G17 Media reacted to The Old Man in Please reconsider killing off Support in Commerce
With the Marketplace EOL and providers switching to or relying on their IPS sites, it's really not the time to also be losing the built-in Support Ticket system. Providers will need it more now than before and all the third-party offerings are not free after trials end, require additional sharing of client data and require integration. The integrated system with Commerce is so convenient and with the planned Commerce improvements even more so.
Please can you consider a stay of execution or perhaps even simplify it to make it less timely for IPS to maintain?
    Thank you.

Nice job, looks great! Any thought to additional future categories? Powersports (maybe that is under Cars) as an example and maybe Outdoors (for hunting, fishing, etc).

One thing that jumps out is that your choice of music hasn't improved with the new version.

There is no difference in the software for registration. Not to mention, I tested on communities of my own on both selfhosted and cloud 🙂.

Just adding this here ^ as another example.

This is a BUG I am nearly certain at this point.

That button should not be allowed to fire off multiple account creation queries.  There is logic to handle this sort of stuff and a sign up button should not be having this issue.

It's actually a bigger deal for me because many of my users are customers and sometimes they end up in different accounts each time they log in, leaving them wondering where the content is that they previously paid for.

It's scrambling my data base and upsetting people.

I was able to reproduce on @RevengeFNF site

I also have a test site that runs on an entirely different server with NO TRAFFIC of any kind. It's a server dedicated for my test site only.  It's running 4.7.12 and no plugins and I was able to reproduce there.

That's 3 completely separated environments where I can easily reproduce this.

Did you use mobile?  Can you take another look?

You would need to speak to cloudflare on this. The software is built to run with s3 directly, rather than through any 3rd party as described

Support for MySQL transactions in v5?
Database operations that insert/update rows in multiple tables should be grouped into a single transaction. This improves data replication and avoids data inconsistency from accumulating over time. This mainly affects content creation/modification.
Support for spatial data types and queries in v5?
I'd like to see full support for spatial indexes and queries on at least lat/long points.
Support for date and time types in v5?
I'd like to see full support for YEAR, DATE, TIME, DATETIME, and TIMESTAMP including fractional seconds for times stored in the database, e.g., TIMESTAMP(6) and TIME(6).
Also support many of the remaining data types as you can including binary and json data types.
I feel like the database layer has been neglected over the years in favor of the UX and hope that v5 will address this side of the SDK.

I hope you guys also have found a solution to the light/dark themes issue on copying and pasting.
    Dark Theme = Already done.
    Light Theme =  Already done.
In many cases, it's much worse because the text is unreadable.
The problem has already been brought up, but as usual, none of you have made any comments.

We no longer sell Invision Community Classic with individual applications. This is in preparation for v5 where there will no longer be a separation for the "applications" like there is now. It will just be all bundled together and more tightly integrated.
Old pricing for full Invision Community Classic was $850 upfront and $300 per year.
New pricing is $499 upfront and $199 per year.
You can reach out to sales if you have questions about pricing or options.

We'll address this in v5, until then I would suggest to either just fix it manually in the IDE, or to literally just use the IDE to implement the methods.

This is how we see it too. Preloading everything may trick google but it makes it harder for your browser to figure out loading order.

I’m afraid, this is a hosting error which you would need to get more information from your provider.

You would have to log out of the client area, and the community. If you are still logged into the client area, it would log you back in. However I do need to make you aware that we do not allow the sharing of accounts (its actually against your TOS). We would also very much advise against doing that on your community. It would be better to just set up the individual users as administrators

Because downloading it all is still going to block something else from loading. So by moving all the CSS to be pre-loaded, it's actually going to block things that should and would have downloaded first. Browsers are actually quite good at prioritising these days, so you can do more harm than good by messing with the order and preloading potentially large files that don't actually need to be pre-loaded.
In an ideal world the key CSS (eg the CSS needed to render the visible part of the page) would be pre-loaded or hard coded into the html. Just not all of it.

You just need to set up your server correctly, it's not just CSS/JS size.
We have optimised our cloud platform to ensure CSS/JS is served via gzip and cached correctly and Google is more than happy with it.

Invision Community 5 is removing a lot of redundant JS and CSS, and eventually we want to remove things like jQuery, but it will be a process, so it won't be done for 5.0.0 (or we wouldn't release for another year!). Likewise, user generated content generates a lot of DOM elements and a broad platform such as a forum needs a lot of CSS and JS.

But just setting up your server correctly will get you passing core web vitals and fetching a solid score on Page Speed tests.

I've use IPB for years (nearly 20!).
We get insane amounts of spam now. I spent hours marking users as spammers but their content no longer gets deleted. Beyond frustrating. My community is a waste of time now. Is there a way to delete posts made by spammers in bulk?

I have had this happen, same user name and email address. Doesn’t happen that often and have never been able to pin point why it happens. My server runs fast but may be slow connection on members side.
