I just noticed that the share links are no longer present once we upgrade to 4.x I am heavily dependent on the Image Link URL for integrating my IPGallery images into my IPContent databases. Dealing with reports in their current form is more laborious than it needs to be, as the redirects after taking any action are quite unhelpful. For instance, if you go into a report, and click to hide or edit the post, after taking that action it then redirects you to the hidden post, leaving the report marked as new. Ideally I think it should leave you in the report screen or give an option to mark the report as complete once the action has been taken. Also, it would be useful to have posts which have been reported marked up within threads in some way, perhaps with inline tools to mark the report as in progress or complete. Thanks

The follow system is very powerful, and generally gives users most of the options that they want. However, status update replies don't use that system, and instead have the following logic: If the status was posted by you, you want a notification (no way to opt out) If the status was posted on your profile, you want a notification (no way to opt out) If you have posted a comment on that status, even if it is hidden, you want a notification (no way to opt out aside from deleting the comment) Moreover, the comment notifications don't collapse together to form one notification when multiple people reply to the same status. Hello, After having migrated form 3.4 to 4.1, I have noticed that a feature has disapperead, which is a major regression from my point of view. On the website I manage, we have a strict policy regarding the usernames. The administrators are often required to change the usernames before approval. However, with the new version, users are not notified of the username change. How can they know that their usernames has been renamed? No way... I really would like to have that feature available in a next release.

Hi Ive got a great plugin that allows custom fields per user group ( great for me as I will have business and non business members, only the former allowed a website URL for exmple) but in the About Me page on the board the only filed that shows up is about me. its seems to me that this is a waste of quality space that could look fabulous especially for a business. So is it possible that all the other allowed fields can be added into this ABOUT ME page please? this is the plugin btw its GR8 by @Adriano Faria

I'm not sure if this is a bug or WAI but if you enable Wiki style editing on a Pages database this appears to override the set of groups who can Edit records in the database's permissions. I had assumed, possibly incorrectly, that wiki-style editing allowed anyone in a group with permission to edit a database's records to edit all records irrespective of who owned them, but what is appears to do is to allow anyone in a group with permission to view a database's records to edit them irrespective of who owns them. Hi, I would like to put forward the suggestion of being able to restrict the groups an admin account is able to set on other members? For example hierarchy of Member > Mod > Admin > Leader > Director > Founder. The Leader should not be able to add anyone to Director but should be able to add people to Member, Mod and Admin. Thanks

Are your members like mine? Always confused? Constantly complaining that your site doesn't work they way they expect it to? One of the biggest challenges I have on my site is its user friendliness (or unfriendliness) when it comes to inserting images in posts. We have Gallery and I allow my members unlimited space. Yet, I am constantly explaining the difference between attachments and gallery images. I've created step-by-step tutorials, videos, and I even spend time on the phone with my members helping them to upload an image to their album and then insert it into a post. I would like to share my observation I have been thinking of for some time now. I'd like to be able to adjust the date formatting across the suite, but it appears I can only do so for the Calendar app. At the moment it's using M/D/Y for shorthand and I'd like to be able to use D/M/Y instead. Is it possible or is it something that needs to be added to the software? Seems like an oversight if it's not something that can be changed.

Hi guys I'm planning on renewing my license to upgrade to the latest IPB version. As the theme-upgrade doesn't really work that great I have to fiddle with 50 different settings by hand (for every version upgrade which needs a theme-upgrade) and I'd really love to minimize the overhead here. That's the reason for my question: Is there a release date planned for the next update 4.1.18? Will it be between christimas and new year or in the next year? Additionally to that: Is IPB in some kind of x-mas vacation during the christmas time? 1. I'm beginning to use Pages extensively, and the images attached and used in Pages records are intermixed with the images attached to forum posts/replies. At the very minimum, those images should be segregated under a "separate tab" like those for Gallery images.or File downloads. Suggest that images attached to each app be segregated on a "tab" like the Gallery or Downloads, perhaps with an "All" view that would consolidate them for users that don't have that many attached images. This has bothered me for some time but is it possible for IPS to give us editing powers over topics we create? While I don't often create topics that are highly resourced, I did create one that has proven to be highly resourced by members of this community. When I was asked to update the topic, I couldn't, because only the forum staff are allowed to update topics or posts). It kind of makes it frustrating if we have to create a new topic each time we need to update something. The guide I created is "Stop the Spam: The Guide to Stopping Spammers". It would be easier if we could update our posts/topics without having to ask IPS staff to edit them.

I heavily used the custom RSS export feeds on 3.4.7 to syndicate to Facebook only the groups I wanted. This feature has since gone with the IPS4 upgrade.

I upgraded from 4.1.13.2 to 4.1.14 and now my board has been reindexing topics and posts for more than 24 hours. This has happened on one of the previous minor version upgrades as well. Why is reindexing needed so often? It's an issue for large boards. Will reindexing be needed for each upgrade in the future?

Hi there, Forum in response to the content not found returns an HTTP 404 (Not found). My specialist SEO would like to reply to the content that were removed were using codes HTTO 410 (Gone). Such a response makes the search engine (Google) quickly remove the content from its index. Such a thing in the case of the Forum may be something indicated. The way I understand it, when one follows a forum, topic, etc. one can set how these notifications are sent (PM or email, daily, weekly, etc). All well and good, but this seems to apply universally to all followed content, and it occurred to me that for certain forums or topics (e.g., Sales Questions, Site Help/Questions) one might want to be notified in a different (quicker) manner. So what if one could set one of two or three different notification levels so that for example, I could be emailed immediately if someone posted in Help forums or Sales Questions, but received a weekly digest for other lower priority follows?

Happy new year, I think the article page design can add little thing more to improve reader experience. e.g. The article main page look very nice, because we have some template design by @TAMAN and @opentype..but how about after click the article and end read? Will be nice if a reader after end read an article, do not take click to back the main page to see what other others articles are interesting to read. Or when click to GO TO ARTICLE, can show the main page, because right now take me back to article categories view, not nice like the main page view.

The most recent official release fixed on "custom sort" bug that I found, but apparently there is another that has raised it's head. I have a custom field set to check whether a pipe manufacturer does custom pipes or not. It works just fine on entry point of the data and on display of the data/fields But, when I do a custom sort by, I have this box As you can see, the custom field is present, but it IS NOT de-selectable. You can try to slide the slider to the left but it will not de-activate it. Makes the custom sort pretty much useless in this case as it will ONLY show the ones that make custom pipes... and I wanted a descending sort order…
