I realize that 4.0 is only in RC status right now, and that the full batch of converters is likely planned for after a full release. However, I'm wondering if anybody has an "RC" or "beta" version of a converter I might be able to use to migrate data from an existing phpBB community. I'm working right now on the setup and configuration of things before I move everybody over to the new software. My goal is to get everything setup and configured, take the old site "offline", migrate the users/forums/posts, then bring the whole thing back online using the IPS software. I'm comfortable living in a beta world, and I fully understand what it means as far as possible issues.…

Lets see if I can explain this. Lets say that I'm a member of an user-group that has a 20 seconds flood control to search. If I click Activity Stream, it gets me to all the activity, but if I click Topics before the 20 seconds went by, I'll get the flood control message. I suspect many people will go back to hit Activity Stream, thus they will be back to all the activity instead of Topics. Sure, people can use F5 to refresh the page when they get the flood control message until they are able to search, refreshing to the last click which was Topics. But these less avid users of the internet may find themselves in a loop, "unable" to get to the content stream they want.

I´m Wating for the final release and my questions is when I upgrade my board, would the custom fields still working in IPS4 in Downloads? This is very important or else I have to edit over 7 000 files in IPS4??

I upgraded my forum to 4.0. Can I delete the old files in the file categories that do not exist in 4.0 like cache, hooks, interface, ips_kernel, lofiversion, public?

Is there any kind of log that will show us who rated a answer? For example, on my test board, someone started to rate negatively all the answers. If there are someone that rate negative a good anwser, i need to know who it was to punish him.

HI,, after upgrade to latest RC2: 1.- some general sections have dissapeared, only appears two sections while I have 7 sections. 2.-some subforums counter display zero messages while there are some messages. Please, this is not a RC version, it is a beta version. I do not recommend upgrade to this version, I am very dissapointed, waiting months to see this very buggy version. EDIT: I have seen this message in support forum: 1S111/1 Incorrect table definition; there can be only one auto column and it must be defined as a key

I have been trying to pull info from specific articles as for instance the bellow will pull the data from the first article. It is how the 1x2x2 database template does it for the 1x article. {$data['records'][0]['breaking_news']} Sadly this has now changed and I have managed to recreate the 2x2 bit of the article template but I can not seem to find the correct way to pull the same data in the new version of pages. I know it can be done but I am pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. If anyone can please help it would be appreciated as it is my final stumbling block

In addition to being able to search archived topics mixed with live topics (another topic that was already discussed), I'd like to see the following archive additions: Ability to set rules per forum instead of global. Each forum on my board is not equal and shouldn't be treated as such. Right now, it's either all or nothing so-to-speak for archiving, and I'd like to see more granular controls over this. Add a way to see if a topic is archived or not on the forum view. I'd imagine this would be a fairly easy hook, but we already have icons for closed, answered, pinned, etc. Where is the archived / "old topic" icon or look? Personally, I'd have it a light background / tex…

Need to check with somebody so I don't spam the bug tracker. Upgraded last night, a few odd things: 1. Some attachments I cannot download as an administrator, mostly the ones that do show up as a link: 2. Some attachments that were previously added to posts now are not linked and need to be reinsterted to be clickable: 3. Formatting in some posts is lost: 4. In latest records block, seems my entries are from 1970, and those are certainly not the latest entries: 5. That may be because I obviously posted them on Content before I was born: 6. Hi, I just want to know if I can convert my old IP. Board 3.4.7 forum to 4.0, but a clean upgrade, like a clean install. I mean just topics, posts, categories (sub-categories, etc.) and members to be imported. The settings and so on to be default from 4.0.

I know the "contact information" is just for the user and not public but I can guarantee I will have 100s of emails of freaked out members who will think that everybody can see their email. is there and easy way to either - have a note saying that this information is private for the boxes in the profile that ARE private - have the left sides boxes that are private be a different color making it obvious it is private maybe this was brought in earlier...

Is it possible to do a full upgrade by replacing ALL files from 3.4.7 with 4.0 i.e I don t want to have to hunt for ghosts or files associated with old addons that may linger around in deep folders. Can I upgrade by locking the site down, making a copy of the database and 3.4.7 files, then removing all files but config and uploading 4.0 then running the upgrade? Usually for upgrades I merge the new files on top of the old ones, this time I would like to start fresh for the files Sorry I haven t had time to look at the upgrade mechanism yet
