I'm sure URLs for tags used to be friendlier, but at the moment they appear to appearing like so: .../search/?tags=gaming But they used to look like this (and I can see a lot of errors for these URLs in Webmaster tools): .../tags/forums/gaming .../tags/ccs/gaming I've looked at the friendly URLs option in the ACP and haven't been able to replicate this so far, or at least get something similar. Anybody have any experience of getting this working? I was still using the default options so I don't know if this feature was maybe dropped or inadvertantly missed off the release version.

Am I overlooking an option somewhere? I note on the Bug Tracker that we can report a record but not quote it. On my own site I can see that I can report one or edit it, but not quote it. I'm allowing comments and it's possible to quote them but still not the original record. Shouldn't it be the case that if you're allowing comments, then you ought to be able to quote from the original record too? Scenario: My record is a task I would like an employee to carry out. I've added some smaller points (often questions) within the task. She's responding to it and would ideally quote the individual bullets. Since there's no option to do so, she's instead copied and pasted the text…

has anyone else noticed that the setting to default the number of days to display posts for a forum is gone? Is this by design, or a bug? I have a classified section that I default to 30 days so old posts aren't visible, now I don't see a way to set that in 4.0

Hello, After updating the community yesterday to 4.0.6, me and my users noticed that the block Custom Topic Feed put at the top of the forums page, started being cached. For example, a user made a post 10 minutes ago, and it caches those values. If another user does post, the values do not update, however it does update correctly using the tab "New Content". If I do cleanup cache the values do update, however of course I don't want to do it manually everytime to fix it. Any suggestions?

Ok, So I was about to tear my hair out after upgrading to 4.0.6 as the emoticons stopped working and begun showing just images parsed wrongly, I went to support > clear cache about 4 times....still no joy. Went back in having already raised a ticket and ran it 3 times in a row.....it freaking fixed it. Is this a bug, or does something go on in the background that takes super long? @Matt @Charles But YAY, we're beginning to look like we have a stable release. VERY pleased with 4.0.6

Hi, I want to edit the following two pages in the Moderator CP, but I can't find the html files for each page. The first page is the 'edit member' page ( which appears after you enter a member's name in the Member Management section of the MCP). The second is the 'IP search result' page (which appears after you search for an IP in the IP Address Tools section of the MCP). Does anyone know the filenames? Thanks in advance.

I'm in admin side and see there is a new update, and now its just stuck on the Preparing your update... for abotu 30mins, tried multiple times. I don't get why a board can have so many problems, one thing after another. Is there a way to download just the new update? not on the admin side.

I looked at my settings and the permissions are there for people to comment on my articles like this page: http://silverinvestors.co/index.php?/articles.html/pms-general/investment-plan-gold-and-silver-r7/&tab=comments but when my dad wanted to comment he said it wouldn't let him, says there is no comments to show but when I log in to my admin account I can? Hello, Unfortunately I have no where else to post. Yesterday Matt Mecham performed some post updates on my database manually to resolve downloads not working after 4.0.5.1. Since then multiple areas of the suite have broken. Widget manager won't open, ckeditor isn't working for most members, menus aren't working on tablets. Various widgets are not working right. To make matters worse, my computer died, so I cannot manually upgrade to 4.0.6 to see if it resolves the issues. I tried to log into my client center here to put in a ticket to investigate these issues and hopefully upgrade, but it will not let me log in on my tablet. It just gives me a invalid password erro…

I'm wondering how one would use php in a template, in version 3 it was just <php> </php> Anyone have more info/ an article on changes on parsing etc? this wont work: {{echo "hello";}}in fact if I do that nothing at all is displayed (encoding error) so it seems to break the site, although it is the way according to the docs: http://community.invisionpower.com/4docs/advanced-usage/development/template-logic-r73/

Hello, I'm getting ready for my grand opening of my site with a big media blitz but need help with a couple of tweaks 1st. Here's my current site: http://www.nwachat.com/ 1. I'd like to have my logo & text up top on left in a long white strip across the top 2. How can I change my forum icons so that they stay full color all the time and not faded? 3. I'd also like to insert an image across the top and be able to change it when I want. 4. By doing these changes, do I risk my license and future customer support? I have 2 different licenses which show different "update available" in Dashboard... In the license updated at v4.0.5.1 shows that version 4.0.6 is available But in license updated at v4.0.4 shows that version 4.0.5 and 4.0.5.1 are available, but nothing about v4.0.6 Happens the same to others?

Hi, I downloaded IP board and IP content and activated it to try it. Now I've found a web developer that need to download, install and activate the license locally ( I guess he's using WAMP ) or online. But when he tries to do that, it's not possible because the license already is activated. I guess it's because I have done that on my computer locally. How do I deal with this? Best, Stig

I've given a particular group on my suite the full set of permissions on a certain database, including the ability to edit records and the relevant fields. Since I'm mainly the person setting up these records (they're tasks which I'm delegating to them and which feature fields indicating whether the task is open or closed) my intention is that they'll be editing the content, if needed, and certainly the fields. However, if they haven't created the record themselves, then they're unable to edit them or the field; seemingly the permissions to edit records and fields are limited to one's own. Is that right? If it is, what could I do to make it possible for them to edit all r…

Can someone tell me how to restore a deleted member with their posts? One of my super mods somehow deleted her entire account. She claims that she was in the UCP and changed her name twice and her account was deleted. Which doesn't make sense to me really, because if that were true that is a HGUE and critical bug for IPB4 and one(unless I am blind) would've been made into a huge big deal much like the removal of Friends list and post numbering. But she claims that she wasn't in ACP/Mod cp and I don't see any reference to her logins....but somehow her account was deleted and I need to figure a way to fix her.

We use Nexus to handle the subscriptions to our forums. Unfortunately a notification only goes out after the subscription has expired. We would like to have a notification go out about a week before it expires. Can that be done?
