We run automated backups on our Cloud communities to enable a PIT (Point in Time) restoration. There should be no need for yourself to have a backup but we strongly believe it is your data so submitting an contact request to our accounts team, they can take care of it for you. Just to also touch on your part with "someone with access tries to tamper with it", I would recommend not allowing anyone in your ACP or moderator permissions that you do not fully trust. This is how individuals, in the past, open themselves up to issues.
