My goal: Show IPchat on my menu bar for only my admins and mod groups. Since I am currently limited to how many users can join IPchat, I do not wish to have it visible to my entire user base. Is this possible?

I just became aware of something that seems... unfair. This is the list of all the files I've released. I think that a member shouldn't be allowed to rate (with stars) or comment on a file if he/she haven't downloaded/purchase it (I think it would be alright to allow them to on the files topic though). It just makes good sense that "If you haven't purchased the product how can you review it?". I found it unusual getting rated so low only for the "paid" graphics while the free ones have better ratings. People rate down just because they don't want to pay for something and I think that isn't fair.

Hello. We recently turned "Merge member's concurrent posts" on and it's been working great except in one area. Thus we'd need to either have it as an usergroup setting or a setting per forum.

Is here a way to push the chat log or chat session as a forum posting? (one or more posts?) Thanks

......If you nuke a feature, TELL us. You seem keen to tell us about "new" features, and we are keen to hear them, but at this point, its with a tinge of fear, as you DONT tell us the features you've blithely removed. I would have liked to know IPBlog 2.5 has no custom headers, I'm certain others have had their surprises with other features they utilized now vacant. Just give us the BAD as well as the good. TELL us when you remove a feature.... better yet, ASK, if plausible.

Currently if a template is called on that doesn't exist in the skin set being used, an error is returned. Could that be updated to return a '' (nothing) if it doesn't exist? Either that or change it so that if a second parameter is passed, it'll instead return a boolean of true/false for if the skinbit exists. Pretty much doing this, but as an included function: method_exists( $this->registry->output->getTemplate('global'), 'globalTemplate' ) So that it could be called using this: $this->registry->output->getTemplate( 'global', 'globalTemplate' ) The if someone wants to make sure a particular template/bit exists before calling it, perhaps to …

Hello devs. I can't believe that after so much effort in producing a great aesthetic result for the new IP.Board 3.2, you chose that black square as the close-sidebar button. Come on, this doesn't fit at all there. It's BIG, almost overlaps the small x that closes Recent Blog Entries block, and is generally ugly. Am I the only one who doesn't like this at all? Also, sorry for not suggesting an alternative, but I bet you will find a great solution if you spend a couple of hours on this yourselves.

Is there in future any solution with posts table? This table is growing very fast and in my case it's size is 2/3 from whole database (230 tables). Very big posts table can make problems with optimization. Maybe would be good when posts were divided to more posts tables.

At present we have option to share the content of IP applications via facebook, twitter, email, etc. (the little icons under posts, images..) I would find it very useful to be able to share the content also via a Private Message. Like this I could notify members on interesting or important calendar events etc...

I was just reading blog post and thought of another type of "data archive" that could come in handy: a per-usergroup data "archive" download feature that effectively allows a member to download all of their posts, PMs, etc. This sort of thing is present on Facebook and Google+ and can come in handy if a user has a lot of potentially useful content on a site but hasn't otherwise backed it up. To help restrict excessive downloads, there could be a "download x times per y days" limit, and if the feature is integrated with Nexus, there could be an option to require the user to pay a certain amount prior to downloading.

I am suggestion this because this will go along with every browser I think. OK, there's some browser versions that doesn't support round edges etc, and some of the other CSS3 effects, but it will still look OK on these versions without the CSS3 effects. So, time to drop images? :)

Hello, It would be highly useful for some of us to be able to connect tags, like synonyms. For example if you could connect automobile and car, so a search for car as well as automobile would bring up all topics with those tags. If you are a cars forum, obviously you wouldn't want to connect those word. But for the rest of us, with users that tag according to different standards it would probably be a better user experience with more relevant search results. There are many words that are used for the same thing according to political landscape, upbringing and social class. And english and american have a couple of those as well... So if you see a trend that tags d…

I run some development boards on my localhost machine, and one thing that's always been kind of annoying is that they nag me for the license key. On 3.2 this nag has gotten significantly more in-your-face. Would it be possible to block these nags when the board URL is something like http://localhost/ or http://localhost:*? For folks running just Apache they'd have URLs that are just http://localhost/whatever, but if you run both Apache and IIS like I do your URLs might have the port number in them. Mine are all something like http://localhost:8080/whatever/.

Hi i have a forum with alot of categories and sub forum,i want ask what you thing about a feature that allow to copy a basic forum structure and copy it in each category, example -category 1 --forum1 --forum2 now i have to create and set for each category the forums and the relative permissions,it's not a problem but could be faster create a sample category and copy it. -category 1 --forum1 --forum2 -category 2 --forum1 --forum2 so i can create 3-4 forum categories with the structure that i want and i need just to change the category name. For example here you have ip board application support --ip content --ip board etc same for production mo…

I think it should be possible by default to rearrange tabs across categories (e.g. so an IPS Add On app tab can appear prior to a Root Application app tab, etc.). The current layout seems unnecessarily restrictive. Also, I recommend adding a feature that enables the addition of tabs that correspond with certain pages/sections e.g. in IP.Content.

Please please please revert to auto quotes instead of us having to click on quotes, CAREFULLY insert quote and then, when published removing quote marks to show as ordinary text!!! this is a pain in the proverbials And then after using it it allows me to normal cut and paste - weird?

Hi, This may have been suggested elsewhere, if so, feel free to delete this duplication . When replying to a post, it is often desireable to reply to a reply, so quoting the reply indicates/clarifies what you are referring to, but long quotes clog up the system. I thought it would be useful to have an option which instead of the "quote" one says "reply to this" and when you select that, a link appears (maybe even a button) above your reply which has the explanation: "This is a reply to this post/thread. Read the original text here..." which would be a lot lighter (I imagine) than long quotes, but would help to define conversations, especially if there are many commen…

View New Content is a feature that I never really used until recently. I appreciate the great strides that have been taken to improve the functionality of this feature. There is one small change that I would like to ask for, though. "Content I Have Not Read" should be an option, not a time period. 1) Content is not a unit of time; unread content works beautifully as an option, though. 2) What if I want to limit my results to content that I have not read in the past 24 hours, day, week, etc? Can't do that with the current set up.

I understand that the devs feel some features may be outdated and/or under-utilized, and that their removal is prudent for an overall benefit to the software. However, I think the way those features are removed could be improved in order to minimize blowback with the customer base. Please consider making official add-ons for features and functionality that is removed in the future. This will allow IPS to get a more accurate assessment of just how much the feature is wanted by the customers, and also provide to customers a clear indication if their favored toy is just not that much of a draw. Then, if the numbers call for it, decide whether to drop it, maintain it as…

Another setting and feature that should really be added in. There is reputation system at this time IN ALL THE FORUMS. People rep posts, etc. BUT lets say there is a Tech forum with tech-related forums and some offtopic forums. And people can get repped for telling a joke in offtopic forum and for an in-depth and useful post on some tech-stuff. Rep point is not equal to another rep point. A member who is active in offtopic forum (and has no idea about tech stuff) and gets a lot of rep points can actually have more positive points then a real tech guru. That's not so good. So I suggest to introduce a setting during a forum creation process where you can ENABLE OR DISAB…
