could be a way of just listing the questions (categorized) …

In some countries, offering users the ability to cancel their accounts (thereby deleting all of user's data and content) is becoming a legal requirement. It would be good if you explored the possibility of adding this feature to the "My Settings" section; with the necessary "Are you sure you want to cancel your account? This action is irreversible" prompts and help file informative entry, that is.

A great summary post from one of my forum users... Here's a view of pages at both forums after clicking for New Posts: I know it makes me an old fogey, but I like the tighter and more organized look of the Rev forum. I like the tabular look of the topics and the fields for each. I like the background that sets it apart from the page, and clearly separates each topic with a contrasting line. I like the clear orange marker that shows which ones have posts I haven't read yet. I like the compactness that allows more content to be viewed on the page. I like that the hyperlinks are clearly indicated with the traditional underline. I feel like the new format is trying to loo…

Hello, I searched in my admin panel, but couldn't find this feature; I was wondering if you can add the option to disallow potential members to signup using the same password as their username (username=password)? This is a big security issue with forums at the moment as you could just extract the member names and bruteforce the forum. The current "login security system" does not block this even if you dont use proxy servers, due to the fact that you are targeting seperate member accounts instead of the same member account. I know that it is plain stupid to use the same username as your password, but there are just many people out there who still prefer to do that to …

On a Forum I help Admin (and for which I am the resident tech-head ;)), we often get nested quotes that are more than 3 deep, but almost never more than 6 deep. There are now 3 defined colors for nesting (Green, Purple, Brown). Once you reach a 4th nest depth, it repeats the last color (Brown). As was explained to me, each nesting needs a defined class. Can you increase the nesting classes to 6 colors?? Or, if that's something easily done by the user, post a note somewhere in a non-public area here that details how? Thank you!

IPS Staff: I hate to say this but the IPS Upgrades are becoming a real inconvenient Annoyance. What am I talking about? Everytime there is a service update to IPB (2.0.1, 3.0.2, etc) the upgrade creates havok with the hooks that I have installed. Not only do I have to disable the hooks, but, they have to be un-installed and then re-installed. The upgrades are not anticipating already installed hooks and adjusting for them and it's becoming an annoyance. Does IPS plan on fixing this problem or is this going to be a regular 'romp and stomp' action with every upgrade/update? For one, I would love to see this corrected.

At this point, when completing registration, new board users are automatically placed in usergroup Members. There is no setting to make variations in that like based on date of birth or location, where that could come in handy when you want to create a multi language board, but don't want to show the forums in other languages, or when you want specific rights to be given to people of specific ages like a teens area, an erotic area etc. It would be great if such a feature was available in a future release (preferably 3.0.4, since 3.0.3 is allready released)
