Templates should only compile once after either upgrading, or clearing all datastores (which won't happen many times if at all in normal use). When templates rebuild, 99% of the time they rebuild on the first go without needing the attempts loop and sleep. That is there to catch the 1% of times that some random event on the server means the templates weren't compiled properly (possibly because a previous attempt has a lock on the template rebuild). The sleep just pauses for 1 second to allow the lock to be lifted by another process.

So in short, that sleep should only very rarely be hit and won't be run on every single page load.

That is the only time we deliberately add a sleep() call.

As for the loading of the PHP files, I have no idea why there would be any latency but using a compiler like OPcache should negate that.

The barrier here is that the language system is just a list of keys with a translation. There's no way to link a specific key to a specific page.

We'd need to rewrite the language system to allow it to be searchable, and that's no small undertaking.

We do add specific keywords to the ACP though so you can find areas.

I only said what my personal preference was. It's been a long long time since we coded Ikon Power Community Suite 4 just for my own personal tastes.

We realise dark mode is a thing and people seem to like it. As mentioned above, the app has a dark mode. Whether we can being dark mode as a theme option rather than a totally new theme is another matter. We will discuss it but as we have a gazillion things we want to do, it won't get massive priority.

There's a bunch of good dark themes in the marketplace already.

    Hi all,
I have a request that will only take a few minutes of your time, and will give you something in return.
We're finally getting around to creating books and guides to help new customers get comfortable on the Invision Community platform.
I'm looking for a few positive quotes and 'soundbites' we can use on a few pages around the site, on social media and in these guides.
Hopefully you've got nice things to say. @LaCollision gave us a very nice quote a while back.
    So things like:
That sort of thing. If you have a specific use for Invision Community, then we'd love to hear from you.
If you are happy to leave a comment, please also leave your name and URL to your site.
If the site is safe for work, then we'll link back to it when using any quotes on our site and on social media.
We get a fairly health bit of traffic so I'm sure you'll get a good number of click throughs too.
If we get 20 useable quotes, I'll post an exclusive picture of Charles and Lindy holding a hotdog from 2008. I did not seek their permission before making this promise.
    Thanks for reading!
