SUBRTX reacted to Morrigan in Any ideas for securing access to AdminCP?
Moving your admin directory, htaccess and removing the link from your theme are archaic and proven to be meh in this day and age.
Google Auth 2FA is enough to secure your account. The person would actually need access to your google auth account, password and backup password to even begin to login to your ACP.
Hiding an ACP is at best a "deterrent" and never a real solution. Additionally, the ACP link is ONLY given to those that have an administrative level account (so they have an account that can access the ACP.
I'll be honest, if 2FA isn't enough for you, then you are really going outside of the box. Who is in your personal data far enough that you are worried that 2FA isn't enough?
It sounds like you're going through extreme measures to solve an already solved problem.

    Happy new year,
I really like some posts I get from services like Spotify and Hootsuite which shows my use of the service during the year. For example I'm sure you know Spotify shows you every December (it's calling it Wrapped 2020) which songs were your favorites one, which genre you liked more, how many minutes you heard music and so many other interesting stats.
It will be interesting to have a similar feature where a user of our community could visit a page and see specific stats about him and his presence in the site. Some examples could be "how many posts/topic you've creates", "how many reactions you've used", "how many pm's you've send", "which forum category you posted most of your messages", "which file you downloaded more", "your most popular message" etc. It could also be nice if the feature could be expanded in order to support 3rd party apps.
    Just my 2 cents.

While I don't want to get into an argument the reason these scores are important to me is because Google have stated that various lighthouse metrics will be used in SEO ranking. Including the content shift score which will be used from 2021. There are 9 confirmed metrics that will affect seo from memory.
I think my site is fast enough and works will for all speeds but a huge number of my page views come from Google searches and I can't risk losing them.
Thanks for the info @Adlagoi was more wondering why the tags were not present in the source.

Nope, no one was interested in that. I have no idea how IPS will solve issues with speed improvements.

Could be anything, from third party plugins to your hardware to your configuration. You should open a support ticket and rule out some things.

I hope so.  I'll probably won't be upgrading in Feb/March.  Need a tad more stability and plugin support.

Its the only way. It needs to send a confirmation email if that's what is set up and its intended to delete new accounts if they don't validate.

The Recent updated is one of my most visited widget, but in case more than 10 updated apps I will lose the rest of them.
Example for recent topics widget by default with 10 topics, I would like have a "more" button in the end, each time I use the button it will show 5 items more, so I can use it to enlist to more topics.
By each enlist more action, it should be show a "condensed last action" Button, if the "More" button enlisted more than one time, then show "back to default" button too. If I just want to go back last time "More", use "Condensed last enlist action", if I want to go back to the default widget status, use "Back to default".
For widget that can not show more items than the unique content, the "More" button can be use as redirect button, so we can place a redirect link where we like the member discover easier. Or just to show rules something like announcements.

I think that's subjective. Some folks reading the powered by notice will be impressed. Others won't.
Either way the licence terms are clear, and If you want your boss off your back then you know what to do.

Strange one and possibly an OCD thing... But, I hate seeing that members ID jump up quite a lot throughout registrations with accounts being banned/deleted, etc. Is there a 'safe' way or is it even possible to recount all the accounts and put them back in descending order? I get this may not work for larger communities or ones that use the member ID as their membership ID, etc.

But, I thought I may just ask as it's probably just me that would want to achieve this.

What benkchmark did you use? I can see at least x2 speed improvment on the latest version.

Thank you for your answer, hopefully it will be soon 😉

Interesting I found a lot of articles raising concerns about Stripe.js, one example is this article and a follow up after someone decided to see what is being sent with each request...
    https://mtlynch.io/stripe-recording-its-customers/
    https://mtlynch.io/stripe-update/

Please IPS reconsider reducing the privacy impact of this by only loading it on the Commerce pages that need it like the checkout process. Stripe do not need to know about website visitors mouse movements and clicks to this extent, it's hugely intrusive and disproportionate which goes against the principles of GDPR and other modern privacy legislation. Our end users don't get the chance to opt in to sitewide surveillance tracking, even if they are guests and not signed in registered members they are potentially being tracked.
Alternatively please give us the toggle option to disable it for ourselves if we prefer, or some template logic limiting it to Commerce or perhaps maybe a CSP that we utilise.
For now I'm going to disable Stripe. It's a great product and very reliable, but global intrusive privacy implications and lack of transparency are very off putting.
    Many thanks.

Hi Paul, yes I thought the same but preferably I'd like IPS to improve the integration as stock. They removed Gravitar due to privacy concerns, this seems a worse scenario. Plus it's not a full removal, just managing the risk better IMHO. 🤔

This looks like we could handle it with a simple plugin. Would such a plugin be okay to release on the Marketplace?
