I had two topics that were merged (in the same forum) However, before they were merged, someone quoted the url of the topic in a post. I was surprised to see that url now gets a board message "We could not determine which topic you were attempting to view," rather than getting redirected to the new merged topic. Currently the design is that one of the topics is no longer valid. I think that it should point to the new topic and would like to suggest this as new behavior.

I am starting a forum (for mental and other health issues) that some members (because of multiple health symptoms) can post a new topic in more than one forum. I was wondering how easy would be to give the option to the users to list the topic in more than one forum and get input from both? Is this something difficult to get done?

One of the annoyances/dislikes/confusion/(add appropriate naughty word(s) here) since moving from IP.Board 3.x to 4.1 is with banned members. In pre-4.1 when a member was banned they would be nicely moved to a banned members group. When browsing through a topic and a banned members post was visible it was nice and easy to determine whom the banned members were/are. In 4.1 it's a bit unnerving in that I don't really know if a member was banned or not because there is no visual indication representing the member as being banned. The only way for me to do this now is to go in to AdminCP and view the member and look for the "adjust ban" button. If it is there then I know that…

When posting links from web sources is it possible to pull and format additional information from the source? We post a lot of news articles on our site. Rather than just pasting the link, I would like it to pull in linked image and an excerpt of the text like what happens on FB and G+. I would be more than willing to pay for this functionality as an application.

Hi Many publishers combine Invision board and wordpress on a same site, so it would be great to have a wordpress plugin to show last topics it used to exist : https://fr.wordpress.org/plugins/ipb-last-topics/ I would pay for this and i am not alone !

I had an issue earlier today where my board went offline and after several hours of self-service I threw in the towel and made a support ticket and within 5 minutes I had a response from @Rhett that helped me isolate the issue despite it not being software related. Now, it's obvious that this is my responsibility as I opted to host my own files but despite the circumstance, I was given guidance that led to the resolution of my issue. Thanks to you as well @Marc S for following up on my issue.

What are the reasons that prompted you to remove the checkbox from the first post of a topic? My moderation team ask me this a while ago, and I could not give a complete answer. Honestly I believe that in some cases the first post has equal "weight" than others, for example when we have a support topic without the need to have a first post introduction because it is related to title of topic or article on pages... {{if count( $item->commentMultimodActions() ) and !$comment->mapped('first')}} · <span class='ipsCustomInput'> <input type="checkbox" name="multimod[{$comment->$idField}]" value="1" data-role="moderation" data-actions="…

I like the addition of fluid view to the forum index. Good job, IPS! I'd like to suggest an option, via ACP, that will allow admins to enable/disable the forums for fluid view. As it is right now, it's all or nothing. While the simplifiedViewSidebar filter is a good start, it lists all of the available forums. As an admin, I only want some of the forums to appear in a topic list style, not all. For boards with a lot of forums, the simplifiedViewSidebar can get awfully long and messy. Yes, you can control the height with simple CSS, but then that defeats the purpose of a one-click forum filter. Then what happens to the forums that are disabled for forum view…

Oh God. What have I done. I went to go rebuild images. Is this an active process? That I need to babysit? For 180,000 images in my gallery?

In user permissions, there is an option to allow a member or group to hide their own post, article, or whatever. This is useful because a member might be working on an article and can hide it until it's finished. But there is only an option to hide their own posts, not to unhide them. And what happens is, as soon as the member hides whatever they're hiding, they immediately get this error message: I have members who are creating content for my site. But it remains visible while they're working on it, and if they hide it, it completely vanishes to them and they can't see it or work on it, or even make it visible again.

A little feedback on the gallery blocks. The image feed should be images. That is it. No title, no date, nothing else. People don't click on an image feed because of the date. People do click on an image feed because they like the image and want to see a larger version. Half of each thumbnail is taken up with name, date, title, etc. The actual image itself only gets half the space. That isn't good. Is it possible to strip down the image feed block to just a series of thumbnail images and nothing else?

If you're in a topic/item with multiple pages and on a page where the first unread post is either "not on the same page" or "first unread is not the top post on the page"; could you add a button at the top of the page you could click to go to the first unread post in the topic. It could be something as simple as adding the unread marker next to the page title, for example. Or a button positioned on the right hand side, on the same line as the pagination. Thanks for considering.

Is there anywhere yet where we can turn a URL into a title within a post? So that https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/ becomes Forums- Invision Commuity automatically

Most social networks support mentioning by first name. So once you @-mention someone, their whole user name appears, but you can then click backspace, leaving the first name only. This makes conversations sound more natural. Currently I’m overriding this by editing HTML source, but that’s of course not available for usual members.

Having started to use the calendar for events the lack of being able to repeat events on a particular weekday is rather lacking. Many events repeat on say the third wednesday of a month, yet this is not possible. Yes you can repeat on say the 5th of every month but events rarely work like this as the 5th is a different day each month. Would be great if someone could even release this as a hook. Thanks!

I think each user should decide on his own whether he wants to see pinned topics or not. It can be a simple checkbox somewhere in the forum widget on the right. There are valid reasons to hide pinned topics - when many forums are selected with many pinned topics they will hide the most recent discussions). There are also valid reasons to show the pinned topics - when fewer forums are selected, one or two pinned topics wouldn't hurt and actually pinned topics usually represent the most important piece of information. Pardon me if I am wrong, but in fluid view with hidden pinned topics there is no way to get to these topics? In my opinion whether to show or hide…

Currently we have the choice of whether to exclude club content in the unread content stream: I think it would be great to have the option to include unread club content for the clubs the user has joined only. That way users can see the unread content for clubs they belong to, but not the content from clubs they have no interest in.

I would like to see a membership group have the ability to appoint a "leader" who can approve/disapprove anyone trying to join the membership group. For my site, personally, it will give me the ability to create a clan membership group, appoint the clan leader as the "group leader" who can then approve/disapprove members requesting to join. Basically you can turn your membership group into a "moderated user group" that can be closed, free for anyone to join, moderated, or closed.

I'm experimenting with the new Fluid View. I have forums that are 4 levels deep with hundreds of forums total. The sidebar widget would work much better if the subforums are only shown if the parent forum is selected. I have 6 root categories each with an average of 4 or 5 subforums in each root category. Each subforum has zero to ten subforums. Some of these subforums have a few subforums themselves. With all forums visible, the sidebar is very long and hard to read. It would be better to unhide children subforums when the parent forum is checked and hide the children when the parent forum is unchecked.

Hello, Could you make the URL to the comments area go to the first unread comment instead of your current link? I'm quite tired of having to maintain my own template edits in this area. Your link is for example: <li><a href='{$entry->url()}#comments' title='{lang="view_comments"}' class='ipsType_light'>{lang="num_comments" pluralize="$entry->num_comments"}</a></li> Without the following custom template edit instead, our members complain a lot: <li><a href='{{if \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->member_id}}{$entry->url('getNewComment')}{{else}}{$entry->url()}#comments{{endif}}' title='{lang="view_comments"}' c…
