Dear IPB users, I just now upgraded to 3.0.4 and then then added clean cut skin Its not showing portal plugins like "recent posts", navigation bar , random gallery... Please chk the link http://spicyflavours.net/index.php?app=portal In IP board skin its showing and when you switch to Clean cut skin its coming blank I am using Google chrome... It would be great if in their settings member could opt-out of receiving search results for some forums. For example we have a games forum which some members love to participate in, but others don't want to see when viewing new posts or searching for topics. It would be good if, if they wish they can select forum games to not be added to when searching. Or any other forum they have no interest in.

Has anyone experience converting big boards to IP and running boards with more than 1 million posts. How's performance? Any problems you ran into when converting? How's search? My board has: 1.5+ million posts Lots of megathreads (more than 30k posts per thread) MySQL database is about 1.3 gigs (40% is index data) 3+ gigs worth of attachments (stored in file system) Running on two seperate machines SQL gets ~200 queries per second Web server load average is about 0.8

I've done a few test conversions from SMF 1.1 and I must say I'm pretty impressed with the converter. The thing I like most is that the converter preserves the passwords. During my test conversions I ran into a few issues. The first few times I ran the converter, it hang when converting the posts. It turned out I had a post on my forum where a member tried to embed a photo using bcc codes. The post ended with Now that I've got everything converted I'm going over the forum to see what's been missed. The only issues that I have discovered so far, are: /[img[ and the converter didn't like it, but this was easily fixed by editing the post and removing the tag. The next…

I co-run a forum that's busy at the best of times (around 28k members and 1000 active daily). I've been reading through a few of the threads here and having heard some of the problems you guys have been having, is it worth our while to upgrade or wait for the bugs to be worked out? We're currently running Board 2.3.6 and the last thing I want to do is try and introduce a new look board and have it go belly up on me. TIA Les

Since the editing of post subtitles from the forum index page seems to be gone (???), I've had to resort to using the full editor to edit them. (We use the subtitle to track membership actions.) Here's what happens to me on a repeatable basis, although not 100% of the time. But at least 80%. Open topic. Select EDIT button on first post. Screen goes to FAST REPLY box or EDIT display opens, then closes and goes to the FAST REPLY box. Select EDIT button again. Select USE FULL EDITOR. Change subtitle. Save modified post. In 3.0 we don't have the option from the EDIT button to select the FULL or QUICK editor anymore, which adds a lot of keystrokes to my edits.…

I have some suggestions that I would love to see implemented in the UCP in the future; these suggestions are both original and derived from other forum software. I hope to see some added in the future! UCP Layout I don't think the tabbed layout works that well with the UCP. I like the fact that there are tabs, but I don't like the fact the layout revolves around them. I like the old style of the left-hand-side options. Possibly some AJAX for expanding and contracting them, and maybe still use tabs a bit? Anyone else have problems with the FAST REPLY box not displaying consistently? I'm seeing it show up this way on multiple machines, operating systems, and displays, on all skins including the default IPB one, so I don't know what to think. When a page is redrawn, the FAST REPLY box will often show huge icons and you can't click into the reply box. This is what it looks like: Any help?

This one is frustrating for me - that the only "Back to Top" option is now at the bottom of a page. I used the heck out of the Back To Top at each post/reply location. My users have noticed its absence as well.

I thought i might share some of my ideas for a future realse of IP Subscriptions that i would like to see in it. 1. The ability to use a base package then be able to select a duration and pay for that. e.g. to become a premium member users need to pay, they can either have one year or two year subscriptions, instead of having two different packages the user could just select the one pack and chosse the duration. 2. Discounts/Promo's - Have the choice of offering discount coupons that work for all packs or for just one pack, that code being able o be used multipul times or just once. Hello, Today was Update for my forum, after a backup of FTP + DB to my version 2.3.6, I start update of it, everything goes well ... I rebuilt the messages etc ... And Boom, I realize that my BBCodes have not been rebuilt and it is always in HTML ... I turn the Youtube BBCode in Media, I had rebuild as handsome as I wanted, nothing ... I know we have discussed this search issue a lot, but I continue to get a lot of complains - like this one I got today: To summarize the main problems with the default search form are: 1. No option to return threads, rather than posts, as results. 2. Default search for multiple words is logical "or" rather than "and" The combination of these two issues makes the search pretty useless - especially for those of us coming from Vbulletin, that by comparison, has a much more usable default search. I have a mod which uses the built in editor. I want to really limit the bbcodes they can use. I've read this article http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/official.html?record=131 and successfully 'registered' my mod's editor to the AdminCP. Now, I want to go through the bbcodes and switch 'off' the ones I don't want. It seems to me that the way I need to do this is bbcode centric rather than modification centric, what I would call 'upside down'. See what I need to do for ecach bbcode that I want to disable is work with this kind of screen and mult-select in the second list so that I select everything EXCEPT my mod. Hello, As a returning Invision customer (gone three years), I was curious about ticket responses. I guess I was spoiled with vB usually getting a response after about an hour or so. I have a ticket open which has been dragging on for days. I send in a reply and by the time I get a response from support, usually 24 hrs have passed - basically I hear nothing until the next day. It`s making solving even a simple issue seem like it has been going on forever. Today I had to respond to a personal conversation with some sensitive information - and it was important that the information stayed private. So in compose reply window - all it says is "Compose reply" with no indication of who you are replying to or what message you are replying to. Now I was pretty sure I had clicked the correct conversation etc - but still it would be nice to have a little context in the reply window like: Reply to "Where did you go for your hemorrhoid surgery" by JohnG or something so I'm sure I'm not going to make an embarrassing mistake.
