69.64.35.154 is responsible for over 750 users at one time. I did search and Honeypot doesn't show anything negative and it goes back to Hosting Solutions International out of St. Louis Missouri. I watched my message board go from 43 users online to nearly 800 in a matter of just a couple of minutes. Do you know what this is any what it's doing?

I'm looking to hire a trustworthy experienced professional that can convert my vBulletin v4.2.2 Suite website to IPB. I may wait till IPB v4 is released, but I do already own a license for the latest version of IPB, so Im still open to converting now. My site is using vbSEO, so all URLs will need to be properly redirected. Otherwise, by the looks of the converting tools, it looks to be pretty straightforward. See my website here... http://blackberryos.com Please leave me a PM with quote on how much you can do the service for, and when you'd be able to complete the job. Thanks!

Sorry for the dumb question, I checked the stats area on the admin panel but I couldn't find an option that shows the total number of page views (sorted by day, week, month, etc). BTW I'm not talking about topic views, I want to know the total page views (number of people who got in any part of the site) in a specific time frame.

Hi support, We had to change our full url to our fourms and we do have a problem. 1. We changed all of our SSL certificates. 2. We updated our URL in the conf_global.php We cannot access the ACP as the server is holding the url within the 'cache' database. When we look at the html source of the login page to the ACP is still has the submit URL to the old URL. Is there a script to re-initialize the cache database store so we can access the ACP? From what I can tell there are two fields that have the old URL. Any one else experiece this issue? Thanks, CHAP246

Sorry for the ALL CAPS :frantics: title, but this is an important issue all server admins here need to be aware of. This is a warning of a major vulnerability in all versions of OpenSSL 1.0.1 to OpenSSL 1.0.1f - chances are, you are running a version of OpenSSL vulnerable to this exploit. For more information, please see this page: http://heartbleed.com/ Please immediately update any servers you are running to the latest release of OpenSSL. You should receive a notice on upgrading that the upgrade you are using addresses a major vulnerability, and it will prompt you to restart all services that rely on OpenSSL in any way. If you can, a complete server restart…

This is my first time trying to set up a local testing server, and I could really use some help! I already have a live site, but now I want to do some development without screwing it up. Here's what I've been able to do so far: installed Wamp Server 2.4, 32-bit, with Apache 2.4.4, PHP 5.4.16, and MySQL 5.6.12 installed ioncube (the installer chose the version for me) on my live site, created backups of my home directory and sql databases imported my sql database on my local server (localhost) using phpmyadmin put a copy of my entire home directory at c:wampwwwmysite.org That's where I get stuck. In my browser, if i go to localhost/mysite.org/ I see "Index of /…

I want to be able to work on my site without affecting the live portion, but some threads I've read make it seem like I need an entire second license to set this up? Am I understanding this right? If so, how do people work on their site without doing it live or taking the site offline?

We just upgraded -- and now IPS no longer allows members to send directly to another another member's email -- they have to leave a PM -- which is causing a rise in PM storage space -- and members are wanting more storage space. I was wondering who much space these boxes really take up on the server -- and what is a general average # messages that other boards are allowing members to store? Much thanks- Bob

Hello, I am transferring a PHP fusion forum to IPB. The problem is like this: I have set $INFO['sql_charset'] = 'utf8'; in conf_global.php I have set utf8_lithuanian_ci collation to mysql columns that need to contain lithuanian special characters (ie. in posts table "post" column) Now everything is working fine. Except when I make a new post, the new post is displayed as having ? instead of the lithuanian special characters, even though in the database it displays the characters correctly. How to get them to display properly? BTW. If i remove utf8 from $INFO['sql_charset'] = 'utf8'; all old posts display ? instead of the special characters, but new …

So, I had the first spammer attack in about a year today. From what I've researched, it looks like the email was identified in a SFS database, but the IP resolved to a proxy located in the US. The IPS spam system did not block this user and they were able to get in and post a bunch of spam in the forums. Banning and cleanup was done promptly. First, any idea why this email that was in SFS wasn't trapped by IPS's spam filters? Second, how can I improve my spam filtering to prevent this type of thing? My site is US based, so I've blacklisted non-US IP blocks to a large degree and of course the "bad" bots/spiders. But when someone jumps through a US based pro…

I got the following email from the webhost - It looks as it is time to move on higher version of server or the problem is something else....please advise what to be done Hello, Your account has been abusing CPU resources for an extended period of time. As a result all of your sites have been cached in order to ensure continued performance stability of the server. While we do limit each account to no more than 25% of a system's CPU in our terms of service, we do not actively take actions against accounts until they greatly exceed that number, which is what happened in this case. Please take a moment to review this email in full as it contains important information and r…

For example, it's at the very bottom of this page too: <div><img src='http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=core&module=task' alt='' style='border: 0px;height:1px;width:1px;' /></div> I don't really see what this is supposed to do. It's essentially making the request count twice higher.

Hey Guys. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out with this. I'd like to change the default User Registration URL for my Forum, The reason I need to do this is because over the past month I'm getting 25K+ views per day from Spam Bots trying to register on the forum. I have been thinking of a solution to this issue for quite a while now and It's really driving me up the wall, The Server keeps Hanging/Crashing and SQL Database sometimes Crashes too. the forum is not very active. it's simply a small support forum for Clients, the monthly bandwidth on the account is 22GB and counting. so i figured the only way I'm going to stop this is if I change the Regi…

Recently I changed my 'sessions' table to be in MEMORY to the advice of many people here. At around that time I noticed one member sending me double and triple personal messages. When he tries to upload an attachment with flash uploader it also shows twice. The sessions table now has sizeable overhead since MEMORY tables could not be optimized, it is 4.6MB with 3.2MB overhead. I wonder if it is somehow connected to the issue of double posting? I've searched on the forums and it seems many people have it and the only answer I found is that it is caused by outdated cache...which I can imagine is distantly related to 'sessions'.

Getting old is a real pain sometimes. I have been leasing a server for the last few years and now, due to age and health issues, I have been restricted and limited in my activities. Operations and medical issues have put severe limitations on free time and mobility. The problem and situation means that I am looking for a competetent and honest server manager, preferrably one who has experience with CentOS and cPanel/whm, who is willing to trade free use of the server (the usual do's and don'ts) and half the space, for managing the machine and fixing a few technical problems along the way. Some files on the system were hacked last summer so the server was wiped, reloaded,…

Hi all, I currently run a managed dedicated server which is currently running SQL 5.0. Having looked in the WHM panel, there are options to upgrade this to either SQL 5.1 or 5.5. Question. Should I just hit the upgrade button to upgrade SQL to 5.5, and if so what preperations should I do before taking the plunge! I'm currently using a CENTOS 5.10 x86_64 server, 4 GB RAM, 3.0GHz E8400. Needless to say I hardly delve under the bonnet by going into WHM, so any potential problems or advice would be appreciated. Thanks Simon

First, I am not very technically proficient in IPS, but I have a forum with over 5 million posts. The site uses the latest version of IPS software and is hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS). The VPS currently has 2 GB of dedicated RAM and 50 GB of disk space. When the site is busy it will use all 2 GB of RAM dedicated to the VPS, and as much other RAM available on the server that's not being used by other VPS containers on the same server. When the other sites aren't using much RAM I get better performance, but when they do, the site suffers because the 2 GB limit just isn't enough for peak times. The main issue is I get a lot of SQL issues with tables crashin…

I'm not very knowledgeable on the security side of things, so I thought I'd run these options by you guys in hopes that you can offer some input. I'd like to implement SSL for my entire site, and will need to purchase an SSL cert obviously. Below are the 4 currently available options I can get directly via my hosting company. Any thoughts around the options and pricing? Not sure if the GeoTrust QuickSSL Premium supports subdomains like Comodo Essential Wildcard does, but that seems like something to consider/verify.

Hi everyone, i doubt IIS is much popular around here, nevertheless i will make a simple question regarding caching and optimization: - As the /public folder contains the images and CSS info, i defined IIS to cache it (activate HTTP keep alive and Expire the web content only after 8 days - i am not going to change my skin a lot of time) and i suppose it is allright to cache this folder's content on the user side for 8 days, and it should improve greatly the load time. Do you agree? - What other caching/speed up tips may you give me for IIS? Regards
