It's a good start, but I'd like to see more functionality here Approve/Unapprove Topic Approve/Unapprove Post Soft Delete (post and topic) Soft Un Delete (post and topic) Move Topic There's probably a few more I've forgotten to add, but it would be super if you could implement most if not all of these :)

I have over 3Gb monthly uploads, original IPB storage system isn't convenient! I make my own storage system, but each updating of the forum version it's necessary to waste time on modification of a large quantity of files. Please, make universal storage! My idea (it's work on my forum): All uploads in uploads/monthly*/ , no other special dirs Under monthly* dirs - system & component dirs: (based on $type from class_attach) /monthly/post (image, thumb) /monthly/msg .. /monthly/profile (avatars, photos, bg's) /monthly/gallery (image, med, thumb) Under every components dir - subdirs for images, thumb, screenshots.. Directory setup - in ACP for all co…

It should be possible to edit the application names in ACP with a simple menu over several languages, so the navbar tabs change the title with changing language (if you wish). I know there is the possibility to do this with adding phrases with appname_display_title but it's something you have to know and for a new user impossible to figure out on it's own. I answered three times today in threads with a similar question, so obviously there is need for this :)

Please consider opening a wiki, http://mediawiki.org/ It is free, open source and the best part is that now the community can create help pages for each other. I know you have the community articles; but those are pretty poor how they are implemented for reading and finding. The official documentation even on installing and using some things is poor (someone rightfully commented earlier how IP Content documentation is virtually non existent for a product of its complexity). Thoughts? I am not trying to be rude by posting this; just that this is an obvious gap in the IPB product line that a wiki would help. You can even have pages that only IPB staff can update (of…

Hello there! What I truly love about IPB is the ability to choose a different login and display name. That being said, many users choose the very same display and loginname, which sometimes leads to very time-consuming problems an admin shouldn't necessarily take care of. Anyways... is there an option to force users to choose a different login and display name upon registration? I couldn't find one. If not, please add this. It could save my nerves *grrr* (Yes, I know that one can change the display-name in the UCP!) Thanks, Ikadon

Currently, there is no default functionality to set Topic Prefixes for users to use when creating a new topic. I think there should be a Topic Prefixes feature in IP. Board, like vBulletin. Its a very handy feature. What do you think? Click if you support this suggestion.

I must say, through the years as a human on earth, I've NEVER been treated the way MARK WADE, MARK, Jason, and COLLIN S. treat me, these guys are phenominal in their work, NO MATTER how many questions I ask, THEY give me answers almost instantly! and have even on occasion HELPED with my site! Now, to prove this true, i am a damn retard when it comes to HTML and SITE design, yet they have ALL helped someone who knows nothing NEAR what they know put together a phenominal site! Through the pain-staking questions and REPEATED ones too, they ALL have helped me grow! IP BOARD ROCKS from billing to tech support! you guys deserve the BEST of this holiday season! Merrychrisma…

Hello, you should concider update error codes list, which is located here: http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/documentation/ips_error_codes.html/_/invision-power-board-3xx For example, one of my member has problem with IP.Download, so I checked for him error code and get this result: However on list we have only this: That's my 2 cents. :)

Hi, Please add the feature to mass delete all threads in Trash can with 1 click. Currently you have to select all threads then select delete then select go then confirm. And if there are multiple pages then you have to do this multiple times. Thank you.

Isn't it confusing that there are usually (but not always) two link options when a username is displayed? Click the username to open a full profile link in a new page, or click the small icon next to it to open a small javascript popup in the same page. If you have javascript disabled (or are a search engine) both links go to the full profile view. Can we have just one link style? I suggest the javascript popup serves the needs of most people, and doesn't require navigating away from the current page. Clicking the username should simply open the javascript popup. The full profile can be viewed from a link in the popup. Currently, that link is the username (again). Might…

I've played around with the tools, demo's, etc. and everything looks great! I'm very pleased. One suggestion I have is for the "Resources" area. I've been very pleased with vbulletin.org and their modding community/setup, and I think what you have here is great. I would recommend giving users the capability to sort modifications, applications, hooks, skins, etc. by "Downloads". I do this often when trying to search for any mods that are very popular and have been used by many other forums (via vBulletin.org). Don't worry, I'll be switching to IPB this month!! :) On this web site, I have to search through pages and pages of modifications to see what's popular out there, …

I'm a bit perplexed by this. Why don't you use the robots.txt file that you provide for your own site? How do you know if it is working correctly, efficently etc, if you aren't using it yourself?

After skinning a few of my sites I have found a few things that have really upset me. 1. There is no search and find in the CSS editor, this is a must have when you have css files with as many lines as IPB does. 2. When setting up a css file, you should have all attributes for that element in one position within the css file. An example of this is have this one line 925 .moderation_bar {background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #E3F0FF;} And then also having this on line 2500 border: #000000; ;} .moderation_bar { There are several times when either the original coder either forgot where his or her code was in the css file or was just lazy and didn't keep all o…

So I hate to be blunt but on many sections of your documentation (especially developers sections) where it says "Was this article helpful?" honestly I want to say no. But I don't because I'd be typing all day long. It's nice you've recently come out with the better search... it allows me to find the beginning of the answer I need easier, now to just fix the article and put in the REST of the answer. If I'm not mistaken your documentation sections are powered by IP.Content right? If so allow the Wiki editing! I'd love to add my 5 cents on things I do know and hear about things that have been left out that other people add in. If not the Wki at least add comments! I r…

This may seem picayune to some, but I would really like to see a link back to the Admin CP from the install/upgrade script. I suppose having links back to IPS could come in handy for me, some day. But having an Admin CP link would be handy, every time I upgrade. Yes, I fully admit to being lazy. <shrug>

In the next IP.Downloads version we will have the possibility to comment on the files. What I would like for this new comment system is not only being able to comment directly under the file page, but also that all these comments are synchronized with an IP.Board topic. So you have 2 options: 1. You can comment in an IP.Board topic (and it will be displayed on IP.Downloads file comment page as well!) 2. You can comment on an IP.Downloads file page (and it will be displayed in IP.Board topic as well!) In other words, we synchronize both the comment systems, instead of storing data twice, we just grab comments from an IP.Board topic and display in IP.Downloads, and oth…

Members on my site would like the ability to see which posts have been given reputation points, maybe it should be possible to click on the Reputation: 3 green background on your profile, to list your recent posts that have been given points.

This is a new feature request. There is a modification available for this however unfortunately the developer said that he is not going to support it anymore: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/313238-download-sos31-block-forums-from-view-new-content-v200/ Can this feature be added inbuilt with the next version of IP.Board as many larger forums will find this feature very useful?

Sorry this would probably be better as a hook than an official IPB implementation but I think it'd be cool if users were able to view from where people came to view your profile.. For example here on this forum my profile has a little over 3k views. It'd be interesting to see what it was that attracted them to click my name in the first place if it was a post I wrote, if so what post, a status update, etc.

I've recently had some problems with my forum and server, and either Dan, Jason, or Lindy handled all my problems expeditously, treated me like a human being (no canned responses), and took the time to explain the issue and if there was anything I could do to prevent it or handle it in the future. They didn't get frusterated that I'm an amateur, or that I kept bugging them with every bug, they are really dedicated to making sure all my software and hardware is running as it should and even better then it should. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I've been a loyal Invision customer with multiple products for years, and the team members above along with sev…

It would be very useful if you could set up secondary users on accounts with email addresses that are already registered. For example I have to use a second account and post under that account if I wish to view and participate in some forums, due to some extra products expiring as they are not currently in use. Likewise if two users here worked together they cannot currently be secondary users on each others account and get access to the same forums.

Hi guys, I have been trying the trial version of your software for a few days, I'm impressed but I got some serious issues and suggestions for the warning system: - Moderators cannot give a custom level warning and I can't seem to find an option to enable it. The only thing I have found is that super moderators can do that, but I would like to see an option allowing normal moderators to give custom level warnings too. - When a member gets banned, it would be nice if he would automatically join the 'banned' membergroup. Now, he just remains in the member-status and it is very confusing for the moderator to see if he is actually banned or not. - In the ACP, the warn l…

I am a member of a forum that uses IPBoard. I get an ERN for every reply to a topic instead of 1 ERN until the next time I visit the topic. Is getting an ERN for every reply a bug or is it supposed to be like that? Is there a setting in the admin settings that letw them choose one way or the other? I've seen it both ways over the years but have always assumed getting 1 ERN for every post was a bug since only getting 1 ERN until the next time you visit the topic is more efficient and sensible.
