Stop PM SPAM

My board has had several PM spam broadcasts recently. Last night, a member registered and sent 540 emails every to a single member at a time every few minutes. I looked through the board options, but I don't see any way to stop or detect this other than by disabling PM's entirely. Presumably, he used a script of some kind, so we can expect much more of this. The spammers skip the moderators and admins, so we don't find out until someone complains.

HTML emails

It would be nice if you spent some effort in making the email sent by IPB look as good as the forum. That is, there should be an option to generate emails in HTML (as well as sending the plain text version). I'd think you could use the skinning system to provide HTML templates for each email type and treat the generation of an email just like the generation of a page (that is, they should look good). The short lined plain text emails are adequate, but these days, most people view emails in a client that can display HTML...

Make Better Premium Modifications

Hi, Could IPS pay or maybe get the modders to make better premium & update modifications? As currently, there isn't many of these around for IP Board. EG There is alot of these money or bank modifications, but there doesn't seem to be any " stable " or ones that are universally used. vbulletin has alot of modifications that are reguarly updated and upgraded. I can't really explain what I mean, but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm trying to express.

Just as that topic says I think people that refer others to IP. Services, should get some compensation upon valid sign up. Meaning if I reffer someone to buy IP. Board, and they buy IP. Blog, IP. Gallery, and IP. Downloads, I should either get a discount on a future purchase, a free one shot year upgrade for a component service, or maybe a coupon to use in the future. This might work when, signing up for a product you plug in the e-mail of the person that referred or there first and last name. Hello ppl :) I have a heavy-modded phpbb forum (version 2.0.18) and I want to upgrade to IPB. I have a lot of mods installed like -subforums -calendar -welcome panel mod -birthday mod -attachment mod etc The truth is that I don't care much about the calendar, the welcome panel or the birthday mod. Okay I was reading a topic in this forum and it said that if I pay 10 dollars a month I get IP.Board but I don't get to add mods and skins. Is this true? Also if I dished out the 150 dollars would I have to pay the 25 dollars or not? The 25 dollars every 6 months is only for upgrades and ticket support right?. Oh yeah one more question. Large database handling

I have seen very large database (over 800MB) of various users. That takes a tall load on the server from a resource point of view,. specifically on RAM. I would like to see an Archive option that would split somehow the Posts file into Posts1, Posts2 etc.. as users don't really read 5 months' worth of messages, but if they run a search or try to do an insert (while there are 300 active concurrent users), the server starts to show high CPU loads. By providing a mechanism that check periodically on the size of the Posts table, and limiting it to 200MB, and then spilling over to a new table, or running an Optimization that would spill over messages that are active to th…

Greetings. I have some ideas for improvement of forums. I would would like that in access rights it was possible to resolve and to not resolve not only reading by that, but also reading titles ем. I would want that visitors моуго a forum saw only what there are themes, but read them could not if I him shall not resolve. If we are able to insert a table in a topic, I think it's a good feature. It will make the topic richer. Does IPS have plan to add this feature? or, this feature has been included in current version (I'm a new custumer :rolleyes: ). There should be a feature when you create a category and forum, you can have a board ID. Instead of the old: http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showforum=298 There should be: http://forums.invisionpower.com/boardID?=feedback Something like that. It should also go for IF as well. Something else I remembered: The member name should be the color of it's group all over the forum.

Suggestion: Gently PM limitation

Current PM system has limit for total PM in box. That causes problems with usability. When user PM box is overflowed, nobody can sent PMs to him. I offer another limitation method. If PM box limit exceeded, then: user still can reseive PMsuser can't send own PMsI think, such limitation is much more user-friendly. We have guaranty, that any PM will be received. Of cause, that can be combined with existing limitations. For example: cant'n send after 100 PMs in box & can't receive after 200 PMs in box.
