  1. Getting a message from support saying it’s not possible to achieve does not mean it’s not possible under any circumstances. It simply means with the base software, it is not possible to do. You could certainly find a third party developer to add functionality But IPS would not be able to advise you on that… simply that you can’t do it with the software that they are providing.
  2. R2 is not officially supported, however I would suggest manually moving the files. Download them from the S3 bucket and then upload to R2.
  3. Did you register your domain and do the verification that is needed for this to be supported?
  4. It’s saying those files don’t exist. That should not break anything server wise but it looks like attachments or uploads that are being accessed that are not available.
  5. The public key is intended to be that… public. It HAS to be in the request for your end user to view something that generates a map request. The private key is not shared. Google appears to be mass sending it to people. The key is only shared in the way Google instructs it to be done. Make sure you have proper restrictions so your key can be used from your domain and you’ll be fine.
  6. The March release live topic said the pages app was getting a bigger update later this year. I would not expect it in this month or even the next two personally. If they are just starting to talk about it, I would expect there would be a while to go before it’s released.
  7. It’s always easy to overlook the non-flashy things, but good backups are critically important. It’s like electricity for your house… you don’t realize you need it until you don’t have it!
  8. Think about any sort of private club or membership group. An elks club, a fan club, or a personal trainer’s own site that I mentioned above that sells access to on demand personal training video sessions and customized workout plans. I actually know an HOA that uses IPB. The quarterly dues are paid through the website. Residents use the forums for discussion, but the pages application is used as a CMS to post meeting minutes, etc. It even has private resources for members vs guests, and separate resources that are just for the board. Commerce and Pages are PRIMARY applications for them honestly more than forums. You’re thinking in term only of a forum when that’s not what the suite is. IPB’s roots was building forums, but now it builds communities. Different communities have different ways of monetizing itself. Ads are one way but certainly not the only way. Subscriptions… one time sales… micro transactions… there are lots of ways that could drive revenue! 🙂
  9. Search results are not cached. They should respect permissions. I just searched my site for an item found only in the admin forum but don't find it as a member.
  10. That article is not a help article. It's a link to the 3rd party developer (not IPS) that is selling an extra integration outside of the default ones provided by IPS. Kirill is one of several 3rd party developers who build additional solutions on top of what is possible in the "out of the box" software application. And as you can see in that same link, there is a cost for that gateway. Also... the first link you provided: https://invisiondevs.com/docs/commerce/gateways/squareup-payment-gateway-r2/ That is not an IPS site. It's Kirrill's website. So you're again linking to him instead of something owned by IPS. Support for that resource would be provided by @Kirill Gromov (who is awesome by the way). In fact, I've actually purchased that gateway myself. It's a fantastic resource and I highly recommend it. The only thing it does not support is subscriptions as the API needed to support it is not completely in place yet on the Square side. But for one-time purchases, it does its job flawlessly. IPS itself does not offer or support 3rd party resources. You would work with whomever is offering that resource for service/support.
  11. Invision has not gotten to that level of discussion (at least publicly) yet with regards to the LMS. It sounds like they're still building requirements, scope, etc. I don't work for IPS, but that is just an educated guess based on what has been said so far.
  12. You might try installing the theme again (with a different name). If it does not happen in that installation, something unique is happening in your first one. If it happens in both, it's a theme issue you would need to work with your 3rd party resource provider to troubleshoot. 🙂
  13. @Charles... where do you plan to have this management done? Is this going to be in the Client Area or from within the ACP?
  14. I saw the slowdown earlier on my site. (In fact, I had a moderator ping me asking if I was busy breaking anything.) It looks to be back now and the site certainly does feel snappier. I don't have anything I can use to show imperial data to show logged in user data (I have before/after from WebPageTest.org, but I don't have it logged in). But as I'm navigating around... it feels more responsive!
  15. I remember that release... Good times.
  16. Out of curiosity, what are you actually using for that caching layer? Anything that decreases latency, especially for logged in members is welcome and appreciated! Those are the sorts of improvements that being long term value in CiC!
  17. There are lots of subscriptions outside of adult content. Anything that has premium level access (education, clubs that collect dues, writers selling ebooks, etc). I helped a friend sell subscriptions that included personal training videos and content around workout designs. I worked with someone else who runs a site similar to Angie’s list with highly curated recommendations for services in a specific city. They use subscriptions and charge for memberships as well as sell specific add-ons. I absolutely do agree that advertising improvements would be useful and welcome… but I’m just noting that subscriptions, donations and other monitization systems ARE relevant and important. 🙂 By the way… @Charles just posted that there IS going to be big improvements to advertising. 🙂 That has to be the fastest I’ve ever seen a feature request be acknowledged! 😜
  18. No. There is no way to suppress this in the default software by default without some sort of third party notification.
  19. As a customer of both cloud and self-hosted… I can confirm there is NO FTP access or access to system files in any way. Services that are CIC do not work out of the CIC platform. If it’s a “nulled” version, it is ONLY the self hosted features.
  20. You should have two different member groups… one for subscribers, one for non-subscribers. Non-subscribers would not have access to the forums. (Such as your guests group). People that don’t have an active subscription should be in the the appropriate group.
  21. Yes. Login to the ACP. Click on the bell in the upper right corner and then choose “Notifications”.
  22. Check out the following: With that said, there is not a concept of having multiple alerts rotated automatically. Meaning you send one of XX random messages. You can create a message that is displayed on DAY1, another on DAY2, another on DAY3. There is nothing that would do exactly what you want. You would need to have some sort of 3rd party customization to do what you've described. But alerts might move you in the right direction.
  23. What I'm referring to is within Pages, you can have information posted in a database synced to a forum. However you can only do that at the database level... not within specific forums within a database. In the example below, if an entry is created in the database, a topic is created within the specified forum that shows each field you allow to be displayed. But again... this is only able to be specified at the database level. That means if you have multiple categories, they would ALL post into that forum.
  24. The Pages application only allows you to associate one forum per database. This means you cannot have one forum for each category within a single database. Instead you would have to create multiple databases instead of multiple categories within a forum.
