Okay I did all the other steps but I got confused on Step 4: Master CSS Files This is the part is weird, Let me explain more about this: To use the master_css: Go to public/style_css/ Make a copy of the css_1 directory, and rename the copy to master_css. Okay now when I go to my FTP account then look for public/style_css then start looking for css_1 directory, guest what I can't find css_1 in style_css. Is css_1 is the default skin for Ip.Board ? if it is then mine is css_6 Idk why I don't have css_1 So please explain how can I do this.

Hi, For my forum (3000 users, 700000 posts, usually about 150-200 users online) I have a VPS with: RAM 3072 MB Discspace 30 GB CPU-cores 2 × 2.4 Ghz @ 80% my database filesize is 1GB Will it improve the page load time of my website if i get better cpu, more ram or more discspace? I am using the latest ipboard with wordpress via ipsconnect. Also, I couldn't find much about mod_pagespeed here. Is anyone here who is using it and is seeing improvements in their page speeds?

We are hosting our own server, it's a Mac OS X 10.4.11 with PHP 4.4.9 We have some problems with our forum that is due to a low memory limit in PHP. However, I have changed the memory_limit on every place I could found (to 256M), without success. Is there any way to *verify* the set memory_limit? php -i dosen't give me a clue. Further, there is a line enabling "Zend Memory Manager". What is this and should it be on? We are moving the forum to a new server later this year, but it's nice to have it working in the meanwhile. Query about bridging MediaWiki and IPB on current site PCGamingWiki.com. May pay if necessary. May be opportunity for long term server administration as well. Currently there is a bridge between the Wiki and PHPBB3 as well as a number of other wikis such as this one. I had a person who managed my server and developed the initial Wiki and PHPBB3 bridge, but might not be able to maintain it in the future. I’m deprecating PHPBB3 in favour of IP Board because of its more powerful features. so im on a brand new server which i migrated several cms and ipb forum, have xeon 1230v2, 16gb ecc ram and noticed that my server dies once a week and my httpd memory use around 6-9gb memory each instances. i have low iowait so are there any tool like mysqltuner that can give advice what apache config i can change on httpd.conf? since httpd confg right now is running on default since i got this server 3 weeks ago

Hi All, I would like to create a remote connection to the IPS MySQL datasbase that runs my forum. However I have tried using the domain supplied as my adrdess but connection fails. I have already added my IP in CPanel section for remote MySQL connections and also open the software on my firewall tto allow this as an exception. Pretty sure its the host name Im getting wrong. I upgraded to 3.4.5 at the same time I UPGRADED to a VPS from shared. Has 768mb RAM. Since then I have daily crashes - the host says: The forum probably has maximum 200-300 people active every hour. Around 2,500 visits a day, say 15,000 page views. Any tips an tricks for tuning IPB and also anyone know if any hooks, mods etc. know to use a lot of memory? Thanks, Simon

After a server move, MAC os x 10.8.4 server, got mysql installed and copied over my databases (Imported only my IPB.Board ones presently, all was good. Ran the forum for a day, then, installed a drobo thunderbolt unit, had to reboot. Now I can not start MYSQL. ownership of mysql directory is root, ownership of the data subdir and all files under it is _mysql MYSQL was working before the restart. It is not now. According to both Adsene and Google Analytics, my average page load time is around 12 seconds! Adsense is saying this is affecting my revenue. Any ideas on how to improve the page load speed? There's plug-in that do this for Wordpress. I wanted to know what options exist for Deferring the parsing of JavaScript IPS suite to speed up page loads. Is this even a good idea for a forum app? I was always wondering if someone would make a hook for Deferring the parsing of JavaScript so the setting would not break with every IPS update.

Ended up having to migrate to cPanel and I'm having one odd issue I can't resolve. As I mentioned this is a cPanel / PHP5 / DSO PHP Handler / Suexec [OFF] configuration. Hi All...(Hope this is OK to post here.) Well, I am coming today to see if I can find someone that can help with my server config. While I am not new to communities and server etc, I just do not have the time to put into adding items needed and setting a good config. I'm having trouble accessing my test forum locally hosted using xampp that I had set up a few months ago. Xampp and the forum is located at c:/xampp/htdocs/forums. The url I'm using is localhost/xampp/htdocs/forums. I tried clearing the cache. I also tried three different browsers, all saying object not found. I can however access this page, localhost/xampp/. And when I use this url, C:/xampp/htdocs/forums/ I see the parent directory. I also tried running xampp with admin rights.

Hello, I just post here because I noticed that a few members have what they call "coded signatures", which are iframes integrated in their signatures so they can show plenty of things with a nice layout. I have nothing against these signatures but I was wondering if iframes get the pages much slower ? As well, what's better between an iframe from a page of my own website and an iframe of a page hosted elsewhere ? Many thanks for your help !

Previously, I was using Xcache 1.3.2, PHP Version 5.3.26, and IPB 3.34 with no issues. Well except that the forum has issues unless you run Xcache Read only protection. Now I have been upgraded to Xcache 2.0.1 (same IPB and PHP versions) ) and I can't seem to get it to work. I am using a Centos 5.9 XENpv VPS (Apache) with 1.5/2.5 Gb memory and 16 CPU's. Even with the default configuration, the second I turn Xcache on via my global config file, my website goes blank. The required apache reboot does nothing.
