Yes Mark. 4.2 will connect your Facebook page to your IPS4.2 so you can promote to your page.

Will it be possible for the Facebook users to react to the posts in a very simple way? Something like how Disqus does?

Hi Kent, thanks for your interest.
As part of the Facebook set up process, you define which page you'd like to share these updates to. So, we'd pick our "Invision Power Services" page. This is shown in the article in the first screenshot if you'd like to take a look.

As Charles said, once we gauge interest, we can look at other social networks. I wrote the system to allow you to drop in a new class and it can then be used.
Great feature suggestion. Right now it's locked to one Facebook page and one Twitter account, but I like this idea for the future.

This is fantastic! Great job, guys!
Will we have the ability to post to multiple sources (such as multiple FaceBook Pages or Twitter accounts) or are we limited to one page per each social media service?
Some of our content is relevant to our other communities, so it would be helpful to cross-promote.

I have no idea, but judging by the responses here, most people would like to set up micro communities on their site.

We debated this, but the current implementation is just pins. For this, and a few other things related to the map (like how to choose what displays by default) we thought we'd wait to hear what feedback we get from you in the beta, once people get a feel for how they'll use Clubs
Yes, Club Leaders can ban a member from the club which will remove them and they will not be able to rejoin.
The homepage is a feed of all activity in the club including topics, gallery images, etc (including content from third party apps if they add support). It will also show when people have joined the club. We haven't done status updates.

Sometimes development isn't about creating something nobody has ever seen, but rather improving on existing concepts and providing a robust, built-in solution.

Of all the recent updates posted (as well as ones over the past couple of years, with me doing other things), this is the one that has me logging in to say YAY!
Could something simple be added, like a comment box that the user could fill out (optionally) when requesting to join a group? Nothing fancy, just have some text with it that mentions some clubs may require it to be filled out when requesting membership.
Also, any option for preventing a user from constantly requesting to join a club when they keep getting denied, like maybe a 'cool down' period?

What a superb implementation of social groups. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into this. You promised member engagement and you are delivering. Nice work IPS, it looks great!

We've still got some great stuff to announce, but Clubs is definitely my favourite 4.2 feature - glad you like it too

You know, you could actually read the article and not just look at the pictures. It explains it.

This is ... astounding. I can't imagine what you'll come up with next to trump these last two announcements!

This is in the Core app, so it'll be part of your community when you upgrade to 4.2. The areas of the club that users can create would of course be linked to which applications you have (e.g. you'd only be able to have galleries in your Club if you have the Gallery app).

This is going to be really confusing for golf forums.
Looking forward to this new feature!
