Hello I have a question about a Forum that is set for Questions. Right now if someone has "voted" for a question, it appears at the top of the list. Will that always be there? And is there a way to have it so that it is not always pinned up there? (I don't seem to be able to find such a setting). Thank you

Hello. I've seen if I create a new database for a new Invision installation, it will be in the utf8mb4_unicode_ci characterset. However when looking in phpmyadmin the database default characterset at the bottom is still at latin1_swedish_ci and I don't know if that is a good thing, I don't want to get a mixed up database later on. This is an example: Do I need to change this latin1 to utf8mb4 and if yes, how can I do this?

I'm trying to figure out what is causing posting to be slow on my forum. Right now some posts go through fine, and some take a few seconds to several minutes to complete. No data is ever lost, but since some of the actions can take upward of six minutes, it's become something of an issue. Here is the background: Recently moved to a new server. Does not appear to be a load issue since CPU rarely gets above 30%, bandwidth rarely gets above 1Mbps, and disk (SSD) is negligible. It's a dedicated server, not shared with any other site. Hi guys, Wondering if any of you very helpful people would be able to help me with this. The payment method used below is stripe, but I guess these emails are generic for other payment The problem is that when someone is sent a renewal invoice and payment has gone through, and when someone is sent a renewal invoice that failed because payment couldn't be made the same email subject is used, with the word "RENEW:" at the beginning, if someone doesn't open the email, at first glance it just looks like their renewal has happened, they are unaware it has failed. How can I change the email subject for emails where payment for renewal fails? This happens more often …

Hey everyone, Just wondering the best way to get in and change my password as I've been locked out due to an apparent password change. I'm not really sure how this happened but I'm guessing some kind of hack? I am currently logged in to my forum I just can't get into the Admin CP. I haven't had to deal with this in a long long time. Should I be going into my db and updating my password in there? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Is it possible to change the order of the fields that are filled out during registration? For example, if I wanted to put email address above display name? Or if I added a custom field and wanted to put it first rather than last? Thanks.

Good day folks, I would like to delete an entire range of pages within a topic. We have non forum related content such as a "Free For All" that gets rather long and takes up server space, which is at a premium for us right. So in order to free up server space, I am deleting the huge ongoing topics, but only the pages in between the first and last, in order to leave some context to the topic started. Hello. I am just wondering whether or not I would be subject to paying a fee to change my license URL this Tuesday from a subdomain from my host to an actual domain name. In a ticket, I had open recently regarding an issue activating my license on 3.1.4 before making a clean install to 3.4.7 (my preference to use 3.4.x), @Mark H changed my license URL for me as it was set to an old domain name, does this reflect my one time free URL change?

I upgraded to 4.4.0 recently, and added the downloads addon, no i am unable to log in. I get no error, the page just refreshes and nothing, I think it is logging me in, but i get none of the options that i have, it still asks me to login or sign up. Is there a way of fixing this?

Hey guys, I upgraded our forum a while back from 3.4.5 to 4.3.5. Everything seemed fine for the most part, but any time a profile gets edited by someone that isn't just a regular member they get the following error: "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/index.php on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." From what I can tell there isn't a permission difference between the member groups that should cause it, and we've got a barebones version of 4.3.5 set up as a test installation that things seem to work fine on, so I'm sort of at a loss as to what the is…

I set up an RSS feed that pulls articles from an external RSS feed into a forum. This is all working great but it pulls in the full text and I only want to show an excerpt summary like the first 100 words. I checked the settings but can't find anything where I can change that. Any suggestions or ideas? I am looking for something similar what you can do in Wordpress:

We're experiencing an issue where, after upgrading from 4.3 to 4.4, clicking on a topic always takes you to the first page of the topic, regardless of whether you click on a page number, or on the new posts icon. This happens with a brand new, fresh theme, so it doesn't appear to be the result of any theme customizations. Anyone seen this behavior before or have any ideas what it might be? I tried replacing all the files in /system and /applications with freshly downloaded versions, no luck.

How should these be set up in search engine optimization > add meta tags I've noticed for years I've had them all under my Page Address and then * in the box, meaning they are showing on ALL pages. I was thinking I did that wrong. Should it be a / in the box so it just appears on the home page? I've noticed with the *, all the description and keywords stay the same, no matter what topic you are in. When I changed to / the description updates to the topic when inside a topic, but, keywords are nowhere to be seen apart from on the home page. If under the * (ALL PAGES) setting the keywords appear in topics too.

Patreon is good, but not awesome: amongst its many limitations, the worst one is that new patrons can basically download all your stuff since the very moment they join. It'd be awesome if each new member could get some free points every week (or month) and use them to download some items, but not all. Hello! My vBulletin forum was at site.com/forum and now I am migrating. I now install IPS at site.com/forum and converting old vBulletin to IPS. At this stage all OK and there are redirects out of the box. After few months, when search engines will index all forum I want to move IPS to site.com/ and install Pages app and make it default to show forum content at front page site.com/. But I find out now that if I make Pages default app - forum link becomes /forums which is already different URL. The question is - can I somehow change that default link from /forums to /forum? Hello At the moment of updating the Invision 4.4.0 forum, the guest permissions do not work so I have it so that the guest can not comment and create a post. But you can still perform these functions although I have the opposite I do not know if someone can help me thanks.
