Footer shows final and also in the Client area for download... I will probably wait for 3.2.1 (or .2) to allow the minor bugs to be resolved, but for those that want to live on the edge it looks ready to go.

Not sure where to put this because it looks like its not longer supported, even though I bought it. It doesn't even show up in my Products, in the Client Area. Is it really gone? Michael

Wouldn´t it be easier if there was a way to see applications and mods in IPS Marketplace based on which IPBoard version they are compatible with. Especially now, when 3.2 is out. Just a thought... :)

I had an idea for a feature in the ACP. Under the failed login attempts could we have the IP address of the person trying to log in resolve to a registered member if one exists? So that we can tell if a user is trying to login with an admin account easily.

I haven't really been keeping up to date here, although I'm really hoping that this isn't like the 'go to top' button like the previous version but I cannot find it anywhere, has the user online icon been removed?

When I upgraded to 3.2.0 on my test site (mirrored live site) I got a warning about having more than 100 000 posts and therefore was recommended to run manual SQL queries. What could be confusing was that the header stated "IPB 3.2.0 beta 1" followed by the above message. Also, there was this check box for "IP.Chat 1.3.0 beta 1" which also is confusing. I suppose the SQL changes was implemented in the beta 1 timeframe but it does not look professional to have the beta messages as the product now is RTM.

Apparently validating members can spam member profiles with comments/spam links. This seems to be the latest way to get around spam filters and other methods to limit new user spam messaging. To be clear, members who have not validated their accounts via email authentication can post comments to anyone's profile with spam. I think there should also be a mass delete feature (delete all member's comments on everyone's profiles) for clean up (easy manual mysql query -- hopefully to implement as well). Maybe an ACP option to limit validating and member groups in general from posting on profiles. That would solve it. I have a new members group for people with less than …

SMF has a nice feature in which you are warned if another user has posted in a topic whilst you've been drafting a reply (and then it shows you their reply). This can be handy to save crossed wires, duplicate advice, etc. Would be nice to see it in IPB. :)

Why post in a big announcement about IPB 3.2 final in Invision Power Services→ IPS Customer Services→ Customer Lounge when everybody don't look. Why not put it in News and Information where it would be best put?

The top menu in the ACP of 3.2.0 that has the appearing drop-down menus is kinda laggy. I don't know if it's just me but when i go through the menus it takes time for the other to disappear so i have to wait before i can read the menu that it overlaps

Not sure if this is doable or not, but I thought I would throw it out there for discussion. I was reading about Google's new Google News Badges feature and it gave me an idea. Would there be a way to suggest topics based on what a member has read or on personal settings? I could see a sidebar or portal feature where you could push recommended topics to the individual user.

When you run different security tools like htaccess the PHP files in the ACP security center, the output displayed hides most of the information and is poorly formatted.

Right now we have alt='Logo' on our header images. And this is how it affects our sites: That's a screenshot for TechGeeks on Google Webmaster Tools. My suggestion is to change that alternate text to something like "TechGeeks Forum" (because that's what the logo actually says). The point of the alternate text isn't to describe what a picture is, as in "logo", but to describe the picture, as in "this is a picture with the letters techgeeks forum." That ALT text should be taken from the board name. :)

Since you can only move one page at a time, getting to the last page on a heavily commented blog entry would be very time consuming.

I think it'd be great if we could use a code like <mid#> inside multi-mods which would automatically insert the current username of that member ID. This would prevent the necessity of updating multi-mods in the event a member decides to change their username for whatever reason. :)

It looks like someone threw all items at random. We have 4 bars now (indicated above 1-4) Each bar has a different color. Why two searches? On a top of it they look totally different. Why the 1st search has a search button with "search logo" and the other has a search button with word "Search"? What was the reason to create bar #4 just for 3 links? #4 is a bar, not a part of categories, so why it's not same width as a header instead of being lined up with categories? Why it doesn't have a header like color instead of categories color?

May be nice to have something in userInfoPane showing when you last sent a message to that user. Not sure if many would care about it or not, but for me personally it would be useful on certain sites to glance over and remind yourself if you ever PMed the person before. And maybe even have it be a link to that latest conversation with the person. If I make a certain site I am thinking of making I may make this as a hook as it would be useful personally.

How about adding the option that polls can be automatically closed after a certain time frame?

I like the new filter bar a lot. I'm looking to implement it in an app I'm upgrading, but I wanted to ask some questions about it first. Based on how it's used in the forum index, it looks like the standard usage of this feature is to have a 'custom' option that opens a menu with all of the old options we used to have to sort and filter the list, plus several 'popular' sorting options. Is that the idea behind the 'Recently Updated', 'Start Date', 'Most Replies' & 'Most Viewed' options, that they are ones people would most often want to select, so you just give them quick links to those options? I noticed that these hard-coded options are all ones where the sort …

I posted the issue here but found that is't not a bug, so I'm requesting it as a feature :) The problem is that search engines will index all these pages with the exact same content on them and this isn't a good thing :) Maybe we can have a /announcements/ directory where all announcements are kept and the links in each forum could just redirect to the announcement in that directory.

the past decade - every forum I've operated the upgrade process is pretty much the same, close site, backup, upload, run updates & patches, reapply modifications and other specifics, then dial in the new features. For administrators and members alike it can be a daunting task - for administrators we typically have to schedule the time - usually over a weekend and or late nights (pray nothing goes wrong - as developers are all in bed) Unless we setup a test site and go thru this process two or three times so we can give our moderators a preview of the changes - they usually get to see the new site along all other members. In the end any settings and tweaks to th…

I'm not sure if this is a beta thing but I find the 3.2 search (on this site in particular) to be very unfriendly. Here are a couple of examples of what I mean: "logging in" Says invalid query because on of the words is < 3 chars. I don't think the user should have to know that, can the software not simply ignore or remove short words? Not allowing the use of short words, even if they aren't used as search keywords, makes it impossible to form natural questions: What is a ... How do I ... Where is ... How do ... Not good IMHO. "IE javascript error" Says javascript is invalid term AND that there is a short word. How do you search for something related to …
