Hello, Why did IPS decide to remove the online indicator in IPB 3.2 ? I thought it was a nice feature to show whether a person was online or not. I know there's a hook for it now, but it seems extra work for such a standard thing. -Johan

The search option works wonderfully for forum posts, topics, and finding members, but it seems it is lacking when it comes to other applications such as IP.Blog and Tracker. I tried to do a search of blogs for the term "with", which is a common word. However, the search function returned 0 results, even though just clicking on the "Blogs" tab shows me a blog entry using the word. If blogs aren't meant to be searched, then they shouldn't have an entry in the search tool. If they are, then the content should be searchable and displayed same as forum posts. Also, the search feature seems to be spotty in the tracker. For example, a search for the word "bug" yielded…

When it comes to creating and editing templates, I'd call myself an advanced beginner. :wink: Not that the system was bad before, but I've been able to fully customizer my test board using IPB 3.2 with amazing speed and ease. It's tough wanting your forum to look a certain way but not knowing how to put those thoughts into the code. In 3.2 the CSS is just so easy to understand. To me, it's labeled very well. In fact because so much is control by the CSS file, it's just so easy to click, save and refresh. Props :smile: (Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I just learned about the "Rule of Thirds aka Divine Proportion" it appears IPB is using these rules. Who knew! :sm…

In 3.2 when looking at the forums list in the ACP you have that cool pencil icon followed by a drop down of other actions. The pencil is a visual clue to edit that particular forum data/info/behavior etc so why are the permissions in the next drop down and not a tab in the page that is shown when you click the pencil icon. Since you are editing the forum I would expect to manage the permissions there as well instead of having to go somewhere else.

Something you missed in the settings cleanup in 3.2... Settings should be consistently affirmative. "Enable thing?" defaulting to 'Yes' is good, "Disable thing?" defaulting to 'No' complicates things [especially when mixed with the former]. This is mostly a bother for forum and user/group settings, but there are some global settings as well which fall both ways. Forum settings: User groups: Users: Global: I don't know how easy it would be to change the wording and then flip the settings for the ones that have been around since prior versions, but the tag/prefix settings shouldn't be too much of an issue to fix.

Dear IPS Staff (insert your favourite boyband music here), I'm wondering if ip.portal will get updated for the 3.2.0 version? I would also like to ask more experienced members, if it's possible to have all the stuff Unreal Portal offers in IP.Portal as well? (Custom blocks, links, custom pages) I would be happy if at least I could setup a News forum which would export news topics to the portal end of the site. I know there's IP.Content but right now I don't plan on purchasing it and it looks like Unreal Portal has reached his EOL. Thanks.

When you press the topic preview button, it rolls down like normal (no problems there), but the first user's avatar jumps one pixel during the animation. It's not a big deal, but I'd think you'd want to fix this in order for things to be perfect for the final release. :wink: Tested with Mozilla Firefox 4 (Windows 7)

Is there any chance you can release another version of 3.1 with some updated functionality that we see in 3.2? The ajax replies most importantly, or provide a guide for us to install it ourselves. As unless a similar 3.1 skin is released I won't be upgrading and I'd love my forum to have the improved functions.

Hi, I though that this was added to IPB 3.2 but after trying the beta I didn't find it. So here goes. Add a Block unwanted forums from View New Content in My Settings so members could block topics from forums they absolutely do not care about. It should be made so that forum selection is easy and which groups can use that feature.

It would be nice if when you used VNC it would remember what filter options you used last time. That way when I choose "Topics I participated in" it sticks the next time I use VNC.

I know this won't change. But I'm wondering if some people are having the same problem... Even after all this time that 3.0 and 3.1 has been out I STILL haven't gotten used to the global search box at the top right. For some reason I keep thinking there is a search box at the bottom of the topic index. Same thing on the tracker index listing. I guess this is because I tend to look at the first page first before doing a search... Not really sure. But I'm constantly having to remind myself where the search box is. Anyone else experience similar problems? Perhaps I'm just too stuck in my ways, more so on certain things than others. Don't get me wrong. I do like where the…

The option to set a forum password is listed under "postable forum settings" in the admin cp, but can't read only forums also be password protected? If so, it would seem strange that an admin would have to go into "postable forum settings" to locate a feature for a forum that isn't postable. Perhaps "basic settings" might be a more appropriate home for that setting... whenever there's more time to tinker with things that don't actually affect software performance, of course.
