Email marketing / address management / mailing lists is a very big point for monetarizing a community and is totally missing as a full IPS native feature.
There already are several plugin in IPS marketplace for mailchimp, sparkpost, and also for address validation checks for bulk mails via own server. Other plugins are "Newsletters" and there also exist several variants.
But I would wish to get some IPS native features without being required to use 3rd party services.
Maybe also a plugin to connect to the byteplant API to get rid of bad emails. -> https://www.email-validator.net/email-address-online-verification-api.html
And it would be a great gain if one of the designers would develop some email template designs to choose from. We have so many designers for themes and skins, but no one ever touched email templates so far...

My community is begging for an app, and I already lost ~60% of member traffic to Facebook and WhatsApp. Why? Not because my content isn't good enough anymore, but my members use my contents, and afterwards, go on with live messaging/meetings (which is an elemental part in my industry) via Facebook and WhatsApp and I lose control. I can do nothing against it. My competitors don't have contents, but they have active Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The FB/WA messaging functions are way better, and my users require an app icon to remember my site as well as push notifications to their mobiles. Not having an app is blocking my success factors extremely. I'm already considering buying an app development for my WordPress pages (which seems to be cheaper as many developers already did it for the WP platform...), but that would be the point to lose the power an IPS app would have. I'd prefer an IPS app, but I don't have ages to wait for one. We need to speed up any arrangement.

Another important question is:
Why are only member groups promotions supported in the membership subscriptions module, that promote members to a primary member group?

@Aiwa Majority of Community members are demanding the hybrid solution like PWA not native ones which may IPB team tried but Failed (i don't know IPB team mobile app history) 
PWA solution require just javascript skills not native one like  java and swift which most of web developers already have :)
I hope one day one of IPB developer or IPB TEAM hear all of voices and do something for us to compete against Telegram groups, discord server, Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Group 
and make our communities users more engage to our sities

Another important question is:

I'm having a hard time understanding why things work the way they do via the subscription manager and I was hoping I could get some clarification or if we could receive some improvements on it.
If members repurchase/renew the same subscription after it has expired or canceled, they're still kept in the "Inactive" list.  Why?  This makes it really hard to see how many actual inactive subscribers we have. Why don't coupons work for subscriptions? Why don't we have the option to discount the subscription for certain member groups, similar to what we could do in the shop front? If you have it set to move members to new usergroups, they're reset when that sub is cancelled if toggled.  If the subs are cancelled, but then reactivated for whatever reason, why does it not move them back to the group set for the sub?  Bug - Fixed in next update. If you delete a cancelled or expired sub from the member's purchase list while they have another active sub, why does it drop them from the active list, removing their benefits and sub status, when they still have an active sub that was not removed? Why does editing certain things about the subs make the system think they're a separate entity if purchased/renewed after the changes? Why is the horizontal block presented like this: https://i.gyazo.com/ac333c56a3d8e9f5f1f7e621cb5b5405.png  This feels so cluttered and unnecessary.  It would be better if it was set up as a horizontal alignment of the subscriptions at about the same size as a product would show up in the store?  I'd prefer the horizontal block, but it just takes up entirely too much real estate on the page for showing off just 3 sub options.

When will the upgrade with the announced new templates or settings take place? Just asking, as I will be interested again as soon as there is a compact, minimalistic display of bookmarks. My communities opinion was, that bookmarks only make sense, if they can find each specific bookmark easily and fast again. With more than f.e. 200 bookmarks and a totally overloaded template, no member ever found his favourite bookmarks again.
And my members also like to create complete "bookmark lists" in different "bookmark categories" for other members. Sort of their personal best-of-advices-selections. That's the reason, why categories should have individual descriptions shown on the member profiles, and bookmarks should have an extra field for an individual, personal bookmark note, to enhance the bookmark with personal words...
I suggest, just the BOOKMARK CATEGORY NAME and additionally 2-3 lines text description should be shown for the categories headlines (as a settings option).
And for the bookmarks, just show the original title of f.e. the topic. And have a second text line for editable personal notes, that can identify the tangible content, if the member wishes to add such a note. (as a setting option)

They are all run in the background, like when you move mass forum posts etc to another forum it triggers a background task so it won't make your server have a high load

I actually did make a few good bundles with lots of $$$ off and even a mega pack, but I got told by IPS staff that developers are no longer allowed to upload bundles, So send me a pm and I will always sort people out discounts or a free app / plugin if they are buying multiple files

To clarify about the bank interest, you ask % per month.  Even the minimum 1% / mo = 12% / yr is extremely high, and that's the lowest possible rate in your app.

Maybe I don't understand this correctly. There already is a functionality to stop members earning points, f.e. for receiving reactions, if they haven't been logged in for a week or a month? Where is it please?
That would be extremely helpful as I can only start using these features as soon as secondary groups are honored. I really can't overwrite primary member groups, as there are different permissions inherited already and there is no possibility for a default primary group upgrade from all groups.
ok, I just want to mention that +12% interest rate per year (for people that purchased points for real money) is extremely high. I'm rating this feature by an economic points of view in relation to my business model usage.
Please always have in mind, that some of your membershop users try to develop their own business model! It's not only a fun app for us, as we can lose a lot of money with it. As soon as we start offering points for money, this changes a lot.
But anyway, I'm already very happy your app exists in the way it is, I'm just adding my comments for you to have them in mind concerning different usage cases. Thanks.

They can not earn points if thet are not active, you set the points to be awarded if they have either logged in / posted content in the time frame of the award tasks
I can look into all the secondary groups for probably 1.1.3, 1.1.2 is nearly done with gallery features ( big thanks to @Joel R for supporting the gallery app ) done and the ability for me to create some great add-ons and extenstions
I will more than likely craeate a widget ( something like the downloads featured one ) where you can feature items and they will show there, of course it will be global
the application is wrote without decimals so I would need to rewrite lots to have that function which will not be something I am looking to do for a while ( don't mean it won't happen though )
 
I am starting making extenstions for this app as well as add-ons, So far I have made a clubs add-on where you can allow members to charge points to join their clubs, you can charge members for creating modules in the clubs, example if they want to add a forums topic section to the club it will cost xxx points, you can charge members to create a club, and it will also add a feature my club item to the shop.
Another add-on I am working on is actually really good lol, you will create a event, Say 10 posts in a hour, now you will set the reward, either points or a shop item, you set the event to run every hour, and each hour it will check if any member has posted 10 posts or what ever option is selected for that application ( events can be set to run each hour, every 3 hours, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, once a day, once a week or once a month so you can make some really good events ), it will award them either the points you set or the item you set and send them a notification saying they got x from y event, it will support the forums, downloads, gallery, calendar and of course members shop ( more applications will come )

Hi Guys IPB is awesome and far better than any other forum software available in market. IPB team working very hard to implement new feature every month i appreciate their     hard work 
But now in smartphone world everyone is using mobile devices that have apps to access their favorite content. people don't like first open browser, then type url and then type username, password. Mobile friendly websites are no longer a solution. Forums are facing competition from Telegram groups, discord server, Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Group

I know it is very difficult to maintain native app. so Now companies use hybrid approach to cut cost for mobile app.
It would be great if IPB team develop the in house Progressive Web app for IPB. IPB theme already mobile friendly so every little to do  Just need to implement
1. Service- worker for Offline uses
2. Push Notification for Notifications
3. Login and signup screen (that remember the user name and password)
Here some Key Benefits Of PWA over Native App

IPB4 team already have brilliant javascript developers. I think it would not too difficult for them to do this.
I would like to Pay for this feature separately  if it will be developed. It would be Milestone for IPB 4 as compared to other forums software.

Companies Using PWA!!
 
PWA is not just another Buzz word,  PWA again transferring the power back to Web Developers which was lost during native mobile app era. I think REST API based apps for IPB not right approach, From developers point of views, it will make mobile apps  hard to maintain and compatible with every new version of IPB and updates of hundered of IPB plugins. However PWA just uses Mobile Responsive of Website.
Forums Founders  spent both Time and money to make his/her community sustainable. sometime new users like the forums but forget url and browser history deleted,at that time website looses one member ? this same things happened with me many times and may be other members share the same experience. 
For iOS users or Android users there is more chances, new users of clients Forum website click on App icons  (Installed by PWA ) again than open browser inside the mobile, remember the website URL and hit the enter. No matter whether  PWA support push notifications for particular mobile os or not :)
 PWA fully supported in Window 10 redstone 4. We can't ignore the billions machine running  window 10. Window 10 PWA app would be huge opportunity  to keep the website users engage with website. Just imagine clients Forums apps are installed on users PC.  Even They don't open browser and enter forum URL,  with single push notification you can make users again engage to your website ? More and more adopting the window 10

In a number of popular web scripts like Drupal, the software has the ability to specify a non-public location for the software to store and serve files from. IPS doesn't allow this, you can only specify file system locations that are within the web root of the account (meaning that there is direct access to the files via a URL). For security, best practice is to store data outside of your web root location. This stops people from uploading files and then accessing them via direct URL and potentially compromising the account or even the server (particularly on servers where the web server does not run PHP scripts as the local user). 
It would be nice if IPS supported local file system access outside of web root. Right now, IPS also allows you to specify a local file system storage location outside of the web root, but if you use that file storage location, those items will no longer be accessible by IPS once the system moves them. If nothing else, IPS should warn people in the ACP that if you specify a file system location outside of the web root, the items won't be accessible.

Suggestion For Future Update:
Move the actual program from 'Community' (Eg. 1)

to a choice under 'Members' (eg. 2, exampled by 'red line'), since it is a member related program and directly impacts the member accounts.

It's really a cosmetic change, but one I feel should be implemented. @Adriano Faria
