This remains on our list but there are some technical challenges to overcome based on the relationship between transactions, packages and invoices.

We want to add it too, but it’s pegged for a time when we need to perform major surgery in those areas.

I don’t have anything concrete to share, but we had a high level conversation about making tagging more useful last week, so I would expect we’ll be aiming for some changes in the near future.

So I have been revamping my main site for ages today and it reminded me how much I loathe the "Create" link.
It shows you EVERYTHING you have access to submit if your database name and the record name are the same they are redundant as hell (Submit Record to Records) and this is even more prevalent when you use a single category setup instead of having multiple categories.
On top of that (and I'm submitting this in a separate topic) Pages databases are a mess in it.
I recently revamped my Create link, though I can't fix all of my issues I was able to take it from this:

    To this:

While some of that (I'd say about five from the first section) are admin/staff only it doesn't make that list any less daunting or confusing for an end user.

    So my issues:
No option in order. It currently follows an App order to put it into the list and for Pages they are all listed in whatever order they want looking at it now. No option in what shows in here. If I want a database to be submitted from only one page I can't tell the create menu (without editing the template) what not to show. Create is too vague of a term. I changed my verbiage to "Quick Create Content" to see if it gets used any more than it had been before as it stands even though it moves with the site I still don't think my members know what it is or how to use it.
What I want is something where you can mange what shows up and in what order. People are already inundated with how much stuff can be on any one site, it would be good not to overload them with looking through a long list of what they can submit and focus them on your primary content sources.

I had a downloads cart developed for my site. One of the issues that I have ran into is something I didn't think about before hand.
If many items are in a cart and purchased at the same time, then the customer wants a refund on just 1 of the items in the cart things become tricky.
The refund feature will refund the entire purchase and not just the single item.

Therein lies your problem. 'you think it would enhance your forum' - have you asked your members what they think of this solution towards politeness?  After all, asking on here is one thing and you have had your responses from a few who have taken the time to respond, but what about your members? They are the ones who are going to have to live with this if you are able to implement it.  I believe their feedback would be more valuable to you than any on here.
As for this idea to stop people in their tracks and make them think before they post, it has the potential to stifle their desire to respond; emotions and passion are essential to good debate, these elements are what 'make people think' - this doesn't mean they have to be offensive, that's what your rules are there for, to remind them what is and isn't permissible. If anyone steps over the line, then you and your moderators are there to step in and do the job you're there for.  You have an inbuilt warning system, use that instead of penalising the many for the transgressions of the few.
Personally, if this was implemented in the core and it was not optional, I would go elsewhere for my community software.  I would not impose this on my members, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, it's your site, your forum, you do as you think best, but this is definitely not for the core, ask a developer to make this plugin/app for you, but I really would ask your members first if they believe this to be a good idea.  Do a poll, so they don't even have to say what they think 🙂

    @Jordan Invision @Joel R
I agree with everything Joel says about gamification, and please forgive me if I speak naively as I'm not in-the-know with this stuff the way others are here, but here goes:
I don't at all mean to diss gamification and the development of an online community, but my initial focus was on a Points system which is more overtly "business-focused" instead of focused on community development (if that distinction makes sense).  To wit: geared toward clients who come to a website in search of a particular service they are set to pay for, and not necessarily or primarily bound together by common interests which would be more amenable to things like trophies, leaderboards, new user activation, profile completion and the like.  Hence my personal preference for being able, say, to simply buy blocks of hours in the Store and have those hours immediately credited to a defined "Bank" connected with all the other goodies like email drips, notifications, possible transferability, etc.  I'll be selfish for just a moment longer and say that this would be a HUGE selling point for me (and I'll bet some others here).
If I'm creating a distinction where none exists and the gamification we're talking about includes what I've mentioned, I'll just shut up 😄 .

If IPS is serious about gamification, here are some foundational points:
Entire suite -- Not just forums. Not just apps.  But the entirety and power of the full Invision suite: uploading a cover photo, filling out a profile custom field, writing a status update, making a blog post, RSVPing to a calendar event, getting a post marked as best answer, creating an album, renewing a subscription for the sixth time, winning second in the leaderboard, getting an item promoted.      Weighted -- Writing an in-depth long-form blog is very different from uploading one image, but IPS weighs them the same as one content item.  They shouldn't count the same.   Customizable -- I would like a gamification system to be customizable to exclude / include nodes, categories, and apps.  How I reward my users is very different than how you run your community or how Invision runs its community.  How we offer member journeys will be as diverse as our communities.   Clubs -- I would like a gamification system to include clubs.  Not nearly at the same amount of customization, but each club deserves its own basic set.   Meaningful -- The rewards should be: Immediate, Recognize the relative difficulty of the accomplishment, and Provide the steps needed to get to the next reward.   Typical reward: "Congrats, you won a badge for making X posts." Better reward: "Congrats, you won a badge for making X posts, an accomplishment that puts you into the top 10% of users.  Your next badge is at Y posts." Attention Grabbing -- If a tree falls in a forest and no notification is sent out, does anybody care?  Gamification needs to have movement, to have excitement, to be dynamic, and offer a call to action.      What I'd like for gamification to address:
Profile onboarding - I've logged in to the accounts of multiple users over the years, and every single one has totally ignored the Profile Completion.  I would love to actually see usage statistics on larger sites, but at least on my site, most users don't care about Profile Completion.  I'd rather deprecate Profile Completion in favor of Gamification.   New user activation - There needs to be multiple calls to action within the first X minutes, where X is the site's average session duration. I've seen first-hand how if I can talk live to a user when he first joins, his posting skyrockets at least over that session. There needs to be activity, excitement, and movement within that first session duration.      Member pathways - Users find fulfillment in many ways in our communities. We need to empower them to both progress along certain member pathways while encouraging them to also explore other pathways.

Yes but they are listed as individual forums, so if you have 50 clubs...enjoy scrolling your page on the traditional forum view home page.

One thing that stops me from utilizing clubs with forums is how each club is displayed within the forum. If categories are to come out, let them be categories in the forum or better yet, let club forums be sub forums under a category or forum for strictly display reasons in the traditional forum view.

    Thanks for clarifying.
My initial instinct was that I must be missing something, as it's the kind of thing you'd just assume would be included - which probably suggests it would be a very useful feature.
I imagine if this were an option at least, there's a lot of Downloads customers who would want to enable this for their sites. From a user perspective, I am far more likely to buy multiple things at once, than go through the checkout individually one at a time (especially for small cheap files).
I'd probably use this feature on the IPS marketplace too. I can already imagine adding a couple of themes & plugins to my basket as a bit of a shortlist, then ordering them (all at once) later on.
The topic of chargebacks came up recently as well - this would help with that. It would be better for someone to buy several things in one transaction, than lots of things in separate transactions, as that significantly increases the total amount of chargeback risk & fees that could be incurred.

    Thanks, that's great to know!
Presumably the admin cp lazy loading setting has to be enabled for the loading="lazy" code to work?
We are in an odd situation where we actually don't want lazy loading for forum attachments, but would like it in other areas like profile pictures.

After researching about this, browsers have now native lazy loader. We only need to edit the templates to add:
    loading="lazy" To all img tags.
    I edited the following templates:
    core > front > global
    reactionBlurb
    reactionLog
    reactionOverview
    reactionTabs
    reputation
    userPhoto
    userPhotoFromData
This enabled lazy loading for user photos and reactions, and the "Defer offscreen images" warning from Google Lighthouse is now gone! 🙂
(I also made the same edit in my cms custom templates)

    Yes it is! It's this:

I will say that my forum had the most traffic it's ever had in a 30-day period this last month, so I definitely don't think it has hurt me. To the contrary! Sure, I get some people that complain about it, but it definitely has helped with registrations:

Because guests / bots crawlers can view a few articles per day I don't believe it's had a negative impact 🙏
