Hi

I wonder if this is a bug.  The included rss feed for Upcoming Events from a calendar works without issue but when I create my own from System > RSS Feed it does not work.  It looks like the link isn't correctly formed, there are some square brackets along with CDATA.  Is the right?

The CDATA there looks to be valid. Could you please clarify what you are doing with the feed which it does not work?

Hi Jim

I'm adding the rss feeds to MS Outlook, the Upcoming Events works as it connects and refreshes.  However, with the Test rss feed it fails.

Please could you provide me with a link to that feed so I can take a look for you?

Sure, I've sent you PM.

The issue here is that there is no access to your site unless you are logged in, and therefore that RSS feed also cannot be seen unless you are logged in.

How does the included Upcoming Events rss feed work then?  I will send that too in a PM for you to check.

That includes the logged in code from a member who can access this area

Confused...  Do you mean the member id and key, both the links include that?

From the screenshot provided, it does not appear to be so. The URL you provide to your RSS tool would need to have it. Additionally, the community cannot be offline, etc... which would render the RSS feed unreachable.

To confirm, are you using an RSS reader or are you adding this as a calendar?

Hi Jim

You can barely see the member id from the error screenshot, I will PM you the links that I sent Marc so that you can check too.  To confirm, I'm using MS Outlook as a RSS Reader.

Marc has been able to check and confirm that the "Upcoming Events" rss feed works, but the custom rss feed does not.  As my website requires all members to login, it may explain why the custom rss feed does not work but why would "Upcoming Events" rss feed work.  It seems to bypass the login requirement.

Thank you for sharing that. It is rather odd. Do you deny permissions to certain areas of your community? Do you mind updating the access details in the Client Area so we can review your community?

Yes, no guests. Everyone must login.

Will do, give me a few minutes.

You should have login details now.

Thank you for reporting this. Was able to login to your community, review your settings and now was able to reproduce this on my own installation so this is indeed a bug. I have reported it internally and a fix should be released in a future maintenance release. Thanks again!
