Okay this would basically be like the Calendar, except on some major steroids. Take the concept of Outlook's calendar system, along with Google's calendar, where you can specify an event (all day/timed, single/ranged/repeating, etc), but where someone could put in a 'request' for a certain open time frame and the owner of that 'calendar' could approve the appointment. Would need to support multiple people that can be scheduled (as the host), where those hosts would be able to be labeled as when they are (or will be) available. Please allow a setting to allow secondary group icons to be seen in posts. There are some secondary groups that need to be recognized this way. It would also be good for an option to allow the group to be listed as text where the member's groups are listed. Thank you!

Hi, Can you consider to add an 'Edit Member' button for administrators in the profile screen. When pressing the admin goes immediately to the 'Edit Member' module in the admin section. In vB I was able to make admins invisible. If I force admins to be invisible on IPB I also have to have anonymous login enabled for everyone. Please make it so the "force" overrides this setting, so it can be off globally while maintaining usergroup control. Thank you!

Something that I find interesting is that there is no option to allow the admin to retain data when uninstalling an application. What if the admin simply wants to remove the application (for whatever reason) but does not want to lose the data at all? There may be situations where removing the application is important, but not at the cost of losing the data associated with it. Therefore, there should be a few choices. One is to do a normal removal, where the data is removed as the way is now. Then two options for data retention. One being no data removed, the other being a more advanced option, where the admin may pick and choose sections of data to retain or remove…

Hello there! Just a suggestion, but I think it's a good one: replace all 'private' properties and methods with 'protected' As I just started to hack the IPBcode, trying to add new features, I already ran into a dead end because of the 'private' modifier. Generally, protected is much better choice when you have a possibility of someone else writing some addon or mod. It's also much better for writing test cases since it is difficult to write a test for the private methods.

So I had two ideas of things that would be awesome to see. First: Grant forum permission access by a Profile Field, I use profile fields as my lazy db for a lot of my stuff, just make it so no one can see them except Admins and supers, but I'd really like the ability to grant access to forums based on what is contained in their profile field. Second: Kind of like what you have in your client area, how a user can create an account for another user and then be able to limit what that user can do on the forums/site.

I have a question: How big is too big for a database using IPB system (already upgraded to 3.1 if it matters). I guess I'm just worried as my back up zip file of the database grows... I wonder what problems can creep in. Maybe someone with a ton more experience than me with forum databases can give me a few pointers here. Just to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with: 250,000 posts in 6 months so far from about 3000 members. The DB seems to be about 400 MB now, and at this point zipped up backup file is about 70 MB. What problems are on my horizon :) Thanks in advance for any advise!

I was wondering, considering that I will be converting my SMF development site to IPB soon, if there are any discounts given to those who are application contributors as well as already active license holders. I hold a single license for IP.Board, IP.Blog and IP.Chat (20), and I am also in the middle of developing some apps for IPB. I want to convert my current development site to IPB to take advantage of IP.Content, IP.Tracker and IP.Downloads, as well as some other well made apps for IPB. Anyways, just curious if there are any special discounts for those purchasing a second license or if you have multi-site licenses available. Thanks for any answers.

Why does the Calendar have 3 buttons/forms to add an event (single, recurring, ranged)? These three buttons/forms should be combined into 1 Add Event button/form. The 3 buttons add too much clutter to the page.

I have purchased most of your products. I wanted help with migration and help in initial setup. I have called numerous times. I have been told you guys would e-mail me or call me back. I read the changes for 3.1.1, but I still suggest slightly different wording in the dropdow. Even now I was still confused what custom wins and default wins meant. I thought it was using wins as a noun. lol I was thinking "what is a win"? I did finally realize it means you're letting your custom or default skin "win" in the differences, but maybe slightly different wording would make it more obvious? Since IPS now includes the mobile skin with IPB there needs to be a way to duplicate the skin if need be just like you can make a duplicate copy of the IPB default skin in the ACP if you need to. At present if something corrupts the mobile skin there is no way to repair it. Either that or there needs to be a download of that skin? I just went thru this and Matt fixed it for me but he nor anybody else should have to do that.

Hi, Today one of our members decided to report as spam an email from us advising them of a status update. This happens a bit on AOL, as rather than logging in and updating their preferences they decide to mark as spam. Having gone into his profile via the ACP I can see no way to turn off his ability to get notifications via email. There is the old option to stop emails from admin, but I am guessing this is not connected, or shouldn't be as these are not really related. We do seem to be rather limited making changes to users from the ACP and should really have control over all settings that a user can make. For now I have changed his email, which will mean he wil…

I am doing translation of IPB and some of it's applications/hooks on Russian. This is not my first attempt of localization - I was doing it since 2.3.6. So I have some things to discuss. Maybe you'll consider them in the future. First, a simple stuff: don't know why, but string "Licensed to" keeps being hardcoded. However it's quite reasonable to make it editable and translatable. Right now I have to manually add a string to language pack and add a reference in PHP file. Which is of course goes away with each update. Second, more simple stuff: There's no way to translate Help Files public title, which is now application, as I can guess. At least I didn't find…

Manage Suspended There's a manage area for locked/banned/validating and spam members. What about suspended members? Member Searching - Search by warn level. Greater than, less than, equal to. - "About Me" - Search for members with blank or non-blank "about me" info - Signatures - Same as "About Me" Spammers are now using the about me and signatures to spam a board. So they have a '0' post count but if someone happens upon their profile, boom, advertising. So being able to search for members during a certain time period and having something in their 'about me' would help to find new members who are trying to spam that way.
