Hey, In THIS page, there's a block "All Packages Include...". In this block, there's "Fantastic support". I think you should fix that to "The MOST fantastic support" :D Regards

I've been trying to get user Promotion working whereby I wish to upgrade users with more than 100 posts and move them into a different group. It all appears to be set correctly but no promotion are taking place. Is this because: a) I need to turn something on - wondering as I can't see any scheduled Promotion task,. b) We're running a test system and the users concerned have not logged on and posted, I'm wondering if the mechanism is triggered by a new posting by a user who meets the criteria. Anyone know and can clarify for me?

Proposing to add a new option so that subforums of a forum can be visible without the topics in the parent forum being visible. It related to this tracker issue, which is marked as not a bug. On our forum personally, it would be useful to have an option to make subforums visible while keeping the topics/posts in the parent hidden.

Could you please consider moving the sharing of attachments across different topics/posts to the top of your todo list? I suggested months ago that the attachment bbcode be allowed to refer to attachment ids in other posts or copies of an attachment could be attached to a new post without re-uploading, but was told that this was not a practical solution to implement (still don't understand why). Another approach to sharing files is to associate a URL for each attachment as a "sharing" URL (or bbcode) like YouTube or other file sharing sites do. I have a need for the administrator to attach some files to a pm or personal topic and allow the user to attach that file t…

I cannot get my head around adding and editing an apps template. Not at all. My system is in_dev mode so I am ass/u/me/ng that the templates being used are in cache/master_skinHowever going into Look and Feel, I can't edit or add templates to the master_skinFor giggles I created the template in the default IPS style. Its there, but predictably not in the master styleI recache master style and that seems to create my template in the master style, but doesn't have any of the code in it.I manually create the damn template in the master_skin folder but it doesn't get called. Also notice naming convention doesn't match the other styles.Have looked through a few articles in t…

So I follow the instructions to buy Chat, going to the "new purchase" page, but the option to buy chat is not listed there. So where do I buy it? I really don't like to feel stupid or blind. Instructions ought to lead me to the right place, no? Help, please.

I read it and it says I need 3.0.5 version. Well I have bought the license and it expired before 3.0.5 released. Does this mean I have to buy a new 6month license to get 3.0.5 then update, or is there any other ways around it? Currently, I just got the files uploaded in my directory.

Is it possible to merge IPB RC1 and IPB 3.0 Forum? Or could I update a IPB RC1 to IPB 3.0 and then merge them? I am trying to move a large VB site to an IPB site and I am not sure of the right way to go about it. I moved everything over about 6 months ago to RC1. For some reason that install got glitched up, but I think all of the user and post data is still there. So I was hoping to move everything from that into a fresh install which I have got working exactly how I want.

Minor suggestions: My impression is this link: http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/custom_services.html?category=59 Should be somewhere on this page, but is not. Maybe put the link back on that page so people can find it? http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/community.html More information about the topic: LINK Also, when viewing new forum content, I cannot tell if the topics listed are here: Invision Power Services > Invision Power Services, Inc. > IPS Company Feedback > IP.Board or here: Invision Power Services > IPS Resources > Peer-to-Peer Technical Support > IP.Board The first thread in the picture is in the feedb…

OK, so in the new today, there is an update to ipb and in this [url=" it explained a bit and gave two links to download depending on your version. Why wouldn't this be under the Client area? I am fairly new to IPB so I don't really know how your patches and security releases work, but for me, if you're trying to block access for those that haven't bought your software, why give them a chance to download a patch? I dunno... just curious more than anything. :D Jamie

This is related to this bug http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=21079 that has now been addressed. This I was told should be put in as a suggestion although I think it relates to the other which was submitted as a bug. When you logout from an IP.Content page, you get redirected back to the forum home. If you are using IP.Content in your root directory and as your index home page, then surely it makes sense that the logout redirect should be your home index page rather than the forum index. I would prefer it logged out and redirected back to the page the user logged out from... but back to the index page would be much preferable to the …

SUGGESTION: Option to disable BBCode
by Guest David Petley- 10 replies

Hi, I would like the option to disable BBCode for specified user groups, in the same way that I have an option to allow or disallow HTML posting for any specified user group. That way, I could set up a 'new member' user group that could not post live links (spam or otherwise) until they graduated to the more trusted 'members' group. Am I being naive in thinking this (option to disable BBCode) should be a pretty simple thing to do? cheers, david

Make it more noticeable that you can login using those methods during registration. Also a few more things: When I login with OpenID for the first time it automatically logged me in to my admin account, I thought I would need to associate it first but ok. As for Windows Live sign in, why can't we associate it with an existing account instead of having to make a new account with it.

Hello, I'm interested in renewing my licence, I've decided to renew it once IPB 3.1.0 comes out. When does that happen? At least approximately.

The Issue: I get reply emails all day long in the mail account that sends out board emails even though I have implemented to following changes. 1. I have edited the language sting of the email and added this to the top: 2. I also added an auto-responder to the account that says: 3. The account is named: do-not-reply@domain.com My Suggestion: I suggest just letting people respond to PMs by email. IPB could monitor the SMTP email account grab the message and forward it to the intended recipient via PM. You could add unique identifies to the subject of the email and have the system look for those. My proposed email example:

Hi! Just thought I'd post up my thoughts while they were still fresh in my mind. We did not purchase the software yet, just the smallest IPS Hosted Community with the add on products. We are using that account to evaluate if IP products could be used instead of our current software. Pre-sales questions: 11/10 - I've never been treated better. Anywhere. Purchase and billing questions on the phone: 10/10 Account set up on the IPS Hosted Community: 10/10 Friendliness of ticket support: 10/10 I do, however, have some suggestions. Background: Warning, I am not that technical :) We have been using these command for backup and restore, our database is quite l…

I just finnished moving from 2.3.6 to 3.0.5. I had a dutch language pack, but that wasn't enough, I had to change a lot on places all over the ACP, to get it in Dutch. This must be a problem for people wanting to have a real multilingual board. Since all the things outside ACP settings can only have one string. So the request: bring more things to the language file.

This was my ticket.... Out of 17 registrants this week, 11 of them had the same problem. They registered and then tried to enter the forum to begin posting and changing their profile. Is there any way, and there should be a way, for a screen to appear that says, you must check your email to confirm your registration before you can make changes. Suggestions: 1. If someone adds the confirmation component, then the software should immediately introduce this type of screen WITHOUT approval. Then if the admin person does not want this function they turn it off. 2. Instead of error codes alone, since I've got to believe this is a UNIVERSAL challenge for any forum, eve…

Topic vs Thread? 1 2 3

Heya. I don't know if this has been talked about before, but I was just wondering; Why did you name it Topic instead of Thread? This is not a bash thread..hrm.. topic, I'm merely wondering how you thought and why you picked Topic. IMO Thread is a better suiting name since in grammar.. a topic, as you all know, is a subject. Or better put it; It's the topic that describes what the sentence is about. So, a Thread can have a topic(which would be a title) since the topic describes what the Thread is about = title. A Thread can mean many things, but basically it's some sort of line of events, in this case it means a line of posts that all circulates around the same event(…

I was looking for the 'Custom Services' area to refer someone their who needed custom work but couldn't find the link without a Google search. A link somewhere in the resources area might help new members find it better. I'm referring to this page here: http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/custom_services.html
