I do not understand why, to use this function you need to require a thousand approvals (practically impossible to have), while instead IFTTT can publish (even on pages) without any of that...
I already imagine that the IPS staff will say that they have integrated Zapier for systems on cloud currently. but we're talking about a paid system... Can't you integrate a system like IFTTT?

I used Social Media Promotions, but is very difficult configure with the Facebook permisions. And nonestly the support is poor in this feature by IPS.
Facebook doesn't make it easy and it usually stops working unexpectedly. I have a support ticket from April 03, 2020 without resolving.
With this last modification in manage_pages and publish_pages permissions,  it again doesn't work and I have to request new permissions:

Are InvisionCommunity looking for any alternative to promote our content on Facebook?

Since the new IPB 4.5 Marketplace pushes the user to do everything from the admin instead of switching from InvisionCommunity, in my opinion it's really important to have additional screen elements instead of being flooded with plugins/apps and translations.
It would be really useful to have a button/widget to display “My Purchases” so you have a list of everything one owns, from apps, skins and translations. It would also be useful to a wish list, to be able to monitor any offers and support of the developer and since lately they are increasingly publishing Applications with renewals it would be nice to get notifications about close renewals, plugins to renew etc...

I used Sendgrid based on the recommendation of the IPS staff and because support is built into IPS. Unfortunately the price of Sendgrid is 10x that of Amazon's SES simple email service.
I just switched over to Amazon SES and am stuck using the SMTP route rather than via the API because there isn't native support via IPS like there is for Sendgrid.
I'd like to ask for or vote for IPS adding support for Amazon SES, just like it supports Sendgrid.

When I add similar products I use the useful “Copy” function in the ACP. Problem is, that the new product with the name “[product name] copy” instantly becomes available in the shop, even though I haven’t actually configured it yet.
I suggest that the copy function creates each copy with the default status “deactivated” instead of taking over the status from the copied product.

I find it would be very interesting to have a live webinars provided IPS on dedicated topics (say 4.5 themes, 4.5 Pages etc.) including a space for Q/As. I would really benefit form being taken through various hidden corners of the IPS apps. The resulting videos could be made available here for offline watching and for technical support reference. Great for team bonding too :) What do you think?

    60K Emails/Month on SendGrid $359.40 annually
    60K Emails/Month on SES $72 annually
@Charles @Lindy there's a business case here for you to get it done 🙂
Undoubtedly a percentage of those savings for smaller communities on a tighter budget would lead to more plugins and community enhancement purchases.
So come on, which one of you is mates or shares a yacht with someone at SendGrid that you chose it over SES? 🤣

I figured there would have been a way to manually grab and install marketplace files post 4.5 as I like to archive old versions and track changes but I wont be able to do that any more?
I love the marketplace integration and it makes sense for a lot of users but a manual fallback should still be in place as well.

We are interested in developing a plugin that allows you to report an image uploaded in Gallery as a spoiler.
Spoiler is useful for reporting spoiler and NFSW images. I honestly stunned myself when I saw that this feature was not included in Gallery...
This would be useful to hide in thumbnails the images reported as spoilers and also in the gallery, at least that you do not click on it or move over it with the mouse...
I believe the best examples of this feature is in Reddit and Steam:

sometimes custom fields take a lot of space and make post higher than needed, it would be nice to have option in setting to place them at the bottom of the post like i have it on my customised template

when admin decides to have it under user info pane, there should be another option - to have all fields visible (current state) or to have them in pop-up menu like on https://rog.asus.com/forum/

i think it would be really useful to have an option to report an image as spoiler/explicit content and hide content with a blur effect or other in thumbnails until you hover over (Steam style) or open content.

I believe that having the reaction in private messages is also useful for saying “I read the message and thank you” or “I don't agree”, cutting the discussion, without having to reply or anything.
I had already proposed this thing too, I really hope they will be added

We have talked about hashtags a lot internally over the years.

The core issue is that we're just not sure how useful they are on a forum. They work on Twitter because it's the only way to create a 'channel' of similar discussions. There is no other way to separate out conversations. So adding the tag makes it clear you're talking about that topic.

Obviously, with a forum you have categories, forums and topics. Adding a hashtag would be largely superfluous.

We have a tagging system for content already, and I would say that 98% of Invision Communities do not use it, and of the 2%, a small handful use it in a meaningful way that aids content discovery.

Hashtags are often mistyped further diluting the usefulness. Using your example, on twitter I've seen:

    #blacklivematter
    #blacklivesmatters
    #blm
    #blackouttuesday

Twitter actually is smart enough to know these are largely the same topic, so you will often see something like:

    Trending
    #Blacklivesmatter
    Also talking about: #blm, #blackouttuesday

That's a great system but takes a lot of AI/human collating and computing power.

So our current position is simply that adding hashtags won't really increase content discovery in any meaningful way.

Facebook has hashtags but almost no one uses them.

Most hashtags are added for irony, like:

We're not going to add hashtags into 4.5

    #sorryNotSorry

This creates a bunch of records and consumes a chunk of computing power and database size for almost no purpose at all.

250 cookies this was enough to make me run away from that site.
I believe that here people want to have a board full of functions, make it weigh down a lot without thinking that those applications are better as external addons to avoid having an IP.Board really heavy. Hashtags, stories, tiktak embeed does a board really need these things?
I think IP.Board has many big shortcomings, but these are just the last on the list. one thing that comes to mind all of a sudden is link cleaning ie, convert a link:
    https://www.amazon.com/LG-OLED55CXPUA-Alexa-Built-Ultra/dp/B0829RYP8V?pf_rd_r=ASVJVSMFM2Q6R0VW4JJ8&pf_rd_p=76f54966-688a-4b94-8474-c7a8ff47e986&pd_rd_r=8b6dd349-94a1-4d86-ac13-216375283b45&pd_rd_w=0hjH4&pd_rd_wg=MAanm&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_d to
Amazon.com: LG OLED55CXPUA Alexa Built-In CX Series 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV (2020): Electronics I think it's pointless to propose infinite things and it would be better to think of, “Would this be useful for everyone or just me?” and then think about whether to fund the addons or propose it to the staff. So many councils are trying to make IP.board become a "facebook clone".
I hope the IP.Board staff will keep the board as light as possible.

I want to throw out there that hashtags (pound signs for us old people) mean something different on different media platforms. So making an educated and good decision on this is, and should be difficult.
For example you use a hashtag in discord and other chat programs to link to separate rooms. Whereas they are used to link other content on social media streams. Its not quite the same thing to assume that a hashtag is just one thing.
When you have a limited space to type content I can see how a hashtag is super important but you don't have a limited space on a forum. TO ME, I think that the better recommendation here is to make the tag section more prevalent as a hashtag center. Call it "Hashtags" call it something more media-centric. Allow people to #callit and then utilize them more for similar content.
I don't think the problem is that we "need" hashtags but more that we need to make our tagging system work as if we already have them.

I don’t see how it would be useful in a forum. Twitter consists of millions of unrelated text snippets per day and tying them together by typing something directly in the text is more or less a necessary evil on that platform. In a forum, that isn’t necessary. If Black Lives Matter is currently discussed in a forum, then you probably have an entire topic dedicated to it, which shows front and center in the activity feed and the forum—and there is even the “popular topics” feature to further highlight active topics. Hashtags wouldn’t be necessary. All they would do is decrease the readability of the posts.

Just a tip: you need to get people’s attention to this. You post thousands times here will have absolutely no practical effect on the feedback.
Even if IPS decides to add something like that, it won’t be in a minor release. All for 4.5 was already announced.

    Hi there,
I think it'd be cool to have a "test" send button when sending bulk emails. I test my emails by creating a unique group, then creating a new member using one of my email addresses, then sending it to that group.
Would be awesome if there was a "send test" button that sent your email to an email address you specify instead.
Hope that makes sense. Just a thought 🙂
