I noticed on Safari Browser on iPad or iPhone you still can't add a new Advertisement. When you click to upload an image, nothing happens except the page jogs down. No access to photo library etc. If memory serves me it will work in Firefox browser. But I don't like switching between the two because it gums up sign-in for a variety of websites etc. I would have thought this would have been fixed with all the new Updates. In this day and age many Board owners/Admins and Moderators work on tablets a good amount of the time, especially when on the road, in my case an iPad. Just sayin....

Regular member groups shouldn't be overloaded and not every incident can trigger a group promotion or demotion event. There are a lot situations, in which the regular "member group" dimensions don't offer enough space or functionality for advanced actions. Sometimes there is a quick temporary requirement, other times the creation effort would be too high (too many steps, too many insecurities, too many alterations) to maintain such special regular groups. I'm just thinking about a higher comprehensive concept, where admins can define virtual member groups, that can be used like every regular member group in the ACP member permissions settings in ALL applications and …

I would like to set up separate limits for each type of reaction in order to limit haters activity, who constantly uses only negative reactions. Have you thought about any improvements on this?

From my site. (IPB 4.2.2) I noticed that rather than inform me that I've reached my daily limit, the reaction actually registers(giving me the option to remove it), but then subsequently disappears upon refreshing the page. This could lead to a good amount of frustration and confusion.

We use a few custom media tags, the most important of which is the ability to display Adobe PDFs inside a post.

The general rule of thumb for non-realtime tasks (biggest example being, sending emails) these days is to drop the task onto a queue, to be picked up by a "queue-runner" and processed, as to give the end user the fastest browsing experience. As an example, see Laravel's Queue system, where the main example is sending emails. I've been dealing with a growing issue that's become really noticeable over the last 6-9 months, where posting replies to topics can be very slow. It appears the culprit is email notifications being sent to users subscribed to those topics. There's no simple way for me to solve this problem, outside of running my own email server, which…

Today I ran across a very annoying issue with the PM box. I've got a imposed limit on my PM box to keep it from being a cluttered mess. I'm now reaching upwards of 80% figured it was time to delete a few older message. Then I find out there is no check boxes on the older message only on the newest messages. Ok. So I figure I would just open each older message and delete. That even worse even one that you do delete the screen refreshes and now you have to work your way all the way back to the bottom of the list and wait or the scroll box to catch up each time. There needs to be a way to reverse the age of the list so you can delete the oldest first. Better yet …

Perhaps it is a good idea for any forum using the IPS platform to have this opportunity. It is easy to help a colleague in need. This will ensure the identity of the logged user ...

It would be nice, if the IPB Team could integrate the commerce application to the search feature , What does other customer think about it? Best Regards ,

No idea if this is an issue with 4.2.6 beta or not but spotted a few weird things recently with dates, sometimes in search results but the latest is in the leaderboard: Will post them up as I spot them again.

Hi all, We have just made an upgrade to 4.2 and the order of the posts have changed from reverse-chrono to chrono and now we see the oldest comments on Page #1 and the most recent comments on the last Page. Is there a way to change it when the users clicks on any topics it would automatically direct the user to the last page of the topic (i.e. to the most recent comments) and not the first one? If that is not possible, is there a way to change the post ordering from reverse-chrono to chrono? Thanks in advance, Ody

Hi there @Lindy asked me to follow up with more detail on search feedback so thought I'd do it on the forums here. I just have just three suggestions. 1. Relevancy of results Search needs to be more forgiving and suggest alternate terms or corrected terms if a typo is made. I think visitors can be turned off if they have no results returned but might be better encouraged if it suggests an alternate term. e.g. something like this: Also it needs a stemming analyzer (something Elasticsearch has) to match variations of words. e.g. test vs tested vs testing. All these return vastly different results on IPS whereas IMO they should return si…

This addition is really great to track active sessions that shouldn't be. But sometimes a device (like a phone) can have a lot of locations and the page become really long. Are you considering hide some of them (and maybe add a "show more" when it's the case)? Example:

Any chance this is going to get done. I am a broken record, but this was discussed over a year ago as something that would return in a later update. Two things desired here. 1. A block that calls a single random image from a designated gallery or album, then leaves the image displayed for a period of time, say 20 seconds, then changes the picture to another random from the designated area. 2. A block that calls a set number of RANDOM pictures from a designated gallery or albums and displays them on page. Just a RANDOM filter vice our current selection of sorted filters.

When a member of a social network sign in to the ips suite, its profile photo from that social network is uploaded as a profile photo and in the ips suite. That's fine, but for this member. What is the effect on your suite? As soon as 4.0 was released I saw a new car moving very fast on the highway. Now 4.2 x is even capable of flying But, profile photos from other social networks, if I use the allegory from above, are like a blocked brake for your car. When your site has several members with such profile photos online, speed your site loading sharply drops - as if the gallop racing has become a turtle ... What to do - I think when a member is sign…

Currently we can create via ACP new buttons for editor only with one option, which always set as textfield (ACP > Editor > Add Button > Custom). I suggest to make some little, but very useful improvements for this tool: Ability to add any number of options. Ability to choose type of option field (now it's always textfield). It would be great to be able to choose between text, radiobuttons & checkboxes with predefined values, colorpicker, datepicker, coordinates, address, etc. It's very easy to implement but it will greatly increase the usefulness of this part of editor settings. Please let me know if you need more detail on this.

Take the section headers in the forums listing. That's #EBEDF0 for the background, #828E99 for the font. That's a fail. Are there design decisions here? I've been taking flak from members for low contrast text, and it looks like they've got a point. This is a really interesting tool. Try the contrast tab...

I can't begin to say how much I love this program. With very little coding experience a little photoshop can make my site look amazing. Still, have a lot of work ahead of me but I now know that I picked the right host. That's all just wanted to shout that out for other people considering investing.

Ok, I'd like to comment a few ideas about search. I don't know if this is where to post this, but I got an email asking to develop my answer in the survey a I filled in a few weeks ago. This is my contribution and my ideas about search and how they could be used. Not sure if someone suggested this before, sorry if I'm repeating. I would like to have a block integrated the system. A block that is just a search tool, like the blocks about users, polls, feeds etc. I would like the results to be listed with a list directly on screen without leaving the page. I would also like to have the results displayed by topic title only, so users could see a compact lis…

I think it would be a good idea, to provide an IP of the invisionpower services, to give access to those servers that we have firewall, and filter by IP. In my case I have to disable the firewall so IPS support can access. For example, CPanel support provides their IP or a root´s SSH Key.

Hello ! I put a block for my clubs on my board's index page (just under the gallery block). This is what it looks like : I chose to have only 3 clubs in it so that it's not too big. I think it would be a good idea to make the clubs' block look better and more attractive, somehow like the featured clubs : perhaps with the logo and image only, so that it would look more attractive. First, I chose to put this block on the right side, but it won't be noticed there, because there are other important blocks (New topics, New posts) and there is only text while people want to see images... (I believe) In order to attract more people to club…
