Hi Guys, The upgrade to 8.0 is almost done. The site loads and runs fine. BUT I can't do anything in the admincp, I get fatal errors. The issue is the cached plugin file "template_0_77e511f3f597b974567a95c3a1860bbf_plugins.php" - it is throwing an exception; "PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Unparenthesized `a ? b : c ? d : e` is not supported" I thought I disabled all the non 8.0 supporting plugins and apps, but I guess not. I went through the DB to disable all the plugins. I left the applications because the update to 4.7.2 that I only did this morning already disabled all non 8.0 applications. I then deleted the contents of the cache tables …

To IPB Staff (IPB staff only please) I know this is likely counterintuitive to those who runs forums for profit. But it is somewhat important from a privacy point of view. Is there an option to disable the tracking of statistical data (reactions, searches, etc) like you can do with emails? For the better part of 20 years that we've run on IPB, one thing we've prided ourselves on is absolutely no tracking. No Google, invited members only, no social media tracking/usage, etc. While again, I understand the reasoning some/most forum admins will find it advantageous, I'd prefer to fall on the side of respect for people's privacy. Since a few days (we think since we updated to version 4.7.1) all images are no longer visible in post (also old posts) of our ClubDesk Forum (https://forum.clubdesk.com/). Hi, I don't have a specific error right now, but I have noticed that I have errors in the Admin CP if I am using my VPN (Proton VPN). I'll get blank pages. The first time it happened it stopped in the middle of an upgrade and I couldn't get back in to restart it. If I disconnect from the VPN, then things start working again. So is there an official stance on VPN use? I haven't had any issues on the front end, so I'm hoping our users don't have problems (I haven't received any complaints). Does this happen with all VPNs? If I am on a shared wifi (say, if I'm traveling), I want to connect through the VPN for security reasons. Is this something that can be resolved…

Hi, We found a potential bug. See the step by step below, see if you can reproduce this incorrect behavior in your install: 1. Add a word in the word filters that will hold a post for manual approval. 2. In an existing topic (not a new one, this is important), add a new post containing the word you configured in (1). 3. The post will be held for manual approval. Go to the forums list, and you will see that instead of the topic/post hold counter showing 0/1, it will show 0/2. Team, I have a storage method defined for AWS that has a custom URL (cdn.mydomain.com). All of the storage types are set to use this method and it's been in use for over a year with no problem. Following the upgrade to 4.7.2, I'm having an issue where IMAGES are not displayed properly, but only on mobile devices. CSS, JS, fonts, etc all display properly. But any image is showing up broken. Using Chrome, I was able to inspect the URL of the broken images.... it's showing as: https://www.mydomain.com//cdn.mydomain.com/path_to_file This is obviously not correct and should simply be https://cdn.domain.com. This is a strange one: Why would I be getting errors in the system log for 'nexus' when I do not have this? I only have Pages and Forums lol. I just cleared the log about 20 mins ago and already there are six more entries. I only noticed when I went to support to clear the caches and this was flagged as an issue that needed fixing.

Invision Community 4.7.2 now features a third party application and plug-ins PHP 8 compatibility scanner. Please read this post as you may find applications of plugins disabled after upgrading. Why do we need this? The underlying programming language that Invision Community uses is PHP. The latest version, PHP 8 was released in November 2020 and features many breaking changes and incompatibilities that are not backwards compatible. @Marc Stridgen, I just updated our staging platform to 4.7.2 and get the same issue. All previous updates working fine, but this one throws out the same error: [Template core/admin/global/globalTemplate is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.] I am unable to access the Admin CP, I just get this error so am unable to restore the "default" theme. How can I get this issue resolved? Update: I closed all my browser tabs, cleared my browser cache and then managed to continue with the update, which did go fine. Thanks Hans
