Many of our users our confused after registering using facebook, twitter or google. They have to manually say they forgot their password in order to create a password for the site. In addition, we use the forum login to authorize people to log into a software of ours which requires the user to have a password. I think there should be an option to allow a user to set a password when siging up with social media

I have a technical forum, so search is used by members to get help for their technical questions. A suggestion came up to sort the search results by most views, with the thought being that the most helpful topic would likely contain the best answer or be most on target to answer the question.

I don't like going to the support tool, to clear the cache. I mean, it seems kind of like an alternative way to do it by going to support tool then having to check some boxes in order to do it. I'd like to see a quick button somewhere in ACP, to do it rather easily.. Could be placed in support tool, just not requiring me to go through questions to do it.

I want to be able to send an email and PM to a customer after they have purchased something. It would be very useful in many ways if we could do this. The current feature (which is labeled as if it does what I'm suggesting) is not very useful at all, an email to myself is useless because I get one from paypal, but an email to the customer is very useful because we can give them more information/help.

Please add the following "Sort By" options: Publish Date Asc / Desc -- I don't believe this overlaps with Start Date, which at least to me, is the day that it was written ... but not necessarily when it was published. Title Asc / Desc -- Because somehow IPS, in its grand wisdom, believes the alphabet starts with Z and ends with A.

I think it would be a great idea to enable notes for an image on a per-album and/or per-group basis. I know a topic not too long ago mentioned something about tagging people in Gallery images, but I had in mind something a little more potentially collaborative. My example: I recently started an album called "Rorschach Inc" which features random, everyday images. Members are invited to post on what they see in the image. Now, for my specific example it would be great if each member could add Notes to point out faces, hands, etc. in a given image, but so far as I can tell only the Administrator can use the Gallery Notes function. Currently, when you view a topic, it polls for new replies every 60s, and every time nothing is found it increases by 20s. However, for instant notifications, it starts polling every 20s, Then after 15 minutes it increases to every 40s, and after 45 minutes it goes up to every 60s. This means that most of the time that you get an instant notification, the only reasonable way to load the new comment is to refresh the page, because the chances are that you will be waiting multiple minutes before being able to display it. It doesn't help that it is not at all obvious to users that the two different systems are completely independent, leading them to think that they are broke…

I seem to remember that in IPB 3.x it was much easier to add multiple files in a single IP.Downloads entry (e.g., three different sections or volumes of a single project or text). I've been reading the forums (or whatever access I have left since I am not renewing license at the moment) and there is one theme that keeps repeating in the responses from IPS management - self hosted licenses are responsible for the bulk of the support load and a lot of the developement load, most bugs are related to self-hosted licenses since IPS has no control how server is setup, etc. You can find this in pretty much every post by @Lindy. At the moment, there is no visual differentiation between staff and regular members in PMs, which means that if you're contacting someone as a staff member, such as to ask them not to do something, then it is not clear to the recipient who you are without them having to actually search for it (such as by hovering over your name). IMO, it should display the group, at least on desktop, either next to the timestamp or next to their username.

We really need the option to have an admin (or anyone designated) notified when an order is placed and the user has selected to pay via a manual option. It's not practical to have to check the orders every day to see if a client has opted to pay via their monthly ACH. - Side note, if anyone knows how to write a custom notification plugin, I'd be willing to throw some money your way in the meantime. I still have to see any useful implementation of the Calendar, but almost any forum has a 'Classifieds' section using standard forums, a solution that leaves a lot to be desired. There once was a payable "Classifieds" addon Users have been literally begging for a 4.x update. And guess what, the authors excuse is he's to busy working for IPS.. 'Classifieds' is so important that it should be officially supported by IPS.

I have rarely luck using it. When I try to tag someone it doesn't allow me to, nothing appears.. I notice it only works when you type the @ then wait a few seconds, is this something that could be done faster? lol

After the licence has expired then "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." is not available in the editor on your site including the Bug Tracker which makes more difficult to submit bug reports. May this be changed?

I have a custom profile sync handler which has to run more frequently than every hour (the default value for the profilesync task). I can adjust the frequency by updating the relevant record in the core_tasks table but that change gets overwritten during an IPS update and is not the recommended approach anyway. A "Set frequency" option on the "Tasks" Admin CP page would solve this problem nicely

I had limited experience actually setting up and configuring a database in IP.Content 3.x, ironic in my position . The few that I did do for myself all seemed a clunky in terms of setting up fields, managing those fields, and updating display templates to display the fields in a meaningful way. As I've gotten back into development for 4.x, I'd been keeping my notes in iCloud Notes (don't laugh at me, it was the best option available at the time that synced from my phone to my mac)... Last week, I upgraded my site (including Commerce) from 3.4.9 to 4.1.x. After the upgrade, numerous customers of mine had either: lost access to their purchased products, been demoted from 'Customers' to 'Members', been placed into the approval queue, or had lost their account entirely. After sending a critical ticket to the support team, it was promptly escalated by @Lindy and a custom script was created by @Ryan Ashbrook which was used to fix the corrupt data. Despite the severity of the issue, there was minimal impact to my site and the issue was successfully resolved last night. I was wondering if it would be possible to have an option for users to select their default home page when logging in? Obviously having the standard one that we select in the admin CP, but users can also select their own from a list of available options (ie, one user may want a page in the Pages app, another may want the Activity Feed) Thanks

It would be very nice if we could enable line numbers for code snippets inserted with the code editor. As we run a forum for programmers where lot of code snippets will be posted having the line numbers would help so that when something is being discussed we can make reference to specific lines of code. Right now you can add more languages but you can't enable line numbers.

When trying to log in with an invalid username the following message is displayed: "The Display Name or Email Address you entered does not belong to any account. Make sure that it is typed correctly." This is a security issue as usernames/email addresses can be enumerated. It also means attackers can lock accounts out. I recommend this message and the invalid password message are the same. ps. i'm surprised your external security audit hasn't picked this obvious one up? it usually comes up as a high/critical on security reports we've had.

Currently in Commerce, when you create an invoice for a member, you pick the Package to be applied to the invoice. It inserts the price of the item, and does not give you the option to edit the price, amount paid, amount to be paid, etc. This is a problem if, for example, someone mailed in a payment at a discounted rate. I still want to give them the full benefit of the appropriate package, but I don't want Commerce to force me to use the standard price that the package is set up with. In this example, we would be creating the invoice and immediately marking it as "Paid" as there is no way to grant access to the Package without first creating the invoice. In Sub…

Lets say you wanted to find all the topics that you have posted in Product Feedback. looks like it should work, but it doesn't - a search term is required. I could achieve the same result using an activity stream, but currently there is no facility to create a stream without saving it (I tend to just edit the default streams without saving, but it would be nice to be able to create a stream properly without saving it).
