Suggestion: is it possible that you hook into the profile as well? It would be nice if the icon would be shown on the profile page:

    Thanks

This was taken on a 4.5 last September:
It shows ok to me, installed directly from marketplace.
i’ll take a look. Probably something has changed. 👍

I don't miss the confused reaction but I do miss the sad reaction. We are living in a tumultuous time right now with a global pandemic, and more. You don't always have the words to express that you are feeling for that person's difficult time and seeing a bunch of empty "I'm so sorry"'s in a thread I think is just as damning as no one replying at all to someone's rough time. The sad reaction gave people a means to offer support, show that they read the post without replying with an empty platitude that means even less than a supportive reaction.

    No not at all.
    Just a sidenote:
But english is not my first language and I try my best to understand the humour  and «in between lines stuff» that happens in a language that is not my first language. I guess there are many members in the same situation as me also - so do not forget that you have an international audience.

I know you have not forgotten, but in my sites I try to think my site as how a new member sees it, and to much «noise» can be a turnoff for some seriously newbies.

I use this thread for the extension of my older wishlist for Pages.
    Pages should have
background images for categories as for forums grid view polls in Pages entries text area for category descriptions (and not only one text field) an option to show category descriptions only on category sites and not in categories overview. widgets per category and not for all categories together (yes, there's an app for that) the option to set multiple authors for one article field for meta title on Pages database entries snippet preview on Meta Tags at least in ACP more schema tag options as described in this thread from @Gabriel Torres in menu manager the option to include a single entry from a Pages database (an article for example). So many menu entries are "external links" but actually "things" in Pages.

Sorry, posting videos is forbidden in the no-fun zone.

We can't be for everyone, and we accept that. We try and keep things light and fun because life can be pretty awful, and given there's a raging pandemic out there (points to window) these online spaces are an escape from that.

    Appreciate the honest dialog.

This is a product support board, not an emotional support board.  Enough with all the touchy feely emojis, gifs and any other means of expressing emotions, whether positive or negative.  All communications should be done in a completely neutral fashion.
To ensure neutral communications going forward, please remove all reactions and the emojis and gif buttons as well from the editor in these forums as a few people can't seem to help themselves from being emotionally expressive.  The old saying goes, a few bad apples always ruins it for the rest...

The +1 button was a great idea but please return or improve the number of reactions here at the IPS Community forum. It's feels to me IMHO almost like we're being stifled by some dark, manipulative branding and marketing PR department or something. Reactions allowing the ability to show you you're saddened, disagree or are confused about something and help provide a balance of opinion, freedom of expression and thought.
    Thanks for reading.

There is only one setting for status updates notification that contain the status you started, and the status you replied to it. This status update notification must be divided into two different settings. One for the status you started, and the second one for the status you replied to because it's really annoying sometimes whenever you reply to someone status. Then you receive at least 100 notifications on big comminutes or sometimes more than a 100.
    Live example:
Today is @Jordan Invision birthday. "Happy birthday again mate"
@Jordan Invision decided to create a status update "It's my birthday". It's important to him to receive a notification who replied to his status update, yet if 100 members replied, it's not important to them to receive the 100 notifications.
I hope you guys listen, and make this happen in 4.6 releases.

@MartinLawrence That is a custom theme so we don't know the specifics of this. What @Sonya* posted should work for the default theme with making the header background transparent. Unfortunately, since that's definitely not default I really can't advise without seeing the site/theme in question.

I have some non-English projects, where I have made some changes to the language strings. These changes should be permanent. There is also a language pack in Marketplace. When I upgrade the project, I have to make many steps to keep my custom translations. This is how I do it:
Download the custom language as XML (Custom package) Download Marketplace package as XML (Marketplace package) Copy Marketplace package (Merged package) Upload a new version (Custom package) on Merged package Change the name of the package back to Merged Set Merged package as Default Disable other language packages When I'd like to change some strings in my project, I have to go this way
Make changes in my Custom package Download Custom package as XML Upload a new version (Custom package) on Merged package Change the name of the package back to Merged When there is an upgrade for Marketplace package:
Upgrade Marketplace package Download Marketplace package as XML (Marketplace package) Upload a new version (Marketplace package) on Merged package Upload a new version (Custom package) on Merged package Change the name of the package back to Merged This is quite time-consuming. I wish parent/child construction (like themes), where my custom changes just overload the Marketplace package. Additionally, a filter where I can see what translations differ from parent version. This would help to prevent all these steps above, keep my custom translations and still use Marketplace updates without loosing my custom changes.

Just a note that this helps with fully English projects as well. We often use different phrases and words for built in features and use the translation/language tool to maintain this.

In AdminCP System -> Site Promotion -> Advertisements we can add ads on the site and in email notifications. While we can restrict the ads to show only to certain groups, there is no possibility to restrict the email ads to the user group. Why? Please add the ability to restrict the email advertisement to the certain groups. Thank you!
