I'm try to create communities with Clubs, we found so many time with need of a forum with privacy, as club owner would like create a forum where only visible by specifics members for differents projects, topics or departments.
    Please consider add this feature.
I think with this ability will super help to manage better topics privacy for different groups inside a club.

Right now in club I can create topics feature, it is a forum no? I mean if in that forum add ability to select which club members can see it. So as Club owner can create different forums(or topics) for differents groups as an entire community in the club.

So, just to make sure I understand what you understand, you think a user who sees Page 1 and Page 115 doesn't intrinsically understand there will be a Page 2, Page 3, and Page 4 in between them?
More importantly, how does adding a Page 2, Page 3, and Page 4 help a user understand the magnitude of a long topic that is 115 pages versus 15 pages versus literally any page length of 5 or more?

    In any case, other thoughts:
    1. Everyone is a critic of the default theme.
    2. The default theme is grossly inefficient in certain areas. On desktop, nobody cares. On mobile, we have to care.
    3. I think the better question to be asking is: based on heat analysis map or navigation pathways, do users actually click on Pages 2, 3, and 4 in a 115 page topic? My gut instinct says no.  I think the smartest approach would be to intelligently tie those pagination numbers to topic pages that are especially important, as per the Topic Summary.
    4. There's this whole area of research and investigation that should be done on ultra long topics.  How do we get users to be able to efficiently absorb the entirety of the topic? How do we create intelligent splits and divergences within the topic?

In a topics list item contains 2 links useful, one is the title (orange) , another one is the last post (orange).
    1. Please add a little background (or whatever you think is better as human design) to these elements, the purpose is have these elements as visible buttons to touch or click it in this Mobile age.
(sometimes new users just touching the item wherever because the app habit use)
Green arrows, these elements cause confusion to new users, when they touch the item card sometimes these links just take these users to a wrong place that is not what they want, sometimes old user happen too this accident.
    2. Disable these unused redirect links that cause accidentally confusion.
**** I think these 2 issues mentioned is a UI design problem of entire IPS.

Incomplete payments should not be called invoices. That's the first thing. That's the origin of this discussion
Client pays = a legal invoice will be generated. No payment = no invoice.
In Spain we do that distinction and we do not call those in invoices since the word invoice requires an actual payment. We use another word for invoices that are pending. By doing so, we avoid that confusion.

in fact i don't know if you know what you are talking about and know what an LMS is?
you say IPS is starting from scratch. A sufficient LMS is based on the presentation of courses in video or pdf format and the validation of these by validation quizzes.
    where is the head start?
it is rather IPS which disposes it by the management of user group and member ...
the only head start they have over IPS is in smartphone use because IPS has not been seriously concerned with this point for years.

And this is especially true because there have been developers here who have simply abandoned customers and in doing so have done their part to erode trust.  I can't speak for everyone, but I know I'm consciously scaling back third-party app investments until they prove themselves...learned by experience.
This is why simply saying that "at the end of the day it's the dev's choice" to do what they want, while true, sidelines the very important issue of customer confidence.

kmk got a reaction from OptimusBain in IPS 4.5.4: InnoDB tables are using Compact row format...
My hosting provider say that is bug of MySQL 5.6

I researched the matter further and it appears that there is a bug with MySQL 5.6 which does not allow the option of changing the default row format variable. The only way of changing the default row format is to specify this for each individual database table.

You can see more information on this bug at the link below:

    https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=58123

It appears that this matter has been resolved in MySQL 5.7 and the default row format can be modified via the global MySQL configuration file.

As such, what I can suggest is that we upgrade the server's MySQL version to 5.7.

Please note, however, that we are not able to confirm if all of your websites will be able to work correctly under the new MySQL version. The upgrade process cannot be reverted, as such, before we proceed, you should consult with a developer as to whether your websites will continue working with version 5.7.

Should you decide to proceed with the upgrade, you can contact us at any time so that we can perform it for you, after which we will be able to modify the default row format variable.

In business there is a concept called a whole product. You should study that. It is very frustrating to find a solution that is almost perfect and then be told "lol sorry you can't use it".
BIM YouTube Importer does not currently support importing an RSS feed but I am talking to the author about it.
    I made the following fixes:
In "interface/sliders/nivoslider.js" find the text that says "random" and change this to "fade" to get rid of the different transition changes in the Featured videos block.
In "Application.php" change line 283 from this:
    return "<iframe width='560' height='315' src='{$embed}' allowfullscreen frameborder='0'></iframe>"; to this:
return "<iframe width='560' height='315' src='{$embed}&rel=0&hd=1' allowfullscreen frameborder='0'></iframe>"; This will not prevent other videos from appearing after the video plays, but it will prevent videos from other channels from appearing. The "hd" tag will ensure the high-res video thumbnail is shown by default.
In all your themes you have in use, go to videobox > front > embed > player and comment out this entire block of code if you don't want to show the weird "external URL" / "Part 1" buttons:
    <br> <div id='playerPanel'> {{$serverID = \IPS\Request::i()->serverID > 0 ? \IPS\Request::i()->serverID : $current['vbs_id'];}} {{foreach $video->videoOnline() as $name => $server}} {{if \count($server['online']) > 0 && ( $server['groups'] == 0 || \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->inGroup( explode( ",", $server['groups'] ) ) )}} <ul class='ipsButton_split ipsMargin_bottom'> {{ksort($server['online']);}} {{$cnt = 0;}} <li class='ipsButton ipsButton_verySmall ipsButton_primary vbServerName' style='width: 100px !important;'> {$name} </li> {{foreach $server['online'] as $videoID => $row}} {{$cnt++;}} <li> <a href="{$video->url()->setQueryString( array( 'area' => 'online', 'serverID' => $row['vbs_id'], 'vid' => $videoID ) )}" class="ipsButton ipsButton_verySmall {{if $serverID == $row['vbs_id'] && $videoID == $current['vbo_id']}}ipsButton_light{{else}}ipsButton_veryLight{{endif}}" {{if $server['upload'] == 0 && $video->canEdit()}}data-action='managePart' data-videoid="{$video->id}" data-partid="{$row['vbo_id']}"{{endif}}> {lang="videobox_videopart"} {$cnt}{{if mb_substr($row['vbo_url'], -4) == '|end'}} {lang="videobox_end"}{{endif}} </a> </li> {{endforeach}} {{if $server['vbs_upload'] == 0 && $video->canEdit()}} <li> <a href="{$video->url()->setQueryString( array( 'do' => 'addNewPart', 'server' => $row['vbs_id'] ) )}" class="ipsButton ipsButton_verySmall ipsButton_veryLight" title='{lang="vb_addNewPart"}' data-ipsDialog data-ipsDialog-title='{lang="vb_addNewPart"}' data-ipsDialog-forceReload='true'> {lang="vb_addNewPart_icon"} </a> </li> {{endif}} </ul> <br> {{endif}} {{endforeach}} </div>

Clubhouse 101 is the new “forum” sensation based on audio.
For some time I have been asking for a better gallery APP to better support for video and to allow stories.
Maybe we should also consider audio posts, that could be translated to text by cloud services from google or amazon and vice-versa.

That's interesting lets see how this goes. If messages could be automatically reencoded to some 64kbps m4a or similar format to take as little space as possible that would be interesting indeed! And what else, for those who dont want or cant listen to there must be something like automatic closed captions. Like when you dont want to listen, you click and you get the transcript of what the person might have said.

I created a bucket with Backblaze and it has all the same settings as an S3 bucket, but I don't think IPB supports this yet.
It looks like this would reduce our file storage cost to about 25% what it is now.
    How does one do this?
As a medium / small tech company, IPS should really be doing everything they can to help build an ecosystem outside of the FANGS.

kmk reacted to annadaa in IPB as a LMS
I'm sorry but despite what you say I'm still pretty confident.
A promising LMS application was released in the summer of 2018 and it's almost 3 years since it is still in beta without any real evolution at the present time.
The logic of things is that one should stop believing in it and be realistic in seeing it since its development is clearly neglected.
But it seems that very soon a version with the integrated Quiz should finally be released.
Frankly, an LMS is really nothing special, complicated that cannot be done on IPS.
It is just a matter of being able to present schools, subject categories, lessons in video or downloadable PDF format, and make the school or lesson categories payable.
Thing that IPS can do very well as they have Commerce.
Regarding the management of groups and members, IPS is its strong point, word press is far behind.
Lots of things also on word press can sadly only be done from the admin panel.
And what is done from the admin panel here, IPS is much better and more user-friendly
The big problem is knowing it and understanding what is blocking at IPS, why today in 2021, they are still not a progressive web app.
And I do not understand that we can write a blog post just to announce the possibility of being able to post anonymously.
Normally a monthly article should contain at least 5 new items of this type as this is not an extraordinary addition.
The future of IPS, and it's what seems to be happening, I only see it in the core of its cms, chat, group management, member, user profile, private messaging and interactivity (hopefully) between member: points, badge, trophy, ranking.
By having integrated Zapier, IPS accepted that we may need an external alternative specialized on a typical product because it is their specialty.
IPS has its members, its groups but offers the possibility of using Zendesk for customer service because Zendesk specializes in this and IPS is not its foundation to focus on a powerful database for customer management.
If all you need is simple customer service, IPS offers you something for that integrated and not very expensive in comparison, but if you want something more powerful, here is zendesk that integrates easily.
The same can be done with someone who wants to write a sales page using the word press environment, with a registration on thrive cart, and then registration and management of the member in the IPS environment.
There is a different vision of the web and its future.
Regarding this point, LMS, I do not think that the strong point is in the simple possibility of being able to make the environment also available on a mobile application because that is the real concern, difference, for me that I see here between learn dash and an LMS on IPS.
I do not see anything extraordinary, to present lessons by categories in video format or in download. IPS can do this very well.
Regarding the interactivity between member or group, I am convinced that IPS is stronger but also in the user-friendliness concerning the administration as well as the admin panel for the webmaster.
I do not expect much from the design to display video or pdf, except for simplicity so no comparison to make here.
If I had to compare two LMSs my question is which LMS achieves high engagement and result rate at the lowest cost.
This is because the dropout rate in distance education is extremely high.
Design and everything else is only secondary ... especially what's best and simplest today is what's uncluttered and heavy with a lot of unnecessary stuff.
I expect more real progress on a rate of engagement and success for the students and this at a lower cost, because it requires careful monitoring of each member.
It is not possible to make everything automated, at some point you need to be in front of a real human, a real follow-up, and to have encouragement from a real human and no more from a score given by a quiz.
I think that gamification through achievement badges, points, scoreboards, and collective mutual aid in clubs can relieve the costs quite well in order to make it easier to bring real things into remote teaching.
Without it, the teaching and study environment will be boring and dropouts extremely high.
