Last year following lots of Downloads App bugs and problems configuring servers for larger 250mb+ files, it was concluded by the staff here that there needed to be some re-coding/re-write so that Downloads worked more efficiently from the server pov when processing uploads/downloads. Atm large amounts of server memory (1GB for 200mb and this rises considerably over this) are needed for larger files and also some quite tricky configuration. Has this been addressed since then or is it still on the to-do list?

Can you please consider adding in a focus to the Title that I can then tab into Post? In particular on a laptop it's a pain to create a new topic, then click in one filed, then click into the next, I should be able to easily navigate by keyboard.

I miss them. On the original...gulp...Ikonboard...when creating a Topic you typed in a title and could type in a subtitle and then the Post itself. Those subtitles were handy in introducing the Topic and prompted what the Post was about, above and beyond the short title. Unless I am missing something in admin area, this is not an option with IPS 4....?

Ok this is a bit irksome I have a several custom profile fields that is a Select Box ( and a check box) and it contains things like the current software version you are using platform etc and every year there is an update i add a NEW item to the option for that latest version and move it to the top. I just discovered this bit of text that has escaped me.... Once defined the ordering of these values cannot be altered without affecting existing values. Right now if you add an event to the calendar you have the option of selecting full date event. This automatically removes the hour selection and you can select the event from, lets say 1st of july to 5th of july. To both dates automatically 00:00 is attached as hour. This essentially means that the event ends on day 4th of july, because 5th of july 00:00 ends exactly when the day starts. This is confusing, because when users add end date as 05th of july they expect that the event is ongoing on 5th. You should make it that 00:00 is appended on the first day and 23:59 on the last one.

Would it be possible to get a bit more info on the initial coupon page - at the moment it just lists the coupon code and leaving blank space. Would it be possible to include what products the coupon is for and if its been used/ how many remaining etc. You cant see any of this unless you go into the products and if you end up having a few of them it could become difficult to see.

If you have anonymous logins turned off, any chance of removing the anonymous count from the who's online block? Just seems kinda pointless. Even if you did use anonymous logins isn't the point to stay anonymous, not sure why you would want to count them

Following on from this and ticket no. 755222 ( Thanks for trying, Brandon! And Jason! And Ryan!) It is not currently possible to use the media player provided with IPB, to embed an mp3 attachment in a post. An mp3 sitting on the file system - I can embed fine. A Youtube video of a bouncing kitten - I can embed fine. An mp3 sitting on a server in Tehran - I can embed fine. An mp3 attachment on my own site, which a user uploaded five minutes ago - everyone has to download and play in desktop software. It should be possible to embed mp3 attachments in a post so users can listen to them with the media player. Thank you.

We do not approve every validation on our site. But we get a lot of registrations. I would like to be able to select multiple members for deletion or approval. It seems this was much easier on 3.4. Also, please give us more control over members in Validation status. I do not want members not yet approved to have the same permissions as "newbies". It would also be nice if I could bulk mail validating members.

I am shocked that Nexus/commerce does not use scaled down thumbnails, isnt this a normal feature of all Gallery and Commerce products? I was testing my site with thinkwithgoogle.com and noticed I was getting very low scores for my main index page which is using Nexus, when I removed the 'popular' 'new' and 'featured' thumbnails my score jumped back up to normal, then I realised that the thumbnails are actually the original full sized images... contacted support and apparently this is working as intended... In this day of age where mobile and fast loading pages are a must, Im surprised thumbnail creation is not available.

Hi - I pride myself on my ability to see the ipboard through the eyes of a casual user, and using my oft-cited mantra, 'Don't Make Me Think,' I find that the 4.0 Messenger is making me search and think and now scream bloody murder. I wanted to send a new PM. I got a pop up that my message box is full and that I need to empty some of the messages. I have searched everywhere for a simple, universally understandable word like 'delete' and cannot find one. Unless one of you is willing to step into a transporter and appear next to me at my desk, how am I, the casual user, supposed to instantly grasp how to delete a message? Does 'leave a conversation' equal delete a message…

One thing that really irks me with the way the messenger works in 3.2 is how I now have to scroll through all of replies of a message to get to the first unread reply. Today for example I've got several conversations running over several pages. Every time I get the new pm notification, I click on the pm and I get taken to the first post. Surely it would be much more useful to go to the first unread? Either that or I would suggest a "Go to first unread" link be added to the drop down. Since storage is most likely limited for most users, deleting personal messages is an extremely common action. It should be easy to delete personal messages, one by one or as a batch. Right now, "Delete" has to be accessed from a drop-down menu at the top of a personal message thread. It should take one click at the top and bottom of the thread (and confirm, of course).

I noticed that bugs get removed from 4.2 bug tracker eventhough they haven't been resolved (bug is still present on this website). I assume this is to keep the bug list shorter but doesn't this cause confussion and more duplicate bug reports since you can't see someone else has already reported the same thing?

So I made a ticket on June 8 (#982772), because I needed to re-activate Pages on my license in order to buy it again. Got a response same day, about removing Downloads off my license first. All is fine, yes I wanted that removed, no reply since... So I'm just wondering, since it seems like a fairly simple task, will I get to buy it any time soon? So I've been running 3.4 -> 4.1 upgrades multiple times over the last 5 days on my test board. What I'm wondering is if anything can be moved from the initial upgrade process into the cleanup tasks that run after upgrade. There is just a painful amount of downtime involved. The one that I am focusing on is the converting of tags and then cleanup of tags. This is taking hours for my server to complete. It seems to be only processing 175 tags about every 15 seconds. Anything that can be booted out of the initial upgrade process and moved to post-upgrade cleanup tasks probably should be. I started this upgrade test at 11:40am eastern and it is 4…
