I remember there being a way to have titles have automatic upload numbering in them...It was something like Name pg. $n or something like this? Does anyone know? I tried searching for this, couldn't find anything about it.

Is the only way to insert an image into the About Me field is to do so from a URL? To include the url option, yes, but to make it the only option? Is there no way to insert it the traditional upload way, or at the very least from the member's gallery, though that would also be APITA. Thoughts anyone? Thanks!!

Hi all. I would like to assign a membership number to my members. This would be used offline on cards, etc. It would likely have two letters then six numbers. So two options. I assume I can pull the member ID, somehow, add two letters, and use it in emails and other templates. I don't know how to do this, but I'm sure I can find a dev to do it. Or, does something exist? Did anyone write an app that allows us to manage member IDs, display them on the postbit, etc.? It all exists and I missed it? Thanks all.

I'm not native English so I don't quite understand this option and what it does. In a usergroup I can enable both the "can post" and "can import" status updates. Now for the import option it says: So to me this means that if you have Facebook integration users can import status from Facebook. Like what kind of statuses? But this will probably be kept disabled anyway. I don't see a description with the "can post status updates". What are status updates, and where are they posted, is there an explanation or an example?

Just have two questions. 1.) My users were asking for a preview option. So I told them that with Invision you don't need it because for example smilies were shown at once. Same for when using bold or anything, will be changed instantly so no preview option was needed anymore. Is this correct? Is there no preview option of a message anymore? Our users are used to make use of bbcodes and quote and code bbcode manually and they can't see what they are doing when using them manually (so by typing them). Until now I was used (on various other forum softwares) to create small quotes manually. So If I just wanted to quote af few words or only 1 line of a certain user I would mention his name in the quote like this. [ quote=Black Tiger]This is a small quote[ /quote] And then I wrote my reply below it and the user's name was shown in some way so it was clear this was a line which was quoted from a certain user. This is still possible in Invision, but the username automatically disapplears and it only says "quote" and nothing else. I know I can do this by selecting a line and then use the quote option, but can't we do this manually anymore? …

We are on a vanilla, hosted Invision community; I'd like to make a particular sub-forum's tagging feature available only to admins/moderators, to allow us to manage bug reports. As far as I can see, you can enable/disable tags and tag prefixes when editing a forum's post settings, but not on a per-user-group basis. Am I missing something or is that not possible? Hi, I've set my support desk to reply from department, not the staff member and yet, the replies still come from the staff member. I tried by creating a new request for the member and same problem. I get: [staffmember] has created a support request on your behalf. I thought it would have the name of the [department] instead. Thoughts? Thanks running on 4.4

Wondering if there is a way to find out which pages member have browsed? Like a browsing history for each logged in member. I'm not talking about their activity on which post they reply or created a topic, but just "browsing". This can help a lot in optimizing, which type of member browsing which type of pages. Unlike in Google Analytics overall numbers rather than per member based.

See i have this problem i dont know if it is bots or humans but tons of account get made with a random display name, weird email address, and a different ip every time. And they post these like medicine selling posts or something Is there some plugin / setting that can detect spam advertising? If you go on my website (pcmasterhelp.com) you can find these posts easily, as there are not many real users on there yet.

Can anyone please advise what the situation is with setting up recurring subscriptions for members? Have you put your plans on hold or are using alternatives? I've read through the guidance here and seen the comments in the AdminCP, but it leaves me uncertain of how or whether I should proceed at all. It's pretty worrying and it seems like the days where you could simply set it up are long gone. Am I the only "fool" that thinks of venues not only like physical locations, but also virtual locations or internet meeting points? For example, nowadays users can meet in Fortnight or any other game server to play. They can also meet in youtube live videos to comment and yell to each other, Alas! 🎥 they can also meet on Instagram live ... I need URL links and/or pictures for the venues; not only addresses. For Pages, how can I make the breadcrumb path different than the folder structure? It's common and SEO safe per Google. If I had a new site I'd pick a new folder structure but things are 10 years old.

I need to build a development board that is a duplicate of my main board but on a different domain on the same server. I know I can create a duplicate database on the original domain and link to it from the dev domain and I can copy all the files from the original folder across to a password-protected folder on the dev domain. Having done that, what changes do I need to make to the database/config files to get everything working?

Is there a way to make registration fields conditional? Such as a radio button or checkbox that when selected, additional content appears that may be then completed? The thought is having the registration form change dynamically based on answers so that it tailors to the community members registering based on their answers.

We have a section of our forum that has been set with "Users can see topics posted by other users". Is there a way to create a sticky post that is visible and readable to all while keeping all other posts under the above topic post restriction? Intent: we would like to be able to put readable sticky post with guidance in it regarding how to use the area of the portal. I know its a long shot but had to ask.

Is there not a way for file owners to see a purchase list rather than only a downloads history for paid files? My members keep complaining about how it's a pain having to sift through pages and pages of downloads history to make a manual purchase list for record keeping purposes since some downloads provide multiple files, and their customers download the files multiple times causing the list to have several upon several duplicates. Hi all, I think it would be great to have a method to include advertisement banners in the notification email system. Right now the only options are to include social links and promoted content.
