At the moment, unless I'm missing the obvious, I can't see any reason to install IP.Chat on my community as IP Shoutbox provides a very good live chat service which my members seem to enjoy. Recently I received an e-mail advertising a mod called Free Video Chat which provides IPB with video webcam integration and a chat room, but you have to use 3rd party add-ons like TinyChat API. IP.Chat would be a better prospect if it included webcams. Is video support a possibilty for the future?

Dear Sir, First upon sorry if i posted in wrong section, but i have one suggestion for you for ban state. when we ban some members then he came only message that you are not allowed to visit this forum. but like other forum types like Vbulletin cant you add ban state message. Ex. After banning member he wont get message like You are not allowd to visit this forum instead he will get ban message that why he got ban. and reason could written by us Ex [ Its not original image. its just to show you format of Vbulletin for ban members] like the above image when member login in the profile and if he's ban then he will get the message written by us Thank You

Currently you can use the title, key and value. It'd be good if we could use the icon as well, since in some cases we can use it instead of the field title (saving some room!).

Would it be possible to add in a future version (don't know if IPB3 has it or not) the ability to add multiple 'Group Icons' to a person. We have several people that are assigned to Primary Group and then one or more 'Secondary Groups' most of which have their own distinct group icon. Right now we have to go in and create a 'combined group' as well as a new image for that group that combines the group icons for each of the groups... while this is easily doable, it becomes a management nightmare. :D This could even me enhanced with a member profile option that allows them to select what group icon they want to display on their profile.

My friends board upgraded to 3.1.0 beta 1. We encountered a trouble with a url link. So we installed from scratch and created a new database and moved the forums and forum_perms.... But theirs no way to get our permissions re-built.... You guys should you make a way to re-build your permissions for forum permissions.

I want to set my board so images using the tag are only displayed for members logged in. It needs to be so that guests ( people not logged in ) do not see the images. I have tried setting this in the BB code options in the admin, but it doesnt seem to work, if i set the IMG tag to be used only by members and in posts and topics everyone can still see the images?? I have tried and tried, what am i doing wrong? or is it a bug? Sully

I'm suggesting mainly because it would be useful for my site, but how about more admin options available for polls. Such as, the ability to create the list of options, as normal, but instead of selecting one or two options as normal, setting a number of factors to choose from, for poll entry. For example - my sports site could then use a ratings system - being able to choose an option of 1 - 10 for each player and then vote. And the poll calcutating the average rating of all entries.

Browsers seem to render pages better if all img tags for the page specify height/width dimensions. Basically, the browser can reserve the page area for the image when rendering the HTML and doesn't have to wait until the fetch is completed. Even if the images are cached, I've noticed some weird formatting on slow browsers (like over a very slow wireless connection). Anyway, my feature request is that the Admin CP have a setting to add actual width/height for the image (assuming the ACP can open the file and determine the dimensions) automatically to all img tags emitted. Not sure if this ever worked, but hovering over the emoticons doesn't tell me what they are / are for, or what the BBCode is for adding them. Any chance of adding the BBCode as a hover pull-out, e.g.; hover over Thumbs Up emoticon and you see : thumbsup : (can't use the actual code as it renders the smiley ... lol) Cheers, Shaun :thumbsup:

I see this as being a great tool for skinners, at least in the aspect of starting off with the colors they want to implement before they start making the actual changes they have in mind. Here are few things that I think could make it a very powerful tool. Include a few blank images (such as the logo) so that it can be better customized. I know a PSD would most likely be impractical at best, so just having some images that someone could use to import into PhotoShop with using the default gdk from the client area would be a good workaround. Have the links clickable in the preview. I can understand it'd be a huge thing to accomplish but thought I'd toss it out there. B…

Ok, there have been numerous topics talking about how slow support is, and how it takes forever to get anything done. Well I just had to use a support ticket for the first time I wanted to share my experience with everyone.. I have a IPB site I am working on and will be transferring the site from my vB install to IPB in April. I had an issue yesterday (Saturday) and issued a ticket. Currently notifications are in a format like such: Now wouldn't it be more user friendly if "Charles" was actually linked to his profile -or- if there was a link to the status message itself? (So it brings you to the profile and down to a status message anchor) Currently there is no easy way to view the profile and respond to a notification. Unless you go to your own profile and find the friend manually which is not exactly user friendly. My $0.02. :)

A suggestion I have is that people on moderator preview can see their own posts or topics and simply see that they're there, but not approved yet. :P Seems like I've seen that done somewhere before, but I don't remember where. I think it was a site i joined recently where you had to post before being approved. Basically you could still see your post even before it was approved.

I think it would be nice if we had some area showing our comment history just as we do for post history and topic history. Easier to go look and see responses without having to subscribe to any sort of automatic updates. I've eben on another site where it basically puts all of your posts, blog entries, comments on blogs, etc... all into one list of your history. It's custom forum software, not IPB, VB, etc..., but anyway it's pretty convenient. What amde me think of it is I posted in a blog on here today and I was going back to it and to find it I have to search around before I finally notice my comment. :)

Prechosen color themes: Colors such as red/green/orange/etc, just some really common colors. If a person wants one, they click a link and it's loaded up, then they can adjust as desired. Last 5 downloaded: Keep a record of the last 5 themes, but be based on the last 5 people who used it, keeping the last one that each of those 5 downloaded. Shouldn't tell WHO downloaded it, only let you see what they downloaded.
