So using the tags sidebar hook and I would expect the most frequently used tags to appear first in the tags cloud. Now the ordering is random it seems....

Very small niggle. The message really needs to be.... clarified. The message implies that it is in the process of sending the report, but never says if it was completed.... it just disappears. It would be better changed to something like 'Thank-you for reporting this content'. That way it implies that it has been sent AND basically says thanks for taking the time to tell us. Just a thought.

It's pretty hard to compose HTML messages in Ad Code Integration section. I know it's mostly intended for adding some codes, but it's also perfect for global messages and in this case rich editor would come in handy. You can always toggle between simple and rich editor, so it won't hurt any ad code at all.

When making a reply (quick or full editor), i usually hover my cursor over the emoticons to know exactly what they describe/represent as some of them are not obvious. But nothing appears in a popup, as would be expected. This is a lacking feature, as it forces me to click on "Show All" under the row of emoticons, and then i have to scroll through the entire list of available emoticons and try to decrypt a meaning based on the bbcode of the emoticon that i wanted to use. A one-word description of each and every emoticon must be shown when the cursor is hovered over it. It's a feature that exists on other forum software and it is very helpful, so i really hope that this fea…

Once someone changes their skin they no longer have a choice to see the forums default skin (without clicking around). The forum's default skin should be a theme selection option.

OK, so let's just settle down for a few minutes and consider this: When you first log into the forums, what do you usually check for? I'm talking about the majority here, meaning the community members. Not from an admin or moderator point of view. IPB is meant for the community first and foremost, so it should enhance and facilitate the abilities of common members to browse around the forum to find what they are looking for. As a member and admin on several forum software, i have realized since a long time now, that there are 2 basic links that are absolutely required and that have to be right there in the top forum menu for easy access: 1. Unread posts since last visi…

Allowing users to select a password with only 3 characters on registration and on changes is just asking for trouble. We should have options in the ACP to set minimum password standards.

I would highly suggest ACP manage the robots.txt file for any IPB install. I've been checking Webmaster Tools on a daily basis trying to make all these adjustments to my robots.txt file in hopes of reducing a majority of the Crawl Errors. Since doing so, I've noticed my traffic start to climb, yet I'm still in the thousands as far as HTTP Errors. If anyone has a pretty solid robots.txt file, please share yours here. Here's my current robots.txt file: User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 10 Sitemap: /sitemap.xml Disallow: /admin/ Disallow: /cache/ Disallow: /converge_local/ Disallow: /hooks/ Disallow: /ips_kernel/ Disallow: /retail/ Disallow: /public/style_captcha/ D…

There are a lot of default settings in the ACP but auto-subscribe isn't one of them. Is it possible to add a new default setting for this one? I think vb has such an option.

I wanted to suggest a related topics feature for IPBoard, so when your done viewing a topic, you can see a list of related topics. According to Googles Matt Cutts, a related content feature is a great SEO tool, and he mentioned that youtube gets more views from the youtubes related content than it does from those who show up on youtube to watch a single video. In other words, users end up viewing a bunch of related videos after they watch the video they originally came to watch. Any chance IPB could implement a related content feature?

VNC > Forums Please add a subheader: Forums First Newest | Topics | Last Post Many members do not know that they can click the icon to get the newest post. Nor do they know they can click the date to get to the last post. This subheader should clear it up. You could also add "Last Post:" before the date, because many members click the member name by mistake. Just some added clarification, but if you consider that clutter, please consider the subheader. That would solve a lot of confusion. Also it would be nice if the entire field was activated for the newest post. The icon is very small. Thanks

Hi, im enable gzip module on my web site, and it work fine for files like that (http://site.com/public/style_css/css_1/ipb_print.css) But script use the biggest JS & CSS files http://site.com/public/min/index.php?g=js http://site.com/public/min/index.php?charset=UTF-8&f=public/js/ipb.js,public/js/ips.quickpm.js,public/js/ips.hooks.js,public/js/ips.board.js,cache/lang_cache/2/ipb.lang.js http://site.com/public/min/index.php?f=public/style_css/css_1/links.css,public/style_css/css_1/calendar_select.css,public/style_css/css_1/ipb_editor.css,public/style_css/css_1/ipb_styles.css,public/style_css/css_1/ipblog.css and compression does not work for this stuff, its p…

You'll notice my previous recommendations (listed below) are becoming more geared towards the internet marketing people, which is a solution yet to fully be tapped into by IPS. [url=" [url=" [url=" [url=" [url=" [url=" #5 and #6 are particularly important for markets wanting to sequence automated article publications for their monthly subscription-based membership sites. My 7th thread, this one I'm making right now, is to suggest the same marketing feature of automated publications, except for bulk-emails. What I'm suggesting can be termed as Bulk-Email Scheduling. As the name suggests, admins would be able to setup automated emails that will sequentially be sent…

This is a very useful and highly active feature on my SMF forums. I've already bought a full IPB license recently, so after converting, i'm hoping to still have access to this functionality, even if it's going to be in 3.3, i can wait. Basically, here is how it works. When a member visits a board. There is a pinned topic in that board, which contains a list of all of the topics in that board. The list of topics contain the titles of all topics which can be clicked to visit the topic. The list is ordered alphabetically. On SMF, it has to be updated manually via a modification, but i'm hoping that IPB can do it one step further and better, by allowing an option in the ACP w…

If I'm following a topic, and theres been say 26 replies since my last visit, I've got 26 notifications for the same topic. :logik: Wouldn't it be better to have 1 notification, with it saying soandso and 7 others replied to this topic - so instead of adding 1 to the nofification it'll just change how many others replied.

Tags is a new feature for IPB, but what about all the years of posting that do not contain any tags? I hope you understand what i'm trying to say here, as the tags feature is only available since a few weeks to all IPB communities but for all the older posts, the tags must be added by manual editing. This is very tiring and time-consuming. It makes no sense having a tag system, when the millions of topics that have been posted before the release of the new IPB with tag support, are not tagged. In order to fix that lack of tags in older topics, the best solution would be allow a search feature in the ACP where based on specific keywords found in the first post of every to…

Just a quick feature suggestion for the search form on the language system (ACP): Include the search form on every language page on the top (near the "View Word Packs | Edit Language Info | Add String | Outdated Strings buttons). Why? For example, i search for a string, translate the string and now i must go back to the language pack overview to search again, with a "global search form" i can directly search again.

Hello, I would really like to see the ability to add comments to reputation added as well as the ability for admin and mods to edit positive/negative rep and said comments. The rep system as it stands now is basically worthless as a rep system. It is good as the likes system but that's as far as it goes. I purchased Trader Feedback just to fill the void left by rep system.

Hi, I'm very pleased with my hosting here at IPS. It's a basic hosting that I signed up to about 5 years ago. But recently they've done changes such as including the database storage into the my total amount of storage. It originally included 100MB and I've used about 70/100MB. The change of including the database have changed my usage to about 300/100MB. It seems they're doing changes to force me to change. I'm very pleased with what I've got so far but I really don't want to change to the new "10 online users" model... Disappointed. Best regards.

Just something that is a personal niggle really, but may be a similar issue for others: the two search boxes at the top-right of the IPS community forums - one for the forums, and a second one below for the Resources. Resources can be selected in the forums search box so why have a second one below? I've regularly entered a search query into the Resources box by accident - so how about removing the resources search, or perhaps flip the Resources search box so it is on the left side, with the links on the right? This way there won't be a visual cross-over between the two search boxes. Just an observation ... Cheers, Shaun :D

I love having Event RSVP'ing, as well as the new option of allowing users to un-RSVP themselves. What I'd like to see implemented is a limit on how many members can RSVP. For example, allow an event creator to specify the maximum number of attendees that can RSVP when they create the event, and disallow further RSVPs once that threshold has been reached. Most events can't support an unlimited number of people, especially if your members actually actively use the feature, although having a 'Enter 0 for no limit' option would be important if this were added.

If you are on a member's profile page and click VNC, it has Members selected by default. Now why would you be looking for new members coming from a profile page? It should default to Forums, as people are bouncing around the forum, but always looking for new posts, not new members. I understand Blog going to Blogs etc. but the profile page is part of the forum. Also I believe the Other options the bottom should not be saved, but be reset upon revisiting the page. I had "Just items I follow" saved and couldn't figure out why I could not see new posts. But I do like the Time Period settings in the center being saved. That is great. Thanks
