I'd like to see the removal of this: "One or all of your search keywords were below 3 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords." I appreciate that you might want a filter such as this for performance reasons / to reduce the number of answers back but wouldn't it be better to:- Drop the keywords that were below 3 characters Use the remaining keywords (if there are any) Return the results Tell the user you didn't include these words... I'd like to suggest a forum setting: Minimum posts to start a new topic My current personal application for this is a Classifieds forum where members can only start new sale topics once they've reached a certain number of posts. This stops traders invading the board trying to market to our membership. However, the only option on IPB at the moment is to set a minimum post limit for replies - this stops everyone below that level from participating. Also, if you want to limit new topic starting at the moment you need to use two usergroups with / without start topic privs. and a group promotion setting. Not ideal. Members who reply to topics need to know the rules as well as topic starters. The fact that they are now only in forum view is a big problem on my site. There are some forums where members only reply, in fact, forums can be set so members can only reply, and only admins can create topics. In these, they never see the rules. Please put these back or at least make it an option. Thanks

I find it strange that admin permissions can be restricted, but super mods are given full access with no way of restricting their capabilities. I would like to see a permission list similar to forum moderators that apply to super moderator status, as well.

As I said in the tracker (and was directed to the feedback forum), my users primarily used chat to show each other current photos of their horses, and the cries on switching to IP.Chat were long and bitter, because IP.Chat doesn't support the img tag. Now my chat room is empty. Make it admin-controlled if necessary, but give us an option to use the img tag.

Hi, I think that the ability for moderators to view chat logs would be very appreciated. Also, a button to report a user on the chat would be great too as it means you don't have to scroll through everyone single log and can just view a certain users logs. Hope you can add this to a future update of IP.Chat!

At the moment we have projects in IP.Tracker that include suggestion feature or not. I would like to have "Suggestions-only"-Projects, where users can post there suggestions and other can vote on this suggestions. The voting on suggestions is already realized in IP.Tracker, however there are still issues possible. And I would like to have pure suggestions projects.

In the Member group Global Permissions you can choose whether a group: Can view member profiles and member list? If I add a custom field to the member profile and set them to display in the user panel in posts, why does it not honor the same permission levels as to who they are viewable?

I noticed if you have guests enabled, you cant ban them from the room. you can only kick them.. is it possible to add ipbanning to guest users?

I love IPB but one thing that really annoys me is the search feature. If i use the simple search (not advanced) and search for "deleting administrator account" It returns no results. Even though i know there is a thread called "Deleting Original Administrator. Surely a search containing two of the three words should trigger a result.. The problem is, people always tell you to search for the answer that "has been posted 100 times" but unless you nail the exact search criteria you get nothing.... Well, that's what appears to be happening every time i have tried a search on these boards. Regards,

I had an idea in a few days ago, Facebook have a "Pages" option to add a new and stuff... the idea is to connect the board to facebook via ACP for specific page and when permitted user(admins for case) publishing a topic via page, the in a footer topic page appears a comments from Facebook publish. The members of the board could be replay via facebook and see comments in board , and if members connected via facebook in the board , he could leave a comment for facebook via board.

Wouldn't it be great to expose IP.Board data via REST API? As developers we need REST API methods to send and receive IP.Board data is some format like JSON or XML. I feel tags could be very useful for us when deciding to remove certain forums, but there is no option in multimoderation for adding tags upon action. It would then serve the same purpose as adding something to front or back of title, but I feel it would be really helpful to be able to add tag(s) aswell in multimoderation. (Of course, it should then be done a automatic check that topics didn't already have the tag, before adding it)

When guests permissions are set to not show members names ie clicking the members tab give a permission warning, guests can see the names of anybody who is registered for an event. There should be a toggle to either hide/show or hide the names by default to guests to follow the same permissions. I had a member pointing that out and she was upset google had cached her name as attending a certain event which could become a privacy issue. Also you should not simply hide the calendar for guests as the Calendar is a means to get more members. I've just figured out, that there's no searching for members by birth date. Seems pretty strange to me, since not everyone uses Calendar. On my board it's disabled, for example, so there's no way to find out, who have birthday even for tomorrow. Mind adding this feature? Not much work, I guess. Just and extra option.

My IPB licence has expired. I fully intend to renew it when 3.3 is released (or possibly for the public beta testing, or if I have a pressing support issue), but not before. The reason for that is that, frankly, I am unwilling to continue paying for the privilege of waiting for bug fixes (I don't need the additional features like the spam service). But I have now discovered that not renewing means I cannot download mods from the Marketplace for which I have already paid money to a third party. Hi, I'm using Bad world filters on my forum, which is fantastic. But I'm having trouble because with urls, which are also filtered with bad worlds. So when my members link to some pages, IP.Board transforme the url, and then it links to 404 errors pages. You should allow bad words in urls because it's not pertinent at all ! I noticed that when two topics are merged, all the tags from each topic are applied to the merged topic, even if they are the same, which can result in two or more identical tags being applied to the same (newly merged) topic. It would be nice if the merge function could check and remove duplicate tags.
