Richard Arch got a reaction from ZLTRGO in Commerce, display payment method
Please consider displaying the payment method or grouping the cards by payment method to avoid a member deleting what looks like an unwanted duplication of a card that could be needed for an automatic renewal.
    This topic would explain more.

Richard Arch got a reaction from OptimusBain in Commerce, Support Request not linking to associated product
    Hi
    I believe I've found a bug, can someone check/confirm?
Store Products with "Show 'Submit Support Request' button" enabled are not automatically linked.
"This will link the customer to the form to submit a support request with the purchase selected as the associated purchase."

The following will be of help and remember to take a database backup beforehand as Jim suggested.

Richard Arch reacted to Black Zero in Email sending limit
My hosting service allows me to send 5000 emails daily and I have 20000 subscribers. If such a system is available then I can deliver email to everyone in just 4 to 5 days. But I can't do that. Because when you send so many emails at once, all of them get stuck in error logs. There should be a suitable option for this so that anyone who wants to use this option can do it easily.

The release "IPS Community Suite 4.6.9" Fixed an issue where banned users show in @mentions.
Can something similar be applied to private messages to prevent banned members showing in the "To" list as you type?

Richard Arch reacted to Mopar1973Man in Commerce - Selling diesel parts and services
Ok I've done it in the past about 5 years ago but the IPS software has changed since I did it last. I was able to create a email I could send out to my vendor with the full invoice parts, part numbers, and quantities. Then my vendor will box it up and drop ship for me. My problem is I've lost my old template from way back when. Basically I want to take and use the product notification and send a email invoice to my vendor with the stuff the customer is wanting to buy.
So take this which does me zero good...

Then email this which covers everything... I have the product listing that is readable, who order (Mopar1973Man.Com) and then who is this product sent to (Customer name and shipping address). Now my vendor bills my account and process my order to ship a injection pump out to X customer in Y state. I like the email notification method because my local products I sell don't require this so I leave the feild blank. But if the product comes from Utah Supplier I got to make sure to pass along the info... So email notification works good.

My question is how to build this into the email so all the info is passed along to my vendor. Shipping address, product names, I can lose the price because my price will be different from public. I do need all shipping and customer information emailed for sure hard to ship a product without a address and customer name. This way the product is order from my vendor instantly and and mailed out to the customers with my business name on the package.
ANOTHER SUGGESTION --- Provide Fractional Quantity
Being I do do Diesel Mechanic work I need to bill out in fractional amount a lot of times and it a big pain in the rear end to have to hand calculate everything for fractional amount. 2.4 hours at $85 and hour since the IPS can't process it I got to now hand math which is $204 for the 2.4 hours and the set it for 1 quantity. Instead of setting the price at $85 an hour and placing 2.4 in the quantity. This one is time waster being simple math of fractional quantity is a common feature to even Quickbooks.

Richard Arch reacted to LaCollision in [IPS.Commerce] Failed transaction: send an email only if all cards have been declined
    Hi Invision,
In IPS.Commerce, I often encounter the following situation for recurring subscriptions:
A customer receives an email telling him that his card has been declined (this happens quite often, for example if the card has expired).
However, it turns out that this customer has registered two cards in his account… and very often, the transaction with the 2nd card is accepted without incident.
The problem is that the customer has received the email: he thinks there has been a problem, and that his subscription is no longer valid.
He therefore contacts us in a panic… but the subscription has been renewed thanks to his 2nd bank card.
=> Would it be possible to send the email indicating that a transaction failed, only if the transactions with ALL the customer cards failed?
    Thank you very much! ☀️

Richard Arch got a reaction from Ravion in Commerce: Billing Address for Donations
Consider displaying "Making donations" option always, currently its not visible until a donation is added elsewhere so you don't release that it may need to be set for the chosen payment gateways.
When there are no donations its not visible.

After adding a donation the option is visible.

It caught me out and I needed to create a topic for help to sort:

Yes, that was it. Once Making Donations was selected the payment works as expected.

Richard Arch reacted to Desmodromene IT in Subscription expiration date
    Hi,
We need a function to set an expiration of a subscription date both pr user, and for a subscription plan.
A short explanation: we have subscriptions that should last from roughly March -> March regardless of when a customer pays for the subscription. This is currently not possible. Furthermore we'd like to have the option to change expiration date of all active subscriptions in case it needs to change to say February or April or something. This is also not possible currently.
Should be an easy thing to implement, and I really hope this will be considered. We currently have a plugin, but it isn't working the way it should. Feel free to ask if anything is unclear!
    Thanks!

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

    Thanks @Matt
They provide a good and valuable service, if you take payments it's a huge reassurance, but it's the integration within IPS Community Suite that is the issue, it's disproportionate and unjustified. It just needs to be included within Commerce, not Gallery, Blog, Forums etc.
For years staff in their responses about this issue have effectively been saying it's necessary throughout the whole suite because that's what Stripe say and recommend, but it's not mandatory or binding. At worst it may be less effective if their system doesn't know whether one of my members or visitors read a blog post, viewed a Gallery image or forum.
I also think their recommendation is based and in relation to being used on an e-commerce site, where it would much more sense from that perspective. In fact I just read this on that page...

    and on https://stripe.com/docs/js/including
Again I think they wrote this from the perspective that you are integrating it into an online store, with 'every page' meaning product description pages, etc. I think if asked, they'd agree.

Apologies if this reads very passionately but I don't see why, if the integration won't be limited to the Commerce app, that we can't have a simple toggle to be able to choose for ourselves to limit it to Commerce or not, since after all, we're the site owners being responsible under GDPR.
IPS provide useful tools to assist us with GDPR compliance, so it's confusing why this is overlooked.

Following a user through some shop categories is very different from online communities, where 99.9% of the user’s activity might be in the community area and the shop is maybe used once a year.
In that sense an option to limit the use of the Stripe call would make a lot of sense.

If it helps this is where "Gift Cards" appears, along the store menu.  Check the permissions in Menu Manager.
I'd guess that the guide is using old screen images.
