I never knew about this!!
I am going to give this a go and see how it goes
I don't use all methods as users get annoyed with having to try and jump through hoops to join a forum and if they don't get it all right they get fed up and don't bother

Also... the 4.7.3 Beta 1 notes show:
Removed some verbose logging from the PHP 8 scanner. So this extra logging detail won't be around in the next release it looks like.

Subscriptions and Products are separate purchasable items in Commerce. Subscriptions are essentially simplified renewable Products (e.g. Products that renew in a defined period like a subscription).

I will stay on PHP 7.4 for now then until a fix is found

That appears to be related to this issue:
This is something which our team is investigating in relation to PHP 8.
Reverting to PHP 7.4 may fix the problem for you, until we find the underlying cause.

Thanks stu_m, my colleague said that he already changed the path in php.ini file, but we also should change it in the user.ini file.
I'll post the update once we make neessarry changes.
Thanks again!

This is something which our team is investigating in relation to PHP 8. Which your experience makes sense here that it works going back to PHP 7.4.

A 'Publish immediately' moderator option could be useful - a decision may be made to make a number of topics (set for future publishing) immediately available. Select them in the topic list, click a button and confirm is quicker than editing them all manually

thanks for the offer stu,
I have requested the root account back from them. I could have fixed this myself by now but lack of access is causing an issue. plus i want all the access I can get to move everything over to a new host. We are in discussions with local company to do this.
Thanks

No, it was indeed the php config, but if you have already changed, all good. It was just something I noticed in your screenshot 🙂

Fixed!
I installed php56 and refreshed which then said there is nothing to upgrade then it all worked fine 😕
So it looks like some sort of config issue

Yes it is. There was nothing in the last update that broke compatibility with 4.6.

stu_m reacted to Davyc in Hump Day: what are some of your community pain points?
@Jordan Miller You raise some interesting and valid points in your posts, but you always refer your attention to 'business' and forget that there are thousands of hobbyist clients who tend to get left out. It may not be your intention to do so, but whenever you post something it always includes the word 'business'. This may seem like nitpicking and IPS may be more focussed on business clients, but there are others who contribute to the IPS coffers. It may be prudent to be more inclusive so those who created the foundation for IPS are not left feeling out.
To the point of your post. As a hobbyist and someone who enjoys the experience of a forum based site (at present I get more of a kick from the creation aspect rather that the using thereafter) the drag of SM is the sore point when it comes to generating interest and contributors. It's not that what we hobbyists do that may appear uninteresting, it's getting people off the SM wagon into a new environment. There are probably numerous contributing factors that may lie at the root cause for this lack of interest, but that is the big issue for hobbyists. Finding a niche that has not been covered already and has sufficient interest from a large number of people to get the ball rolling is really tough, and it doesn't matter what software is employed in a new venture; WordPress, IPS, Xenforo, Simple Machines, MyBB the list goes on.
Using SM to generate interest is a non-starter. I use Twitter to promote my site and my Tweets drive traffic because what I post is apparently of interest, but it's a one way ticket because the people consume the content and then return to Twitter to comment on it rather than register and comment directly at the source.
I doubt that I'm alone in this parody of high interest on SM but low interest in registering at the source of the interest. It's a symptom of the way people engage in this day-and-age. It seems as though it's an effort to go through the short process of registering. The other factor could also be that they are not interested in spending time learning how to use a system that may appear to be cumbersome to use on their mobile devices.
Sign of the times perhaps.

Hi,
On mobile, our moderators team finding taking action on user like warning or flag user as spammer force them to go to the user profile and do it from there, any way to do it within the post view, I really search on modification plugin on download but nothing come up.
Anyone come across to this and direct me to it.
Thanks in advance.

stu_m reacted to AlexJ in Provide option to delete
Can we enhance members tab page, so that list members can be selected ALL or Checkbox ones - to easily delete them.
For example: Under banned members or spammers - option to select and delete the members, would be very helpful.
It would be nice to have some IPS 3.4.x features back!
Thanks.
