How do I update my forum from v4.1.11.1 to the latest version on GoDaddy shared hosting and from FTP and Database backups? I was on an old hosting account that didn't have high enough version pf PHP and MySQL and wasn't able to keep updating as new version became available. So now I'm trying to do a fresh install to the latest version of the forum software on GoDaddy shared hosting plan. Just need to know how to do it. Been a long time since I've done anything, so I need a lot of help! 😀

Hi Guys My support tickets seem to have vanished from the Client Area. I have always used this link https://invisioncommunity.com/clientarea/ It shows me as logged in but there are no tickets there plus the option to add a new one has gone too. Am I still in the correct place or is there a specific url for tickets now?

I've been locked out of my test installation, which is strange because I'm sure that I had the right password saved in my browser but after the very first login attempt I get a message that I've been locked out and try again in 14 mins. This doesn't seem to expire. Is there a way to tweak a value or something on the file or SQL level to reset this so I can at least verify/change the password? Thanks! EDIT: problem solved

Had to roll MySQL back from a backup recently, and the forums came up, but getting various DB errors--particularly when trying to upgrade to v4.6.7 In particular, the upgrade fails with a '[myforumname].core_anonymous_posts' doesn't exist Any idea how to recreate/fix this? -Pete Possibly relevant: my other forum, which had not been upgrade to 4.6 previously, does not have this issue. Is there a way to re-run the upgrade from 4.5 to 4.6 (which, presumably, created this table?) -Pete

Finally I have just figured out why I am seeing this message. It's really sad there were no error logs to show, and we have tried before to find what causing this in this topic. The bug is related to the new anonymous content new feature. How this message shows. Forum that has allow anonymous content feature enabled. Hello all, I have 2 IPS sites, one with 15,000 members and another with 150,000 members. I would like to use the Bulk Mail feature for the first time to send out an e-mail blast to update the members on some changes. I don't see options for X mail / minute, and i presume if i were to click "SEND", this would crash my server due to the sheer number of members. Does Invision throttle the sending of emails to something that is acceptable to the server or are there any settings that i can change/update? I prefer not to use an external/paid mail server if possible i.e. Mailchimp, etc Thanks in advance!

I moved to a new host and emails send to people who wanted to sign up got a link they needed to click for verification that had an "url1128" appended on it. I fixed that. But then I moved to yet another host because the previous one couldn't handle this software and I'm now am facing the exact same problem and I just cannot for the life of me remember what the solution was. On top of that I deleted all email correspondence that could tell me how to fix this, so this is a lot like 'Obi-Wan you're my only hope' question. Is there an easier way for my wife to add products to her store (Commerce) without having to log in, go to AdminCP and log in once again. Then navigate the menus until she finally gets to the Products section. Wouldn't it be much easier, faster and slick to be able to add products via the + Create link on the page's menu?

Hello! I created 2 custom profile field's but the title's aren't showing in topic's content, here are 2 screenshot so you can understand better. Settings: Profile field's: As you can see im using the right settings (display format for topics) and the code: <strong>{$title}:</strong> {$content} but the title of the field still doesn't show, only the content. I want the title and the content, any ideas? Maybe i did something wrong. -_-

Hoping there may be an answer for this. A member is having issues, because his iPad cannot view either of our two communities (which are updated to the most current). In forums with restricted access members from some groups can't find any content via search engine (MySQL) althogh they have full access to these forums. Members from different groups with full access find all hits via search engine!? Rebuilding search index didn't helped. Does anybody have an idea?

Hello Invision Community, I had update my community's forums to version 4.6 this morning. By doing so, my login method (previously solely relying on Steam Integration) had broken, resulting in me not being able to access my forums' AdminCP or register a new account. In attempt to remedy the issue, I (foolishly) got confused by Invision's customer panel and paid $15 to move the forum to another domain, where I created another installation, in hopes of reverting my forums back to default settings (while keeping my MySQL data) and then switch back, however, this simply resulted in a 500 error: "An error occurred (500 Error)" When trying to reach the AdminCP …

Hi All, We moved to a new VPS and followed the provided IPS guide. I can login to the ACP without issue and it seems to be working fine. Problem: 404 Error URL Not Found when trying to login. URL is <mycommunity>/login Any help would be appreciated. Thanks I put IPS in Recovery Mode and it didn't fix it. I ran the IPS4.php checker and its all green.
