I've tried several times to change the name of my forum. Currently it is: 'Virtual Assistant Networking Forums" which you can see at vanetworking.com/forums I would like to change it to 'Virtual Assistant Networking Association VANA Forum" and I feel like I'm in the correct space to change it under settings. View attached. What am I doing wrong?

I need to try a fresh install, to see if an app works in my environment without any other plugins or applications installed. However, I have an active dev site which is in use by another dev. Would it be possible to briefly use a test.mydomain instead of the dev.mydomain and then switch back once I have completed my tests.

I help a non profit run a site and I guess it went down "a week or two ago", so not sure how long exactly. To my knowledge, nothing has been updated/changed. Recently we are migrating our community to Digital Ocean where we are using their managed DB service. Soon after migration we started receiving these emails: Currently we have only one DB node and we don't plan to extend that soon but it seems like it's a problem. Any available fix for this? Maybe just adding the primary keys manually? Thanks!

I'm trying to properly set up the cronjob function for the task processing. However, I can't seem to get it to work. I have asked my host to run the command, they tried and came back to me with this. I placed the ******** instead of my folder's name for privacy reasons. Using invision version 4.7.12 and elasticsearch version 7.17.3, search indexing is completed but queries were returning no results. Upon checking the query sent to ES I see it includes "index_class":["IPS\\forums\\Topic\\Post"] However index_class is indexed as text. Changing this query to use index_class.keyword filter returns results as I would expect. Presuming that this can't be a bug where the query is using the wrong field since others would have spotted, can you suggest what the root problem might be?

Hello, I'm doing conversion from vBulletin, where we used BBCode. I enabled BBCode in Invision before conversion, however the posts are moved without BBCode being parsed - only when creating new posts/editing them the parsing is being done. Is there a way for all posts to be parsed during conversion?

Hello, When I set a translation for an external link in the Menu Manager, the menu disappears. I have to click to Restore Default Configuration but it doesn't work all the time. At the moment, when I click on this button, nothing happens, the same menu is there without possibility of returning to the default configuration. The menu is frozen. Can you help me? I tried to clear cache, switch to default EN-US language, switch to default theme, without success. Thanks.

When I first implemented my message board (IPS Community) several years ago, I was having issues with an upgrade. An IPS resource offered to handle the upgrade and did so successfully. Do they still offer that assistance? If not, are there vendors who will do it. I'm technical enough to handle simple tweaks to my install, but the latest upgrade I need requires the install (or update) or several files. I tried to get that done, but was unsuccessful and I'm afraid I'll blow up my forums instance.

Or how to exclude member group (s). I saw the thread that discussed this with Adsense Auto Ads from about three years ago. I think both adsense and invision have since changed. The instruction did not work for me. I have a member group that pays to have no ads and cannot figure out how to exclude a member group. If anyone is currently using Auto Ads on Adsense and has success controlling which member groups are subject to auto ads and which one see just the ads I place, please share. My revenue was higher with auto ads, so I would like to find a way to use without fouling up member groups. Thank you.

After moving to the new perpetual license subscription server, I am getting this error. I don't know if it is related to the new service or not, but I thought I would mention it. I downloaded and overwrote the files with the latest version. I deleted the old files and reuploaded. I cleared the cache. I disabled all plugins. I still have the error despite all my efforts. My login creds have been updated if you would like to check it out. Thanks in advance for your help with this issue.

Hello, Just want to keep this very short. I've upgraded a VERY old v3 board a week or so ago. I'm showing my age by saying I distinctly remember in the old days being warned and instructed to REMOVE/DELETE the admin install and upgrade folders after your board was installed properly to avoid another avenue of attack or vunerability. My new 4.7 board is fine, the upgrade and conversion to utf-8 is done. What happens to transactions and invoices if a product that has been used is deleted? Will the members who have purchased that product still see it in their Manage Purchases list or will it disappear from there. Will it also disappear from the members customer view in ACP?

Hi, i just installed a fresh installation of Invision Community v4.7.13 on a self hosted server. Installation went smooth and everything. Then I wanted to activate the Friendly URLs. So I downloaded the auto-generated file and uploaded it to my forum root, renaming it to .htaccess This is where my problem starts. The forum software won't find/accept the .htaccess file What can I do to make it work?

System log in the database is approx 2.3gig, and core_sessions keeps on needing to be rebuilt every week or so (getting more frequent now -- maybe every 4 days). Appears that today alone there were 400k entries. We updated from approx 4.7.8 to 4.17.13, and the issue seems to have gotten worse. Issue began happening between Sept. 1st and 2nd, when the database grew 500 meg overnight.... We didn't do any board changes on that date, and the other IPS board on the same server seems to be running fine. After updating IPS to the latest version I get the following error "Your server is reporting the current time as 09/25/2023 09:07 PM UTC which seems to be inaccurate. This can cause problems with some services and security functionality. You should contact your hosting provider to ask for this problem to be resolved." I wrote to my host, they claim that everything is fine on their side and it's probably the script's fault.

Hi, I don't often really need to use unicode characters on web servers url, as usually in the past (10-20 years ago) it always cause problems especially for the older web servers to handle it. So usually, I will prefer to use non-unicode characters for url. However, as the forum software does allow for unicode characters (such as Chinese Display name). So nowadays I am starting to have users who use Chinese Display names. This usually means the user will each have a url with a friendly SEO url like:- /forums/profile/userid-中文名字/ I noticed, this will often lead to a Sorry! The page you requested does not exist. I'm trying to edit a theme file that contain my primary navigation links. Customisation > Appearance > Themes > Default > Edit HTML & CSS > Global Templates > globalTemplate See attached screen shot. It will not allow me to save the edit. I haven't modified any files or other configuration in the system since this file was last edited. Any ideas about how to resolved this would be welcome. We had an issue with our server this morning that resulted in our mariadb service to go down. The issue has been fixed, and the database service is back online. Doing a System Check through the Admin section of the forums comes up all green. Our forums are displaying old topics & old posts just fine, however any new topic or post that is created is being met with an error. Clicking on a new topic shows: Error code: 2F173/L - "Sorry, there is a problem There are no posts to show" I looked at our database via phpMyAdmin and the ibf_forums_posts table doesn't show that it's crashed, so I'm not sure what the issue or fix is.
