Charles, that comes from caring about invision and paying a lot of money for it too. I would focus on the api, presentation of the pages app, integrate to essential services like semrush, ahrefs, rankmath, create a social media sharing/marking/scheduling platforms etc.

Here's what I would do based on the currently available functionality.
Set the task to run every minute In your execute(), check if the time is 5pm If it is then proceed with the rest of the code If not, then do nothing.

Are you able to provide the URL to the topic in question? I can then take a closer look. View count updates are done in batches so it's not unheard of for it to go a few rounds of the task running without updating but if it's been like a couple hours, something may be happening. Please also ensure all access details are up to date in our Client Area.

Google offers a free CMP for AdManager users.  I haven't tried it (yet) but probably will because this is now a requirement and Google's option is free.

Everyone at Invision Community is pleased to introduce Community Hive.
We are creating a new free-to-use service to help independent communities reach new audiences and re-engage existing members.
Community Hive delivers updates from your favourite communities and helps you explore new ones by bringing all the communities you follow into a single feed with optional email updates.
The Invision Community September 2023 release will bring Community Hive integration to Invision Community and we're also releasing integrations for XenForo, Squarespace and WordPress. More integrations for popular platforms are planned over the coming months.

    The "Why"
We believe in the power of independent communities. Technology has changed over the two decades we've been building community tools and despite the advances in technology a key problem independent communities still have is re-engaging existing members and finding new audiences. Social media has diminishing returns, and search results continually down-rank user-generated content. Reaching new audiences has never been more challenging.
Community Hive solves that by providing a single platform to showcase your content to new and existing audiences. We don't keep your content; the only way to engage is to visit your site, ensuring you retain complete control and ownership.
Regular updates via email and push notifications reach your existing members wherever they are.
As our attention spans shorten and our online time becomes more cluttered, checking in with each community becomes more of a struggle. Independent and forum based communities fight for attention with social media, and owned platforms like Discord and Slack. Allowing your members to follow your community with Community Hive gives you increased visibility and discoverability and helps level the playing field.

    The Platform
Community Hive has a familiar feed view with two main areas. "Following" shows a feed of communities you already follow to ensure you see more of what you like. This feed learns over time what content you favour and ensures you see more of what you like.
The "Discover" tab shows you a feed of content from communities outside of your following list, which is a great way to discover new online communities to join. Following is easy; you don't even need to register on the community to add it to your followed list on Community Hive.
Robust account management makes it easy to unfollow communities and set your desired audience classification preferences.
Community Hive is mobile-first with push notifications and is ready to be added to your phone's home screen as an app.

    Integration
Community Hive will launch with integration for several platforms such as XenForo, Squarespace and WordPress. Invision Community integration has several tools to nudge your members to add your community to Community Hive with buttons in key follow areas.

Following from a community only requests your email address. You can optionally set a password later on Community Hive to enable your feed to be viewed on multiple devices.

Clicking "Follow on Community Hive" from an Invision Community when you have an account with that community.

Clicking "Follow on Community Hive" from an Invision Community when you do not have an account with that community.
Community Hive will be launched in beta alongside Invision Community's September 2023 release, with integrations released for other platforms.
You can visit Community Hive now and join in the discussion on the Community Hive forums. We look forward to seeing you there!

v5 is a significant step forward for UI, discovery, noise versus signal and brand matching. Change is hard but it is kind of inevitable.
If nothing changed, then we'd still be using this:

And while you could absolutely run a successful community on that product even now, the chances of attracting new members would be low given the expectations modern audiences have for UI and ease of use.

Yes, the design will not only look different but the way you do themes will be very different. We're pretty close to starting our public v5 blogs/teasers.

I would like to ask why the structure of the Invision Marketplace couldn't still exist here, but instead of financial transactions and downloads being handled by Invision, just remove the commerce aspect of it and just let it be a "Downloads" directory with hyperlinks back to the author's site. The author could still update the application or theme's description, changelog, and compatible versions here at Invision, and the client would still be able to shop around here where they feel comfortable, and if they find something in your [former] Marketplace, they click through to the authors personal site.
Downloads allows for URL submissions as it is. Why not retain that directory of applications here? What Joel is proposing to do, you could set up in a short amount of time and then it would be almost on autopilot. An existing Invision directory would only increase exposure to the applications that 3rd party devs have created and sell.

There is no way in which to get that displayed to guests. The page itself simply wouldnt make sense in that context as guest cannot have unread content as they arent a member

I would be interested if page application going to be better for creating basic site front end pages and some navigation options. Non tech folks like me, can't make the best use of Page app and information available on our site. I really have whacky landing page which I would like to make better.

Almost all functionality will be available to those with active licenses, certainly more than enough to combat the surge we've seen. We may add a little more algorithm-crunching stuff for cloud given access to AWS computing power and more room to swallow additional costs given cloud pricing. It's very much in progress, so we'll have news when everything has been completed.

We're keeping that as you can still use the 'internal' method but we'll be reviewing all our promotion tools to make sense of them as we have a few ways now (pinned, featured, promoted, etc).

My basic point is that Akismet would never have allowed those airline spammers everyone is getting hit by to post anything, even right out of the gate on a fresh account. The current system in IPS appears to be almost entirely defensive/reactive in nature and has proven wholly ineffective at handling the problem.
Even when setting up hCaptcha at "difficult" level, the problem remains. The only other advice I've seen you guys or anyone else give is to pay $20 for the CleanTalk app. While I'm sure that's an effective solution, it's one that raises the expense of running the package as a whole and not all of us want to do that.
If there's something more you guy have to suggest on the subject, I'm sure we'd all appreciate knowing.
I've been using Akismet for years on non-standard packages it wasn't even meant to be used on, and it's proven solid and reliable. Spammers have yet to succeed in bypassing it for posting, and only occasionally get past it for initial account registration.

Current offered spam service by IPS is not good enough imho. And timers has changed since thgev service was introduced.
How about attacking the spammers with IPS writing some clever AI anti-spam functionality and include in the packages?

Looking at my sites, it seems like spammers are already using it. I get more and more replies to old topics which somehow are on topic but still somehow make so little sense that I can’t believe a human registered to post it.
I’m not afraid of AI and use it myself, but only like a brainstorming partner, where I judge which replies are actually useful and correct. I can’t imagine having AI (auto) reply/publish anything on my sites at the moment. And I think it would only dilute the value of a community. Because the AI answers will soon be available directly within search engines and other apps and services. I rather run the place where answers can be different and better than that.

georgebkk reacted to Nathan Explosion in How does a restricted administrator view the Moderator Activity Page?
Here's the cause of the original problem:
public function execute(){ \IPS\Dispatcher::i()->checkAcpPermission( 'moderators_manage' ); parent::execute(); } In 4.6.12.1, that's the permission check for the controller you are accessing - it's not moderatorstats_manage, therefore it isn't going to be using the setting you are using. That is fixed in the 4.7.x codeline at some point.
If you want a QF for it, and are self-hosted, then just edit the relevant file (/applications/core/modules/admin/stats/moderators.php) and change moderators_manage to moderatorstats_manage
The language string issue will be sorted if and when you upgrade.
