Hello ! ? One of my board's member made a mistake and posted a long description for his club (instead of a topic). Is there a way, a setting, to prevent this ? This is what it looks like : The last club forum has a very long description and it doesn't look good. Is there is setting for this ? Thank you. ?

Hello, We've got a lot of members using daily notification emails at the forum level to keep up to date with various sub-forums. Since we're migrating over from Yahoo Groups, one of the most repeated requests I get is to have all the new messages in a forum appear in the email--that is, not just the initial message in a new topic with an indicator of how many replies exist, but all the messages. Yahoo Groups does this now with its email digests, with a hot-linked table of contents at the top listing every message in the digest and allowing the user to navigate the the message(s) they want to see just by clicking on the message subject in the list. Is t…

I know it's possible to create extra streams, but it would also be pretty awesome if you could configure the default stream at /discover/ at the site and user level. For instance, as an admin I might want to exclude a "Forum Games" forum from the primary activity stream, so that my members can still view and use it---but it doesn't flood the /discover/ page and flush out more important topics. And as a member, I might have permissions to view a particular club and the topics active within (hence them appearing on my /discover/ list) but I may not be interested in the club or the activity within. Being able to exclude those items from my /discover/ feed would be …

I do want all my forum members to be able to post in some clubs without needing invites. Public won't work, because public clubs can't have moderators and I need those. Open club is perfect on paper - you can have mods, users can participate, they only need to join first. But while this is clear to the admins, this is hardly clear to the users. They will simply see topics they can't reply to, they will say nice things about me in their head (or maybe even out loud) and move on. As far as I can see there is nowhere a message "You need to be a member to post here, join right now" or something similar. My suggestion is to put this message to the bottom of the Open clu…

Hey Folks. Not sure when core will support Youtube and Vimeo in Galleries? So in the meantime I've added rudimentary, but working support, for both. A few cosmetics to tidy up, but it works great and requires very little effort to achieve. Works in Club galleries too. Let me know what you think. Is this worth developing further? Is core going to support YouTube galleries anytime soon? etc.

I would like to suggest two aesthetic improvements to the Commerce checkout page. 1. The first one is when a card is already saved to a member's account. Currently, when a customer hits the checkout page this is what they see: In my opinion, it would be better if a) the saved card was ticked by default and b) the form to input the card details is hidden until the customer selects "Use new card". Then the form should appear. Like this: I think this would be better because, a) the customer should be encouraged to use the saved card (you see this on sites like amazon, where they assume you want to use your saved card) and more importantly…

I've been browsing Downloads, and looking at the Applications and Plugins categories (of which there are many), it occurred to me: why not use the same interface for Fluid forums to pick and choose which Downloads categories one views at a given time? For instance, if I want to view only Member and Staff Extensions, or everything except Developer Resources and Commerce, it seems as if the same interface which allows one to pick forums in Fluid view could be used to quickly and gracefully configure one's Marketplace views.

Mine would be for you guys to run through the workflow for moderation, including setting up warn levels and points in ACP, setting up site vs subforum mods, and then running through a few scenarios like coming across a bad post and hiding it and warning a member in respect of that post, responding to reports with warnings for the offside party, etc. I feel like I’ve become used to using the mod tools a certain way and I’d love a video guide to see if maybe I’m missing some obvious stuff. Really enjoyed the last video!

It would be nice if our site members would be able to toggle the visibility off/on of the whole line, that shows the breadcrumb, "unread content" and "mark site read" (below the header / navigation menu as well as above the footer). I'd personally like to disable it for all members by default, because design optimization (a much cleaner look) it would save a lot of space less text = less distraction Members that like to use it could simply toggle the visibility to on again for themselves.

IPS deserves to be blasted for how they go about their communication (or total lack thereof) on major changes when it's related to third-party community enhancements, logins, etc. You really need to send out a special "IPS Alert" on these breaking changes. I just discovered that my Twitter login was broken ever since upgrading to 4.3. Did I ever receive an IPS notice about it? Hell no. You also updated your Twitter login instructions for 4.3 and above. Did I ever receive an IPS notice about it? Hell no. At the end of the day, Invision Community is my gateway to all integrated services and I hold you to that standard. If there's a change that com…

A valued community member, let's call her Jane Doe, last night had the blatant, barefaced audacity to ask me to rename her popular topic, so I tried whilst using my iPad, after all it was my only device to hand at the time. TL;DR - Okay, I geddit. Your time is valuable. So I'll get to the point. Please add a 'rename topic' option to the existing Moderator Actions button, for mobile moderation. Huh? What's that? Oh, so you want me to continue the story, after all? Ok, I got this! I PM little Miss Cheeky Jane Doe back to tell her, no problem, it will be done in two shakes of a Matt Mecham's tail. Or quicker than the average loading time of an IPS com…

I have noticed that on the standard installation in 4.3.3. the Newsletter block is enabled by default and placed on the right of the activity streams: Makes it strange to have it enabled when most communities don't have a Newsletter. I would argue that the placement next to the activity streams is not ideal either ? Initially the block is not visible by site admin, so most of you are probably not aware it is there ?

3 hours ago Hi Invisionzone is GREAT! That cannot be disputed. I thought I would share something with you... I am sure you are aware of the explosion of online course selling. This is good and bad. Good when it is done well - bad (actually very bad) when people teach things they themselves do not know. This is all too common and the industry is going to be the same as YouTube where we have maybe 1 good video to about 10,000 pure rubbish. (mostly about cats and cucumbers - sorry if your a cat person - no offence meant) ? (I like cats) There is an underlying trend to this course creation explosion that few have spotted and this trend it is go…

hi, our moderators desperately would like to search for users by their email-adress in moderatorCP. we wish that since version 3, but now as we finally upgraded to 4, nothing changed (we hoped so). we think about do that at ourself as a plugin or similar. or we will have to give all moderators a login for the adminCP. but of course wqe woul like most, if that would be implemented in IPB. i assume it is not possible due to privacy issues, i do understand that, and it would be great, if that'll be an option which could be switched on/off. thanks, ulf

In Elasticsearch, its possible to set the number of Shards the index will use when creating the Index. IPS is using the default 5 shards, which is not optimal for everybody(probably for most of the clients). For example in my case i only use 1 node(localhost) and my Index is way below 50Gb, so my optimal shard count is only 1. 5 shards in my case is slowing down elasticsearch. Its possible in the Elasticsearch options to have a field to choose the number of shards? Basically depending on the value we choose it would add something like this: "settings" : { "number_of_shards": 2 }

I've seen a huge increase in completed profiles since the launch of that feature, however not so much an increase of actual new user participation. Whilst it's great to see more new users taking the time to complete their profiles, this yields little long-term benefit if they don't actually contribute. I'd like to see the ability to prompt contributions included as part of the 'complete your profile' feature. It could include such options as: Make a post Perhaps allow admins to configure a forum for this to go in, such as an introductions area Start a blog Upload an image Comment on something Purchase something Upload a…

When working on a laptop (as opposed to my nice big letterbox desktop monitor), I can't count how many times I wished that Permissions options, e.g. "See Category," "View Records," "Add Records," etc. were listed along the bottom of the window as well as the top so that I didn't have to keep scrolling up to the top of the window to see which option I was changing, since I have several groups. Am I naive in thinking this would be only another line of code or something? Can we make it so, Number One? Or am I just talking Number Two?

In context of the Gamification blog post (link), here are suggestions that I'd like to make on the Leaderboard: Notify users that they won 1st / 2nd / 3rd -- Right now, users have no idea that they won besides visiting their own profile. It's way too passive. Show relative rank -- It would be incredibly powerful to replace the 4th position winner with the user in the Leaderboard, and show his relative rank. If people are winning 200 reactions for the week, and you're at 150 reactions, you at least understand where you are relative to others. There are only 3 people who can win every day, so the vast majority of users are NOT winners. Thus, it would be mo…

Should be designed thinking the user reading habit use. I try clicking the Pages section that is what I want to read, but reloading the same page that's make me asked, "nothing, click again, nothing, click again " because the content what I want to read placed bottom... Should be appear on the screen the section called, and the menu should be placed below of the content, because after end of read the user may want to click on other section... In mobile version was my experience, but I think the desktop experience will be same.

I currently have 969 pages of language strings, so when I want to single out a certain app whose strings I want to edit I obviously want to be able to get right to it and view its language. So I think that something like an "view Apps/Plugins only" filter would be good - or better yet, when one clicks the settings wheel in the Search field, being able to type the app/plugin and have it dynamically appear (like the way once chooses users) would save a lot of time in bringing up all the strings for a single app/plugin. Actually, in trying to get to a specific app, I'm on page ~100. The descending listing (Z...A) I have configured seems to jump from "Points Econom…

I did a test upgrade from 3.4.7 to 4.0.1. There were few minor issues here and there but overall all looks good. The most major concern so far I have after the upgrade is the double lining/spacing on articles/posts etc. Many posts and articles, where an extra empty line or 2 was put intentionally to better separate paragraphs in 3.4.7, look with way too much extra space after the upgrade to 4.0.1. As I understand it this is because of the difference of the editors and how they handle paragraphs, new lines etc etc. This is a big concern for me. Obviously, I can not go and check one by one many thousands of posts, articles etc. and fix them manually. And they definitely do …

Hi! Here is a feature suggestion concerning the form fields. It would be awesome to have a special design for specific fields, like Bootstrap does: https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.1/components/input-group/ Email, URL, Tel… and even add a button for URL fields. Some great things could be done! Thanks!
