A large part of being able to manage a relatively busy Board is self policing by the Membership. When a Member clicks Report Post on problem Content they can either enter a Message or not. Regardless. I typically like to address their Reporting with a Thank You or a return Message. As is there is no automatic Messaging feature built into the Report Post function for the Member who reposts a Post, but you can click the offending Members name and access a Message function in drop down. As is you need to go to the Reporting Members Profile to Message or go to the Message function, type in their name etc. Being able to quickly Message the Offending Member and the Reporting  Member seems to make sense.

I just noticed this was mentioned recently in another Topic, with the only response being a third party plug in. Some of us prefer to stay native to the IPB software and functionality. Working this into an update doesn’t seem to be a huge hassle.

As mentioned in my OP….Some Boards owners/admins/mods prefer and choose to stay within the confines of the native Software functionality, and not use third party plug ins. This seems like something IPB could build into the software without a load of hassle.

I use an iPad for 98% of my Board administrating and moderating. Hovering doesn’t work or doesn’t work well on touch screen tablets or smart phones, in HTML or mobile.

We make great use of the Reporting system within our community, nurturing a self-moderation approach within the community itself.
One feature that would make moderation more efficient, would be to have a button (perhaps directly under Status) to send a PM directly to the Reporter.
We have to manually click on the member and then click Send Message. I know it's only a couple of clicks, but the easier it is the more often they would be followed up.
Even better would be when you click the proposed "Respond to Reporter" button, it pre-populates the Subject with "Report Response: Thread Title Here".

I use an iPad Air with current OS almost exclusively. I’ll fool with my Board on my old iMac desktop and iPhone and see if I can reproduce it. It’s not life threatening or a constant occurrence. It’s just new since the last Upgrade. Thanks for looking into it.

Apologies there. The last response you received was incorrect in having to change on 22nd Jan, because of the plan you are currently on. The other responses however were in response to your questions.
The plans have indeed changed, and you asked what you would need to change to if you changed, and that you were changing the way you run your site. You were answered on that basis, as we do have customers who want to switch to the new packages for their benefit.

    Well, not really.
I may have missed an email notice about this, and only found out about the change in Cloud Hosting Plans for 2022 this morning when I saw this Topic.
I have a modest Board that is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in March 2022, and is funded primarily via voluntary Donations. I am currently in the Ultra 100 User Plan at $70/month. After checking with Support on my current Usage/Page Views etc I am told I will need to change to the “Growth Plan” at $142/month. That is over DOUBLE an increase in Cloud Hosting fees with no explanation as to why.
Lindy as Manager, is there any flexibility for clients that are getting whacked by this change in Cloud Hosting Packages?
Can I speak to you or another Manager over the phone, person to person, or establish an email dialogue?

I didn’t get an email either. I had no idea about this. Did I read this correctly that the starter plan won’t be affected by the upgrade?

Also one thing that is not clear is if the 500GB of media storage includes unlimited Bandwidth.  Bandwidth is that thing people never account for and it can be a nightmare if your community is using an insane amount of bandwidth over what is allotted.  For us about 60% of our storage cost is actually for bandwidth as we use about 2TB a month on 250GB of storage.

The jump between starter and growth is pretty significant.  It basically triples our yearly cost as were on the Super 65. @Allen Bradford like your community we handle cost through donations.  On our last cycle we anticipated moving up to the Ultra 100, so our donation goals accounted for that increase but not for this one.
My assumption is the price increase is mainly due to the significant increase in storage allotment from 8GB to 500GB.  Which is a lot, assuming this is all Amazon S3 storage.  For me this does not matter as we pay for our storage/bandwidth separately running us about $250 a year.
What would have been nice is if the storage options were not bundled.  Basically choose your cloud plan...then choose what you want your storage option to be.  For smaller communities or communities with external hosting this would have been a huge cost savings for them.

Are these Email Validations or Admin Validations? If the former, please check that you have pruning setup, if you do not you can merely set this up for the desired days.
If the latter, you will want to perform an advanced search on the members screen in the ACP by clicking the cog wheel in the search box. Filter down your search then once the search results load, click the "Validating" tab. Before clicking the prune all found button in the blue bar, double/triple check you're on the "Validating" tab before proceeding.
For self-hosted customers, as always, before doing any large pruning, it would be advised to take a backup prior to attempting.

I'm very reluctant to say, and it genuinely saddens me to say that, but I just think the IC team doesn't care about the "small client" anymore.
since a few months back I've been getting a feeling that IC have had their sights set on some goal (financial, if I'm correctly reading between the lines) and they don't let feedback get in their way. I (and it seems like quite a few different community managers/owners) have been having this feeling since the "Zapier's gonna only be for CiC clients" blog post.
Feels like something was "switched on" and the devs' responses to feedback suddenly changed.
I myself started a couple of threads about this issue, both were commented on (one of them after having a private conversation with a team member) with something along the lines of "yeah, that's great" or "pretty" and nothing more was done.
Here's an example - a poll that ended in a landslide, and NOTHING was done besides some - excuse my french - asinine comments that COMPLETELY ignored that main issue and only acknowledged some side remarks made in other comments.
And another one, where honest conversation was exactly what you said - constructive, sincere, and in good faith. Besides the mandatory "yeahhhh dude, we totally get you", pretty much nothing was done to address concerns that were brought up.
Lately another line in sand was crossed with an e-mail sent to clients basically saying they're going to pawn off support to the community forums, sorry, I mean they're "keen to invest in our community support by asking that your first point of contact for support as an active license holder be in our new support area on our forums." because "Creating a strong support community backed by our support technicians will result in a more detailed and richer set of answers."
I, for one, am on starting to give up any hope that taking any feedback that isn't "that's great!" into consideration is anywhere on IC's roadmap. It's unfortunate especially since we switched to IC from VB for exactly those reasons after years of VB "knowing better" and making their platform more and more frustrating to use. I'd hate to see IC go down the same path.
    Big sad.

I finally received an email response from Support and was told the problem has resolved itself but they are investigating. I put my Board back Online just now and within a few minutes was experiencing the same connection issues, 500 error, inability to perform the most basic tasks. I contacted Support again. Hopefully they can figure this out soon. This will be the third day my Board has been basically unusable. The natives (Members) are getting restless. This is starting to concern me.
Could Support please post to this Topic and keep us aware of any progress in addressing this issue?  This is the third day I have been forced to take my Community Offline.

Same problem as yesterday. Started again at 5:30 PM Eastern. Cloud Connection issues, all sorts of error messages. My Board is basically unusable for Members or Admins or Mods. It took me multiple tries to get to Admin CP and take my Board Offline. Ive contacted Support and have had no response from them. It would be nice to get some sort of update. Boards are largely businesses and are compromised with prolonged down time.
