I have just converted an old vBulletin v4.2.3 forum to IPS, but my BBcode is now shown as code instead of showing it as styled text. I have search to forums and only found one other post with the save problem, which was in a 1.3.x version of IPS. https://invisionpower.com/forums/topic/434650-bbcode-shown-as-code/#comment-2668995. Sadly the tools mentioned here is for v1.3.x. Are there any tools like this for v1.4.x? The BBcode works fine if I choose to edit the post or create a new one. Thanks in advance.

I need some help here guys with enabling SSL. I've installed and SSL certificate on the server (host has confirmed it is working), I've turned on all SSL options in the ACP, and cleared the caches, but the site is still showing in chrome & Firefox as unsecured. What am I missing? The site is www.smartphonegurus.com Any help appreciated.

Despite what can be read on the Creating Advertisements Guide simply adding the ad tag only results in the tag being displayed as text instead of the ad showing. Is the guide misleading? Is there a way to enter the tag that works or do I have to go template diving? I tried creating a custom block but I get the same thing. (yes I am using the correct "KEY") {advertisement="KEY"}

Hi, given that IPB4 is focused on 100% responsive design (very excited about this, long time coming for my community) .. I need to ensure all of my advertisers' banners are displayed correctly. In the past, when I wasn't focused on responsive design (yes I'm a slow adapter, I know) ... I simply created a table at the top header .. putting the logo on one side, and the horizontal banner next to it. But now with responsive, how do you create a responsive horizontal banner next to your logo at the top .. so it doesnt interfere with the userlinks bar in the upper right corner? Has anyone been able to accomplish this? thanks!

Just upgraded test board to 4.18.2 After a struggle i have got it working but when clicking log in i get following error The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server. i've moved storage location to another place in the server. it looks like the file were moved (with 777 permission for some reason) but when I access the site - it just call the regular path <domain>/uploads/..... and that returns 404. What else should I do ? Thanks

I got an email from google a couiple of days ago: Nonsecure Collection of Passwords will trigger warnings in Chrome Beginning in January 2017, Chrome (version 56 and later) will mark pages that collect passwords or credit card details as “Not Secure” unless the pages are served over HTTPS. The new warning is the first stage of a long-term plan to mark all pages served over the non-encrypted HTTP protocol as “Not Secure”. Here’s how to fix this problem: USE HTTPS. So, does Invision power recommend that we all use https now?

Greetings, A week ago I changed my template and replaced the Up green arrow by the "like" button because I think it gives a more professional image to the forums. However, a few regulars have complaint that the "like" button is not big enough, not visible. Does someone know if I can make it bigger, and how to do it? Is there any magic CSS code that I can use ? or it's more complicated than that. Help Appreciated

Hey there, I re-launched a community that was used to using vBulletin. Obviously we did it with IPB and I am super thankful to have done so. However, my user base are complaining en masse that they do not have similar reputation features like "Rep Power" (the higher your reputation rank is, each time you upvote or down vote someone's reputation, instead of just doing a -1 or +1, it does -10 or +10 depending on their rank) and "Rep Comments" where people can comment on a post after giving their rep so the user receiving rep can respond to criticism appropriately. I suspect that we have to create our own custom plug-in in order to gain this functionality, unless …

I have several installations that use the commerce package to sell memberships for their organizations. The memberships expire on December 31. Is there any way to set an expiration date for all memberships purchased before a given date? Say a membership is purchased before December 1, the expiration date is December 31. Purchased after December 1, it will expire December 31 of the following year.

I wanted to add in a thing to make every user see quotes of themselves in a different color so it was more immediately noticeable. The obvious way to do this was to add a customized CSS rule to every user's CSS that would be processed by the templating engine. However, it doesn't seem that the available shortcuts can be inserted into a template by their actual variable, just as part of the HTML logic if-else or foreach or whatever. Trying to insert {member.member_id} resulted in that literal text being inserted, and trying {$member.member_id} gave an error. Hi Guys - I'm going to convert my vB4 site to IPS4. I have vBSEO installed, so I don't think the conversion tools will help with my URL issues. Question: Is it possible to manually redirect some URLs or setup something where a user tries to access a URL from my old vB site and he is redirected to the new URL? I don't need a 1 million posts redirected. I'd just like to have about 100 links directed to the new page.

In version 3 we had a way to do a SQL backup using the ACP only. I'm on the IPS cloud hosting so I don;t have access to phpMyAdmin to do a real backup. The reason I need this (on a regular basis) is that I like to bring a copy of my data home on my testing/development env. I can't seem to find an SQL Backup feature in V4. Is it not there? Hi Guys - I'm having issues with my site that are related to what I believe is called a screen reflow issue. As you can see in the video, the body of the page loads at one size, then adjusts to a larger size. This is really annoying. I believe the problem is caused by this: I have advertising blocks that are only displayed to certain groups of users. When these users log in, the resizing issue doesn't happen because the body is at the correct size to show the blocks on the right side. However, when a different user group member logs in, he isn't shown the blocks because he's not in the specific group, but the body of the page loads in the size of the gro…
