Hi guys, I am currently planning on evolving my german only community (suite) to a multi-language plattform. Wile "static" elements of the webites are well handled by IPS Translation Tool, I am currently struggeling in finding the best way of how to publish 1 news (article/entry in Pages database) in both, german and english as well as some other in near future?! How can i set custom FURL for each language? And all the other pages related content. Each Database has more likely the same issue.. Are there example websites using IPS for true support of multiple languages?! Any further advice of what to take care of?

Setting a Discussion Forum as homepage if more than one forum exists? I currently have my site set up the way i would like but! The way i have my forums set up is possibly causing permission errors when moving threads between them. Now the reason i have it set up this way is because i need to have the "Main forum" discussion forum work as the homepage. with menu items acting as navigation to other forums. It's been a long time and I'm a little rusty... I have a database backup of a community I used to run and want to reopen on IPB 4 by upgrading from 3. I have uploaded the IPS files of the app versions matching the database backup. Now, do I install the suite first (after creating an empty database), or do I first upload the database backup and install afterwards? I tried the former first and got some weird error which I don't recall ever seeing before.

I'm having an issue with the menu manager interface. When I create a menu item, then drag items to make a submenu it works as intended. If I edit the submenu item AFTER, it goes crazy. After it does this, the menu item does not show on the front end. I've included a picture to show what I'm talking about. I've encountered this on a migration board and a fresh install of IPSv4.

I have a few hundred members who's email address is in the system, but no longer valid. Many of them are following specific forums, topics, and albums and have their settings to receive emails. Unfortunately, since their email addresses are no longer valid *I* get all the bounces to my email address. Every other weeks or so I will get over a 1,000 messages sent at one time to my inbox. So how do I fix this? Is there a way to easily un-follow everything for all members? Am I the only one with this issue? Is this a server problem? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

So the last reference to this specific question I found was posted in 2014. Sadly with no replies (really? Nothing?). I'm bringing this back up because I'd really like an answer as to why this can't be done. I've had multiple situations now where this would have come in quite useful. Im assuming however when I think about it, it has to do with a responsive layout and how the site is shown on mobile devices such as small phones? Is there an application or plugin that can make this possible? I'm again assuming there isn't as I'm sure every theme that exists right now for 4.x.x would be broken. Some clarification or insight into this would be great.

Ignore that: Just found the button to disable. My bad Is there anyway that we could disable a language rather than having to delete it? Since we come from the UK, I created a copy of the US language and translated it. I want to know if I can safely delete the US language now, or can I disable it to stop showing all over the place when I am editing board settings? Cheers,

Does IPB 4.1 convert embedded items/links such as Twitter and Facebook etc? All our Twitter links are not showing after the update from 3.4 to 4.1 and I have not been able to find any settings regarding this. Am I missing something? Thanks,

Hi guys, Ever since migrating from XF to IPS we are getting reports from members saying that their passwords will not work even though they are correct. This happened to my Admin account once as well and I had to get another admin to reset my password. Often the reset email never arrives, even though other emails usually do. I have asked IPS to debug this but they couldn't replicate it. Other IPS customers have complained of something similar here and here. We are losing members and I would like to know if someone (IPS staff or otherwise) can help to fix this. These are some examples of the comments I am getting from members, there are stacks more:

I'm looking for a way to reset all notification setting for the entire site of all the members. I want to alter all notifications to OFF position and then alert the members to adjust them properly to meet their needs. So is there any MySQL toolbox command that could do this?

I'm looking to be able to create a block on my homepage which pulls the full first post of any new topic in a given subforum. The Post feed pulls in all posts, even replies to the original post. The Topic feed shows the topic titles but doesn't pull the post content. The RSS feed block also only pulls the topic title. Is there any way to get what I'm trying to do? I really don't want to have to look all news posts just to get this displaying properly.

First, and again, thanks for everyone's patience. IPS Board is new to me after running a board for 14 years on different obsolete software. When I receive Contact Us emails generated by Members or Guests of the Board ( Link at bottom) they arrive to my email InBox in a very strange format; with huge return spaces between sentences etc, really a jumbled mess and hard to understand/read I have the Board itself set so there is no paragraph spaces on returns if that matters. Any ideas on how to set my Contact Us emails so they are normal when received?

I have just upgraded from v3 to v4 and my final job is to restore my smilies. At the moment the board by default is looking for them in /uploads but that will be pretty messy. So I would rather they be in uploads/smilies folder. Where do I edit the board within the ACP to change the path for the boards smilies? Thanks. Ashley.

My users are having trouble where suddenly images from third-party URLs like Imagur are no longer working. There's just the broken image box. For some reason, pictures from Flickr are OK. But nothing else. For example: http://imgur.com/gallery/Evxvt Any thoughts?

Hi again, :-) So I have a blank page. What I would like on that page is, a blog feed 'block'. I would like to limit the feed to that of 3 members blogs. (there is an option to do this in the edit block) My issue... It will only allow me to create a feed for 1 member rather than the list of 3. I cannot see anywhere that says make this a recurring payment in the store. Usually with paypal its a subscription button and its all automated without the person having to do anything more. However ( I might be wrong) it seems that they will need to login to the store each month to see renewals that are due and to click to pay. Any ideas please?

Hi, I have an SQL database file of an IPB 3 community I ran in 2014 and prior. I have just installed IPB 4. Is it okay to import this database via phpMyAdmin/bigdump or should I have first installed IPB 3 and upgraded to IPB 4 from there?

So I am working on customizing this theme for a clients store and I am running into this issue and for the life of me I cannot fix it. Can someone please take a look and see if you have a fix for it. Basically right before it goes to mobile view while looking at the products in List View instead of fitting to the browser size it puts a horizontal scroll bar to view the rest of the page.
