@Sonya* I'm not talking about special customizations but basic customizations.
A prefix system (and not a hybrid tag) is the basis for a forum that has been around for 20 years.
Developer a system to be able to contact their users is essential for anyone with a forum.

Is there any reason why IPS doesn't have a prefix system? It's like a core feature of every forum software and I don't think I've ever come across a forum that doesn't use prefixes.

Yes, I understood this but it is not a simple thing for normal users ... It is also not possible to change the colors of the tags.

I also found an article from you where you said how to change the colors of the tags by editing the custom.css file but I didn't understand where that file is ...

Ok, I understand that it must be closed, but the tags should not be inserted there but only in the categories.
I don't understand why ipb doesn't have a prefix system like all the other forums ...

You've basically hit the nail on the head - this is an old school forum that has existed for years and years where a certain style of moderation has been accepted by the community.

I take the points on board with respect to moderation etc. - but believe me, moving the community from PHPBB to IPB was hard enough and required reassurances that the rules, moderation etc would remain the same. It turns out a community of 30-50 year old men really do not like any change! 😂
Lindy - How customisable are the little badges? I note that there are badges for new members and moderators, but if it's possible to customise the badges that could so the issue somewhat.

I agree that this is ideal in some communities, yet there are others where it is not. I would propose that any change be configurable, yet there is a clear need in some communities to be more transparent about who and what is restricted.

If it's a busy topic, with lots of posts coming quickly, and you don't quote the post you want to be replying to, it might get confusing.

Don't see what the issue is. If the last post is a long one, and I want to quote a portion of it, I'll use the "Reply" button and then edit the quote. If users are using the "Add Reply" button all the time, rather than using the quick reply by clicking on the text box, that's a user education issue. The existing system is just fine.

Personally, I've never seen the problem with bumping a really old thread. Old does not necessarily mean irrelevant.

Many forums including mine are fine with posting in old threads as long as the post doesn't break any set rules.

That mod is fine for a single conversation, but if you have hundreds of conversations in your inbox it's not terribly useful. There needs to be a way to export all your conversations so you can download them together.

In the APC we have the option to change a users reputation and can view reputations received and given.
I would like the option to remove reps when viewing reputations received / given.

add: maybe also add and option of how many times a user can vote. Think might help stop users trying to abuse the system.

Please get back topic icons in forum view!!!
I'm really disappointed that IPB 3.x lost that feature.
In my forum topic icons are much appreciated both by mods and users because they differentiate posts "at a glance".
So I prefer don't update to 3.x and remain with 2.x.
    Really bad

I agree, but it should be a bit more complex, it should save their original group and then put them in the banned group. So if you unban them they'll get their old groups back.

    You mean moderators per category?

    +1

It's a good idea and it should be an admin option, not everybody runs their site the same way you know.

    IP.Chat and IP.Shoutbox are 2 different things :o

IP.Shoutbox is made by a few community guys for free, and it is released at IPS Resources but that doesn't mean its an official release. IP. Chat is an official BETA release. Hope that clears it up.

When the final version is released, is it going to be free to those who have an active license to IPB?

What I want to see in 3.1.

Thread Tagging Option for users to ignore/hide threads based on tags. Option to make it so that when moderators ban a user the user's group is changed to the banned group. it is so annoying having to log into the admin CP and change a member's group manually. And it makes it extremely hard to make a system where banned members can view an appeal forum, because if they're banned by a moderator then there's no way to give them access to an appeals forum until the admin changes their group. No more hard coded special permissions for super moderators. I don't want my mods (or admins for that matter) mass deleting posts, but if I have super mods they're automatically allowed to mass delete and there's no way to set it so they can't. This seems so stupid when you realize that you have pretty much complete control over admin permissions yet all these super mod permissions can't be changed at all...

    Hello Invision Power Services staff.
    I want praise you.
Your service (support, questions, etc...) is the best I've got ever.
I just send you a ticket and I get an answer two-three minutes later. But it's not just an answer, it's an good answer.
And you've just amazing and members of the support & services staff that always help and answer in a good way.
I just want to say you thanks for your services and I hope and I'm sure it will remain.
    Than, THANKS!

From the service I've gotten so far, basically IPB is straining the boundaries for it not being possible for them to improve their customer service. I cannot believe how helpful and knowledgeable they are in all their documentation, support (from tickets, and various forums); and I basically can't be anymore satisfied. I just wanted to share it with you guys. Just all the possibilities they give us and the amazing board to start out with, it astonishes me to no end. Things like iCommerce and auto-pm modifications are just great and I seriously think this is one of, if not the best software, customer support/forum company on the web. ;)
