forthcoming birthday

Is there a way, or somebody else before me requested this option: set to a month the forthcoming birthday (until the board is almost new), instead of 24H? So, all we should know in advance when someone has his/her birthdate. It should be nice to have this set on admin cp, and in stats, on mouse over, see the exact birth date. Thank you for your answer (hopefully).

You guys should look at changing how people register because I even have a picture challenge question AND all of a sudden the last weeks your software is being EASILY blasted by spammers. Unfortunately, you think that those of us who have been LOYAL from the beginning when Matt was first starting out and got a lifetime license now need to pay for this spam control feature that should be part of the board. However...it's not all roses with it either. In addition, my other forum where I DO get spam control is still be inundated with spammers. So, please think about improving the overall spam control. Opt-out of a multi-recipient PM (Conversation)

I would like to suggest an option to opt-out of a multi-recipient PM. Presently you can delete the entire conversation, but you cannot step out of it and retain the conversation up to the point you leave it. It would be handy to have a "stop" button, as such. Cheers, Shaun :D

Hello everyone! Currently I'm spending all my money for a new life, I'm going to university again, need to pay a new apartment etc. My future projects are being worked on offline with a local server. That reason for I'm currently no "active customer", although I am a legal customer who bough IP.Board, IP.Blog and IP.Content (and will probably buy IP.Gallery and Nexus for the new project, as soon as possible) Well, now it seems like I'm "only" a member... that's not a shame, but I was accused being "illegal" three times this week. To me, a "friendly URL" has this structure "site.com/just-this-and-no-sub-directories-before-it" Adding the sub-directory "topic" like so: "site.com/topic/this-is-buried-under-a-useless-sub-directory-and-hurts-seo" does not help SEO at all. You should at the very least provide your customers with a hack/mod/work-around to get rid of the "topic" and "forum" sub-directories. This one issue is preventing me from moving forward with my project.

Welcome. Ever since I read about the brand new notification system, I was amazed with the way it could improve the way I'd browse forums. The system may be brilliant, but as we all know, it still needs to be polished. I like the changes listed this post, but there's still one serious problem with it. Namely - noticifations are written as they were e-mails and so we've got to go inside each notification to see what it actually links to. It's obvious in case of e-mails, but I wish i could go straight from the notification pop-up to a Personal Conversation or to a post, which quotes my own post etc. So I suggest making another button in the pop-up window near "View not…

Hardcoded H1/Title tag problem

Upgraded to 3.1.4 and now there's another board name hardcoded into the H1, I think in a core file and I can't find it. I didn't notice it and it's started killing my traffic/SEO... I URGENTLY need to get this useless, very damaging boardname in every H1 removed. Can someone please help me find the right file and area to edit. Really, IPS needs to stop making critical SEO changes like this without some kind of warning or discussion.

Hello, I have a great wish for the new versions. Please don't use any hardcoded text anymore but put it in the langauge files. For international users as i am, and many more, its almost impossible to get all text in the desired language. And the main resone is the hardcoded text. I think this question is already asked many times, but untill now, not implemented. Thank you Henk

While I was reporting that the buildInDev.php script fails with an exception for me in the developer docs, submitting the feedback form fails with an exception: community.invisionpower.com Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Okay I know I get tired of people asking for things for ipb that xenforo has but this is one thing that would/could make it easier on us skinners. An option to display forum and topic description in title for better SEO

Searchengines like keywords in title tag, but not always we can put keyword we need in forum or topic title. Sometimes we have keyword only in description. Make a custom title for every topic by hand is boring, why not to let the forum display a description in title tag together with title: "Topic Title. Topic Description" as an option. Of course forum description in title tag should be without any BB or HTML tags.

Suggestion: Nudge Feature

Lots of cool new features have been proposed for 3.1.......and many of them seem to revolve around Facebook or socializing. What about if we had a "Nudge" feature on the forums? It would work like the Poke feature of Facebook.....where you could nudge a member to come back to the forums. It would be on each members individual profile, and members could click the nudge button.....and it would send them an email stating that "Member X" nudged them. Of course there would be settings that the user could use to disable this feature, and we should be able to set permissions per usergroup also. Maybe it could even work like Super Poke, where we could set actions that could be …

Ability to EDIT Members Status Updates

Right now, admin and mods can only delete or lock status updates posts. We need the feature to also be able to EDIT it. Many times, members put up legitimate status updates, but sometimes they mix it along with self promotional ads or bad words. There are many times we don't want to remove - a simple editing option would solve the problem. We can edit posts and blog comments, why can't be edit status updates? For bad words, we tried to add the bad word to the filter list, but because it was added AFTER the status update, it didn't do anything. It'll be nice to at least have a status filter refresh so bad words can at least be applied.

Second menu?

I think in near future we would need something like secondary menu. There are more and more members who have installed more and more apps and one row for those apps is short. For example my test board. There are links to home page, forums, members, blogs, gallery, portal, chat (shoutbox), calendar, links, chat (IP.Chat), member map, pages, tracker, arcade. On resolution 1024*768 then header looks like: It's ugly. So solution would be when we have secondary menu - and - we could customize both menus. For example, member who doesn't use blogs and chat at all, he/she could remove those links from his/her customized menu.

This has happened today on two of my boards. Despite you taking payments for both suites from the credit card that I have on file and sending me emails thanking me for my business. My communities regular Friday night chat is ruined now, thanks a bundle IPS! I've sent tickets in for you to sort it out but I shouldn't have to and I'm not happy with your automated billing system.

OK, I'm going to put myself out in the open on this one as I think I could be part of the minority here who has issues with the new search system. I appreciate the new search system is powerful and a vast improvement on the previous ones and where it will be a 100% improvement for some forums, for others, like our users, it seems to be a real turn off. The biggest problem we have is the defaulting of the area it's searching.
