In Pages this is one of the features I use the most. It would definetly be great to have this in Forums, too.

There is scheduling of posts in Pages. I use it all the time.

I have an entirely different vision of the layout and navigation for the forum I'm working on (still in the very early stages), but I must say, nice site!

I think it would be really nice to have the ability to create a post and schedule it to be posted at a later date/time.  This would allow me to do a LOT of work ahead of time on my forum.

openfire reacted to day_ in Dark theme by IPS
Like you, I was frustrated by the lack of a dark theme so created one. It's free, completely free and contains zero template edits, fully stock IPS templates which means as long as you don't edit any yourself, when you upgrade the theme will automatically update for you. No waiting around for developer updates before you can update your forum.
The theme only contains CSS colour changes, it's rare that at this stage you will see any changes to the CSS that would break the colours. Now obviously when 5.x drops this most likely won't work, but should be fine for the duration of the 4.x series.  Feel free to ignore, totally understand and despite creating this would still prefer an official one myself.

I really like fluid view but i think there could be some improvements on the navigation side of things.
Would it be possible to change the check and uncheck feature to just click like a menu? Menay of our members keep forgetting to uncheck and we get several emails saying they can not see all posts because they forgot or did not realise they had to uncheck the box to see all topics again. In addition to this it would be good if when they clicked a certain forum the TOPICS titel at the top would reflect the forum topics they are viewing if that makes sense.

I used Sendgrid based on the recommendation of the IPS staff and because support is built into IPS. Unfortunately the price of Sendgrid is 10x that of Amazon's SES simple email service.
I just switched over to Amazon SES and am stuck using the SMTP route rather than via the API because there isn't native support via IPS like there is for Sendgrid.
I'd like to ask for or vote for IPS adding support for Amazon SES, just like it supports Sendgrid.

While different communities may have different demographics that tend to use one device over another, the underlying global trend is clear.  Mobile use is increasing. In 2017, it surpassed desktop use for the first time. It now makes up the majority of global traffic, and in developed countries, the use is even higher.
WHAT PERCENTAGE OF ONLINE TRAFFIC IS MOBILE?
In 2018, 52.2% of all worldwide online traffic was generated through mobile phones, up from 50.3% in the previous year (Statista, 2018)
57% of all U.S. online traffic now comes from smartphones and tablets (BrightEdge, 2017)

I actually think any UIX decisions from here on out by IPS need to be judged in the context of mobile first.

Positive Feedback: With regard to the 'post before register' , I purposely yesterday did not register after the post. 🙂 I forgot to mention earlier as I'd filled in the form etc I got an email reminding me of this with a helpful link to let me finish up if I wanted to:

I did try that but it wanted me to complete the form before I could submit the post itself (expected) however the value of being able to type the reply then being 'enticed' by just having the quick registration page immediately after is excellent. 🙂
EDIT... The odd CKE issue I had seems to be fixed or almost so, Its working in their demo properly and working (it seems) on the preview site. I can't be sure until I can try on a local copy but that's not relevant here. Feedback on that when I can be sure.

True, but the one option I've been waiting for, "post before register" is active there and it works, so hot damn I'm ready to buy!

    10 PRINT "When it's ready!" 20 GOTO 10
Actually on a serious note, it would be neat if logins were shared with here (perhaps limited to active?) to avoid the need to re-register, this might result in a few more active members testing on their. I did for some reason think they were but could not sign in with my existing credentials. I can possibly see why they are not given the alpha/beta nature of the testing so far though. :)

They made it ! Thank you IPS  to have taken this suggestion i made since june 2015 into account :)
Cant wait to see it live !
I saw that you plan to set a redirection to a form next to a guest post, there might be an easier way to do this, the best way to do it is like this :
    https://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/linux-unix-13/new
right below the post form,  ask a login / email / password
much easier, and the visitor stays on the same page :)

I'm trying to take the gamification concept to heart, and I feel like there are several 'calls to action' that are missed opportunities within the suite.
    1.  No View Permission
When a user doesn't have permission to view, this is the message that he sees.  Factually and technically, the message might be correct.  But in terms of user interface, it's terribly off-putting and doesn't provide a method of resolution.

Yes, there is a problem and the problem is that the default error for all IPS communities is horribly unappealing.
Pretty sure the goal is to get users to join, not scare them away.
Also, if it's a guest, he should be offered a chance to register.  You only offer a button to sign-in for existing users (!)
    2.  Club Join
Did you know that you offer a 'join' button to guests on the club home, and when they click on it, they receive the following message:
Let me repeat: you're asking guests to join, and then immediately tell them they can't join.
    3.  Club Streamlined Sign-in
    Regular forums show streamlined sign-in:

It would be appropriate to show club-specific streamline sign in as well.
