You can do this since 3.X (at least) actually. In 4.X this option is hidden under "Insert other media" button.

A little addition: Just in case you'll change your mind about raster images in backgrounds, here is some SVG examples:
svg.7z (yes 3 backgrounds, sized just in 2 kb in compressed state).

Just to note, we decided to go ahead and support lazy loading for external embeds like YouTube too for 4.4. Most embeds (Facebook, Twitter etc.) already lazy loaded because they routed through a local URL, but external embeds will also lazy load now. You're welcome, @Mr 13 🙂

Will be lazy load also implemented for YouTube embeds?
This topic is a live illustration why this is important.

It would be awesome to load just thumbnail instead of player and to load player only when thumbnail clicked.

I find animated GIFs are uniformly irritating. Fortunately the wonderful IPS software allows us not to host them. I actually cannot bear to read some of Invision Community's own blog posts/articles because of the animated GIFs included in them.
    Simply terrible.
    - but hey, if it floats your boat...

Why not type the values as text in the article? Really tired to retype it from screenshots.
Also adding direct links to the VK documentation pages would be useful.

I don't like current behaviour of highlighting because it works for every posts, does not matter if this post important or not (i.e. "official staff answer" or "staff member's comment on kittens photo"). I'd prefer to have an option below editor. Posted this also as suggestion in feedback and ideas section. Please support(reaction/comment - any activity) this topic if you need it too.

In my expirience unfortunately there is too much false positive bans with "spam defence" even if only "User is a known spammer" option is used, so i'd recommend to use this feature carefully and set it to "Flag the account for manual review" instead of instant ban or preventing from register.
Also it would be great to have option "Allow user to register as normal but mark it as possible spammer for further review" which will allow to register without any restrictions but moderators will able to check this account later (for links in profile, etc).

Another solution for humans spamming is to allow them to post but make their posts only visible to them and moderators, but not the rest of users. This way they post happily and everybody ignores them.
I know this is something that IPS doesn't have and I'm also aware it's a tool designed for trolls, but I once participated in a forum with this option for spammers and trolls and was very useful. By the time they noticed the problem they were already bored.
